Not easy to find productive freshman TEs as most don't do much until their sophomore or even junior years.  Here's 2 reasonable contenders, but I'm sure there are more that could be found:

Heath Miller 2002 33/327/9
Chase Coffman 2005 - 47/503/4



Earned first letter, playing in all 13 games with 2 starts at tight end … Badgers' second-leading receiver with 36 receptions for 456 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Bowers had a great season for any TE, some huge plays and some impressive runs.

I think he'd be a first round draft pick now.

He is in excitement/recruiting coach, so talking a lot is in the wheelhouse.

also, if he doesn’t talk a lot, the reporters there might just not ask enough questions and he would have to leave before the allotted time is up. And that would look bad
