The guy I attended the Braves game with is a big Bama fan, long time season ticket holder, etc. He's worried about Ole Miss.

The West is pretty solid this year.

Man, I don't even know.  Ever since I got out of quarantine several weeks ago I've so backlogged with work and school that I'm not having much time to watch games, or much of anything else either.  And that's on top of already watching less football than I used to.  I don't have much in the way of matchup analysis or predictions that aren't just guessing.

All I can say is good luck to your teams this weekend, everybody but Auburn.  This could be the year AU finally breaks the voodoo of the Cigar Curse.

I recall a Cheers episode where they all predicted NFL games.  Diane predicted on the basis of team colors and mascots, and won every time.

Fear seems to be a common factor around Alabama fans regarding Ole Miss. It seems that because Ole Miss played Bama tough last year and beat Alabama six years ago, they are a major threat this year. I don't buy it. Bama has too much superiority in players. Bama by three tds.

Bama 45  Ole Miss 20

This was my guess, I will stick with it, I expect a comfortable win.  OM could well score more I realize and make it closer.  And of course my guesses are rarely spot on, it happens aa time or two a season.

If it was just about talent, Alabama wouldn't have lost a game in the past decade.

Whatever it is Ole Miss did last year, they're doing it better this year.  So if they were close last year and they actually have some semblance of a defense this year, combined with Alabama not being as good on either side of the ball, even by mere % points, then it makes sense that the Rebels are a threat.

That being said, Saban could have a different gameplan and smack Kiffin upside the head.  The fun is in the watching.

Yup, good points, and it should be an interesting game.

There are some good coaches in the SEC right now, I think, including at UK IMHO.  I like what Arkansas is becoming, just not tomorrow.  Mullen seems very able to exact the best of the pieces he has present, very adaptable and creative.  Kiffin, I don't know yet, but he's making noise.  Coach O?  huh.

Is Kentucky bad?  3 straight 1-possession wins, vs Mizzou, Chattanooga, and Carolina.  Why are they only a 7.5 point dog to the Gators??

Aside from it being Florida's first real road game (had more fans than USF did in Tampa), I can't think of why.

I'd take UF to beat that spread handily, it could be close early of course.  I've seen a UGA game at Kroger Field, it's not that loud of course.

And UGa scores on its first drive. I have not commented on this game because this will tell more about A&M’s season outlook than most others.

I see it two ways.  (1)A&M is either really bad on offense this year, and average on defense, (2) or Arkansas is really good on defense and average on offense.

Right now it’s looking like #1. OL is in shambles and QB is subpar. Defense can’t carry the day either.

Just hope we can eek one out vs the pirate bulldog.

This is why I require johnny-come-latelys to show me something against a big-boy team before I ever buy in.
Any unexpected 4-0 or 8-1 team who hasn't played anyone legit is never going to get me to pick them because they're nearly 100% not ready for the spotlight.

Ark had 8 3 and outs. Only had two drives with any first downs. Terrible showing.

UGa IMO made a serious case for #1.

Not unless they change the spelling of "Georgia" to A-L-A-B-A-M-A.
