2021 Music City Bowl
« on: December 30, 2021, 08:34:45 PM »
Does it remind anyone else of the UT-UNC Music City Bowl in 2010?

I think Tennessee was penalized 7 times for pass interference - I think all the calls by just one ref- the back judge.

Is seven a new record for pass interference calls in a single game?

And the last call was as bad as the 2010 game.

I put this on another site:

Might I gently suggest…

that when the ref decides forward progress has stopped, that he
BLOWS HIS FRIKKIN’ WHISTLE!!!!

The audio on the replay clearly shows that there was no whistle until AFTER the ball crossed the goal line.

But the ref gets to decide when he thought progress was stopped?  After incontrovertible evidence there was no whistle?

I texted during the review:  “that’s a TD.  But they won’t call it.”

Right again….

I mean...

They had REPLAY.  And STILL screwed the call.

Inexcusable.

Incompetence and corruption are everywhere victorious...

I think Burrell was called for PI 4 of the 7.

A couple of them were legit PI.

President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

At least 2 were but to have 4 called. He’s not a very good DB anyway.

It was interesting to me that Purdue DB’s could molest our WR’s, grab the waist of our WR pants (like the one that wasn’t called in OT), etc…. The refs were horrible and apparently saw all of UT’s fouls but ignored many of Purdue’s. I saw Purdue blatantly holding our D players and the refs were blind to it all.

They didn't call obvious holds by Purdue DBs against Tillman though....I thought that Hooker had overthrown him, but it appears that Tillman was running at half speed due to the hold.

Referee?  Jerry Magallanes.....where have I heard that name before?

Oh yeah....

ACC suspends Miami-Duke officiating crew 2 games for 'series of errors' on wild final play

SNIP:
The ACC announced Sunday that the entire officiating crew from the game, including referee Jerry Magallanes and replay official Andrew Panucci, has been suspended two games for a "series of errors" during and after the final play. Miami's 30-27 victory will stand, however.

"The quality of our officiating program is of the highest importance to the league and its schools, and the last play of the game was not handled appropriately," said ACC Commissioner John Swofford.

Rob Luklan was the back judge who called almost all (all?) of the Pass Interference calls.

https://accsports.com/teams/duke/who-is-jerry-magallanes/

SNIP:
Magallanes and his crew have remained fairly intact over the last two seasons. Terrance Ramsay, Robert Luklan, Michael McCarthy and Tracy Lynch have all been with Magallanes. Lynch moved to a different position this season, from linesman to center judge.

Yall realize UT basically flipped the NCAA the bird over Pruitts bags of cash... many schools are doing so for other circumstances.  A matter of fact some coaches are straight up talking smack about the NCAA on camera (see NCST coach response about UCLA hiding behind the Kung fu flu).

I'd be interested to see if the schools suffering from consistently bad refereeing are ones who've all but told the NCAA to pound sand.

Of course UT has been on their shit list since the mid nineties when the professor on campus made claims the NCAA investigated and investigated and investigated. . And investigated... and found nothing.

Self investigate? Self report?  Go eff yourself NCAA... (ncaa says "yeah, well, that was pass interference big guy, and though a whistle wasn't blown our mind reading software determined the line judge was thinking forward progress was stopped already.   He decided that as a course of potential action and contingency even prior to the snap truth be told)...

I am thinking just too many bad calls to be coincidence? Are these games fixed? This one sure seemed to be. I am losing interest in watching this bullshit.

I think the last straw for me was when UNC was giving college credits to players who never, ever showed up in the classroom and never took a test.  They "investigated it" and then just ignored it until it went away.

I've zero time for the NCAA.

LSU and Memphis escapades of the past few years turned me against the NCAA
