Agree...tempo is not a concept exclusive to NU though.

Maybe the untold story of the game really is how Colorado owned the second half? And really, even a little bit before? Starting with their FG drive before half, they outscored us 20-7, and missed two other FGs (We missed one) while outgaining us in final two quarters. 

Not so sure this game was one that NU just let slip away, as is the common narrative...its kind of looks like a Nebraska rally sandwiched between periods of Colorado control. But that's me not having watched the whole thing, and looking at the stat sheet.

THIS is what disappoints me.
It seems Frost and others want to point to more than a few bad mistakes and insist the Huskers handed this game to the Buffs.
That is undeniably true to a certain extent.  But, why not admit that the Buffs out played the Huskers on both sides of the ball for the 2nd half?
because we don't want to disappoint the fans, and we want to keep things very positive for the players?  If those are the reasons, I'm fine with that.  Gotta try to keep a wee bit of momentum.

I know it was a loss. Still, I look at it as a sign of Frost being ahead of schedule. It's just one game, so maybe there'll be contradictory signs later, but the improvements for the defensive front were stark.

Might be an admission that we got outcoached in 2H? The first time CU really got to digest our schemes was at halftime.
It really shouldn't be an issue for a staff coaching their first game, but who knows.

The offense looked very polished as well. Typically at this point, the ball is skipping off empty patches of turf, linemen are pulling the wrong way, snaps are flying past the QB's turned head, and all manner of other miscues that were in short supply Saturday. 
One area to keep an eye on is going to coverage. The last two DCs came in and forced in a defense they did not have the players to execute, and I am not confident we have the CBs to pull of Chin's scheme against good offenses. If not...will he adjust, or will we just hope to win shootouts?

Adjust against the pass how - in the back half or up with more pressure up front? The second one seems like it fits the roster better/is more likely to work. In the Rich Rodriguez era, Michigan had neither a pass rush, CBs, nor safeties befitting a ... Top 100 team. And perhaps no adjustment could have fixed it. Dark dark times. UNL is far better off up front and that can somewhat hold the leaks back until reinforcement (recruiting) comes to the secondary.

Husker's sack numbers and pressure was encouraging

how many of the 7 sacks were in the first half?  How many in the 2nd?

7 sacks was very good, but 8 or 9 sacks might have won the game.

It's a tough call to blitz and leave the secondary exposed, but that QB was throwing strikes

I was thinking more along the lines of using zone, even though its not Chin' forte.

I'm guessing that means he won't play against Troy, unless the other two QBs go down

it's not as violent has many husker fans make it out to be, but there is definitely some extra effort put in there to bend/twist the leg.  If I wasn't a Nebraska fan I'd understand why the PAC10 didn't suspend him, but I'd wonder why the BIG didn't support..

As a husker fan, he should be suspended by the PAC and the BIG should be more supportive (meaning, publically question it and suggest it needs to be addressed in the offseason with officials)
