Eh, people are already saying Bama is finished.  That's an awful lot of talent to just start stinking.
.
As for the Citrus Bowl this year, yes, some Bama players are sitting out.  Yes, UM might not get their top-notch, most-motivated effort - that's certainly possible.  But if you're a UM fan or coach or player - YOU DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO GET THE WIN!  Take advantage of every real help and any and all perceived slights or gifts or whatever it takes, but win the damn game!

Alabama fans probably don't care about this game as the expectation is playoffs or bust there.

Michigan fans are too sick over getting humiliated AGAIN at the hands of Ohio State to even care. At least that's where I am at. Harbaugh can win this and I still won't give a rats ass, because the guy can't win any games that actually matter.

Yep.  Win the damn game.

Bama has been on a perhaps unprecedented run of success.  If you have a chance to play them when they are at less than their best, you must go all out to take advantage of that fact.

Same applies to any helmet team on a great run.  If you can catch them while they are down, kick 'em hard!  That win will shine in your record book forever, and there won't be any asterisk attached to the score.

I have no idea how this game is going to go. It does appear that Michigan won't be without any important players for a change (by choice, injury, or any other reason), while Alabama will be without several future pros, though apparently fewer than expected.... For Michigan, if anything, the best players should be particularly motivated to prove themselves against a team with so many future pros.

Hopefully the offense playcalling will be aggressive since there's nothing to lose by opening up the playbook in a game like this.

On defense it's going to be difficult to slow them down with an undersized DLine while also covering their great receivers. Their best chance is to get some pressure on their QB and force some turnovers like Auburn did.

They're going to have to do well in special teams, too, where they should have an advantage except Alabama has arguably the best returner in the country, so they should just kick it through the endzone and punt it to the sideline to avoid any big plays there.

I can see any outcome from a 30 point loss to a 10 point win but am expecting a loss by 1 or 2 TDs.

UGA left literally half its team back home.  Alabama could be in similar straits, don't know.

J.R. Reed, their key safety, now says he's not playing.  Oddly enough, D'Andre Swift apparently is.  I figured he was gone for sure being a running back.

https://withthefirstpick.com/2019/11/22/2020-nfl-draft-dandre-swift-perfect-weapon-nfl/

Currently ranked as the top running back on this writer’s big board, Swift is an elite athlete with the ability to stay on all three downs on the field. At 5-9, Swift is not small, as he is also 215 pounds and has shown the ability to break tackles as well. He has already surpassed 1,000 yards for the second straight year and has elite film to boot.

Saban vs Harbaugh in a battle of wits? Lmao. Saban with almost a month to prepare vs a guy that I’m not even sure can spell his own name? Lmao.

Alabama by a lot. If Bama doesn’t win by about 30 I’ll be shocked.

Just back from a nice walk with the spouse.  It's about 50°F with very clear blue skies and sun, light wind.  We went to the botanical garden and then through the park.

Being outside and talking is a good thing.  I still see kids out walking staring at their phones.

On the way back, we heard a sharp bang and discovered a car had hit a dog that ran across the street unleashed.  The driver stopped and reversed blocking traffic and about five people were there, two lifted the dog into his car to take him to the e-vet a mile away.  Another dog apparently had run loose as well and people were trying to find him, no idea how the dog got out, or whose it was.  It was a surprisingly loud bang and we were 100 feet away when it happened, and people started shouting, I was at first wondering if it was a gun shot, or that a car hit a human.

Michigan ran the ball well in the first half.  And given that success decided to abandon the run for the most part in the second in favor of over thrown long pass plays.
