Cam was never smart enough to be a good NFL QBWhat? Dude was an MVP.
Excited to see what Rondale Moore can do in Ryan Gosling offense with both Deandre Hopkins and AJ Green both on the field to take the defense's attention away...Oh he's going to be amazing in that offense playing with those guys. Dark-horse OPOY candidate. ROY will probably go to one of the rookie QB's.
What? Dude was an MVP.I didn't get to vote
I didn't get to voteI don’t know man. I think anyway you want to slice it, he was an amazing player for a short run there. Unfortunately, his body starting breaking down and betraying him- and one of the things that made him great was his running ability. When that started to go, he just never improved enough as a passer to make up for some loss of his running ability and his physical ability to throw the football. Cam’s arm used to be maybe the strongest in the league. He just wasn’t/isn’t the same guy anymore after all the injuries. The arm strength and the running ability is really what made him great. He’s lost a lot of both of them.
and now he might be out of the league

He’s lost a lot of both of them.I think that was the point. Cam never made his money based on his smarts or his arm/accuracy. He happened to have an amazing season, winning a SB, because his entire skill set was plus. But per FF, he wasn't smart enough to do it once his running ability started trending to average and he started to have injury issues due to all the running.
Just goes to show you, being a pocket scientist, field general who has an above average arm but who throws with elite level accuracy, timing, and anticipation trumps all that other stuff. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are clear cut evidence of this. Neither one of them could run a lick and neither one had an elite arm talent in terms of strength/velocity and being able to throw pint point beautiful dimes off their back feet like Rodgers/Mahomes. Probably the two greatest QB’s ever though.
No one with his tools would have a plan B, and that's what makes it lazy to say he should have.Does he want to stay in the NFL?
Here, in Bill James' big historical abstract book, he posits that baseball players like Kirby Puckett probably have to be better than average to even get to the big leagues and that MLB players with that body type are probably all above-average because scouts would always argue against them. They had to overcome that to eventually "make it."So, at the highest level, the ability to succeed is more dependent on football IQ rather than raw physical talent.
I sort of see the same thing with all-time great QBs - Montana didn't have a special arm or running ability, Brady didn't, Manning didn't, and Brees didn't (esp post-shoulder injury).
Favre did, Marino did, and some others, but they're not considered to be the best in hushed tones over an open fire.
The magical ones are - the ones with guile and happenstance and sheer will....you know, the silliness people come up with when discussing NFL QBs.
Those guys who just had a "good enough" arm HAD to do more in order to be good or great. If Peyton Manning's dad was a truck driver, he'd have been a decent college QB that most of us kind of remember. He HAD to be a deep-dive football nerd son-of-a-player who could call his own game in order to "make it."
.
But alas, this is why I usually steer clear of NFL stuff, because the backwards horseshit way QBs are considered drives me insane. As if 80% of their careers isn't determined by sheer luck.
I notice you leave Brees off your list of Peyton/Brady. Brees had all the pocket scientist, field general qualities and threw with elite level accuracy. He had sneaky good running ability, though. He would never be described as a "running QB", but he was elusive in the pocket and very smart about when to scramble for yards. It was just one more thing defenses needed to worry about, and one more thing was enough.Brees is obviously an all-time great who will walk into the HoF one day. I just happen to think Brady is the best, and Manning probably the 2nd best to ever do it.
This Cam talk is idiocy.Wtf? You off your meds or something?
When should Cam Newton have relied on his pocket scientist/field generalness (whatever the fuck THAT means)????
Should he have thrown the ball softer?
Should he have refused to scramble for first downs?
When?
In HS?
College?
On his way to the SB?
.
Fucking idiocy.
And so without his physical tools, he's not smart enough? What!?
You succeed with the tools you have. When they're gone, you're no longer effective.
Let's give ole Tom Terrific there an eye patch. Let's see how great he is then. I bet he won't be smart enough to be a good NFL QB.
Oh, I know, let's give Peyton Manning downs syndrome!!! Yes!! Let's take his intellect away and see how he performs!!!
.
Saying Cam Newton isn't good because he's not smart enough is lazy as hell.
Wtf? You off your meds or something? When did he go back on?;D
Chris Godwin got away with a bad PI thereThe only thing needed to get reviewed right there was the referee's jobs.I've always felt every play should be reviewable and a team should be able to flag one play or call per qtr - for that reason right there. The networks can break for commercials don't need to watch reviews. With all the technology available the only thing missing is common sense . And knobs like Goodell sit on their arrogant asses in their ivory towers at 50 million a year and do nothing. It's one of the many reasons I've hated the NFL for quite some time
Zeke was great, when Dallas had the best offensive line in the league. Their offensive line is horrible now, and he is mediocre. That's not his fault, But I think calling him one of the best running backs in the league was a little premature. He's fineAgreed. I want the old o-line and therefore the old Zeke back.
Mike McCarthy is awful. That’s all.Bucs defense only allowed two players over 60 yards in a game rushing in all of 2020.
Zeke Elliot looks like he’s in great physical shape. So what does Mike McCarthy do?
Give him like 6 carries through 3 quarters and put that Pollard guy in just as much if not more than Zeke.
It’s like McCarthy doesn’t realize you can also run the football sometimes. I can see why Rodgers couldn’t wait for him to leave.

I don’t watch the NFL much these days, so my take might be dated. AFAIK Cam never won the SB, he played in it once and got his arse handed to him. Then after the game he cried like a little bitch. So when I disagree and provide actual support for my opinions, that's "going nuclear?"
Orange AfroMan: I’m not sure why you always go nuclear when someone disagrees with you.
So when I disagree and provide actual support for my opinions, that's "going nuclear?"
The poster basically ended up agreeing with me that his analysis was lazy and that he never liked Newton. But I went nuclear. Mkay.
"I know people..."
"There are studies..."
"People are saying..."
These are the phrases used by people failing at pretending to be valid.
They're not valid.
Ignore them.
to recap:Well Wentz certainly looked like all that his rookie season until he tore his acl up late season ironically vs the Rams. He's had some injuries and now a broken foot, sure in the big picture he obviously has been incredibly overpaid, though sans the injuries I wouldn't say he SUX.And Goff had 338 yds with 3 tds and 1 pk putting up 33 pts yesterday
Matt Stafford is actually really good. Rams are going to go deep into the playoffs now that they have an actual QB. And now that Stafford is on an actual team people will see that he's actually pretty damn awesome.
Jared Goff still sucks. So does Carson Wentz. How did these guys ever get hype/fat contracts? They both suck at football.
I don’t know man. I think anyway you want to slice it, he was an amazing player for a short run there. Unfortunately, his body starting breaking down and betraying him-Oh really? He gets a pass but Wentz gets a knee destroyed(as a Rookie)and he SUX.Makes sense
Nobody is saying that Cam shouldn't have maximized his advantages while he had them.
The problem is that his skill set, that relied so much on running the ball, has a shelf life. Simply put, it's hard to play that way, to absorb that many hits, and to also have a long caree
I think that was the point. Cam never made his money based on his smarts or his arm/accuracy. He happened to have an amazing season, winning a SBHuh? did i miss something?
Ya that's how i feel about Lamar Jackson, exciting, elusive and decent when the run sets up the pass.Just the deeper in the season ya go good defenses adjust. So you have to thread the needleHuh? did i miss something?I think Lamar has a skill similar to Alvin Kamara--you rarely get a square hit on him.
No, it's more like this...Well I find it douchey that people choose to have the discussion, but do so lazily. I'm such a jerk.
I have skepticism to the claims made in that thread, but I managed to express them and press for additional information without being a douche.
You... Not so much.
Oh really? He gets a pass but Wentz gets a knee destroyed(as a Rookie)and he SUX.Makes senseCam won a league MVP, was a ROY & set all kinds of rookie passing records, took his teams deep to the playoffs yearly and even took his team to a Super Bowl. When did Wentz do any of this?
He appeared to be on his way when his knee was whacked and Philly still wenzt ;D on to win a SB.Philly got better and won a Super Bowl without him. Foles played out of his mind in the playoffs. Not sure they even get there with Wentz in the line-up.
Charles woodson is too much of a raiders legend, to have to sit next to Al Davis's embarrassment of a childLMAO
I think Lamar has a skill similar to Alvin Kamara--you rarely get a square hit on him.Russell Wilson does this better than any QB I have ever seen. Knows when to slide, also feels pressure well and starts falling in the opposite direction when he knows he can't escape and he'll be hit. And he's played w/ some really really bad OLs in his career.
My mistake on the SB thing--I thought he had one.
Yeah, a QB taking on LBs in the run game is NOT the TB12 method lol.Not a good idea to take on NFL LB's lol.
The Steelers really didn't have blitz to pressure Allen either. The front 4 did more than enough on their own, allowing the LBs to drop into coverage or play containment. 3 sacks on the day.Yes, and Ben was the worst QB by PFF in Week 1 I believe I saw. So the whole thing was "Ben is washed". Well, yes, he is. But they just beat probably the preseason #2 team in the AFC with him being the worst QB in the league. That's not a recipe for winning big, but with as injured as Baltimore is, Cincy still maybe a year away, and the Browns the perpetual "I'll believe it when they actually win a division title", I wouldn't be shocked to see a 10-7 type Pittsburgh team win the division.
The rumors of the Steelers demise were greatly exaggerated. TJ Watt is an absolute animal. Best defensive player in the league.

It's a Super Bowl caliber defense but it's held back by the offense. Ben is absolutely washed up and that OL is stank. I like that Najee Harris draft pick and the WR's are pretty good, but without a good OL and with a washed up QB- that superb defense is going to be wasted. They ain't going anywhere even if they make it to the playoffs.

Because I believe Purdue was not on MSU's schedule the past two years, I'm sad we were robbed of Rondale Moore. He is already a gamechanger in that Arizona offense.knew he was going to be a problem in that offense. D-Hop is a dominant #1, AJ Green on the downside of his storied career but can still play at high level in spurts, Christian Kirk pretty decent #3. Moore going to get lot of 1-on-1’s with safeties and linebackers who have zero chance of covering him.
I have to admit as one who usually does not get all that excited about the NFL, the several games I watched yesterday were incredibly exciting to watch.
As I have said here before, if you asked me why I don’t find NFL football as exciting I actually couldn’t give you a specific answer. It’s just always seem like the players are so good they cancel each other out and you don’t see the big chunk gains an exciting place that you see with college football.
But yesterday I watched the Dallas versus the chargers game which was amazing and then last night I watched the ravens versus the Chiefs.
Both of those games were extremely entertaining and kept my interest from start to finish which usually does not happen with NFL games for me like college football does.
Yeah I'm afraid the Cowboys are gonna be the cardiac kids this year and make every game close. They lost by 2 to Tampa Bay last week, and beat the Chargers by 3 this week. Gonna be a gut-wrenching year for Dallas fans, I think.Fortunately for the Cowgirls they play in the Least and should run away with that god awful division. Dak looks really good and that WR crew is no joke.
Just to add on to that Moore discussion, about guys we didn't get to see in the Big Ten last year, how about Dallas putting Micah Parsons at defensive end for the first time since high school, and he goes out and dominates. Through two weeks the offensive and defensive rookies of the year could be two big 10 players who opted out last yearMoore didn't opt out. He said he was going to and then came back.
Fortunately for the Cowgirls they play in the Least and should run away with that god awful division. Dak looks really good and that WR crew is no joke.
Moore didn't opt out. He said he was going to and then came back.I definitely forgot he played last year, lol
Unfortunately he missed the first 3 games of the year as he tweaked a lower body injury and then only got 3 games because Purdue lost 2 of their scheduled 8 due to COVID. At that point Purdue's season was in a tailspin, the defense was toast, and it was a screwy season in so many ways.
In those three games, he notched 35 catches for 270 yards (no TD's) and 6 rushes for 32 yards. No TDs though. Definitely pretty solid stats in general, but all three games were losses (to MN, Rutger, and UNL) and nobody gave a crap about what Purdue was doing at that point so nobody watched. It paled in comparison to his opening salvo of 313 all-purpose yards against Nebraska in the 2018 opener and embarrassing the entire Ohio State defense on national TV in a night game in 2018.
Those games were so immaterial that you'd forgotten that he hadn't opted out, but 35 catches for 270 yards is not like he didn't perform.
Is Pittsburgh’s Week 1 win Vs Buffalo an oddity? We’re only two games into the season but the Steelers are getting outgained by the opponent’s offense by an average of just over 100 more yards. And worse, Big Ben looks older and his OL looks slower into the latter stages of each game, which can’t bode well when there’s so little support from the ground game, so far averaging only 57 yds/game – good for dead last in the NFL. Drafting Najee Harris at Running Back is doing more for the passing game the rushing game at this point – 43 yds receiving Vs 38 yds rushing this past Sunday Vs the Raiders.
Defense will only carry this body bag of an offense so far. Loser of this Sunday’s upcoming Steelers-Bengals showdown finishes last in the division.
don't look now but Panthers 3-0 with impressive back-to-back 19 pt & 15 pt wins over the Saints and Texans. How bad is the CMC injury?
Wasn't sure they'd get 3 wins all-season. Already there at 3-0 and Darnold has looked much better than I thought possible. Maybe the Jets really are just one of those Detroit Lions like franchises that brings all the players down and are just a sad sack of shit franchise.
Didn't look like Ravens got the prior play off in time. Should have been 71 yard attempt. But Lions deserve to lose for that 4th and 19 defenseOk,I'm not crazy
Didn't look like Ravens got the prior play off in time. Should have been 71 yard attempt. But Lions deserve to lose for that 4th and 19 defense66 yards is too easy in a dome for him, been wanting him to try from 70

Haskins was the one OSU QB I had faith in, making it in the NFL Once he failed, I was set that the rest wouldThe difference between Fields and Haskins is Mars and Venus.
Yes if you look at Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, Trevor Lawrence and Justin fields they all got smoked yesterdayRodgers & Mahomes are the two most talented QB's I've ever seen. And both of them rode the bench before they got in there. Might be something to that, to bring a guy along slowly. NFL QB is hardest position to play in all of sports. Probably not a bad idea to ease the guy into that. Put them in too soon and you risk them getting beat up and their confidence shattered.
Not everyone can sit behind a starter for a season or two or three and learn like Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers got to do.
Peyton Manning through 28 interceptions in his first season and Troy Aikman through 36 in his first two seasons so sometimes you wonder if it’s better to just let them go out there and get beat up and learn.
Haskins was the one OSU QB I had faith in, making it in the NFL Once he failed, I was set that the rest wouldHaskins had the best arm of any OSU QB that I've ever seen and that 50 TD pass season was nuts. He should've been a good NFL QB. I think Fields will be good in NFL. Just needs to get out of that Bears situation. Sam Darnold looks like a completely different guy away from the Jets and Adam Gase. Matt Nagy is a joke of a coach just like Adam Gase was/is.
Peyton Manning through 28 interceptions in his first season and Troy Aikman through 36 in his first two seasons so sometimes you wonder if it’s better to just let them go out there and get beat up and learn.I get that but the poor bastage got sacked 9 x yesterday.Only thing you can learn there is run for your fookin' life. Granted Myles Garret is one of the top 5 D-Lineman ,maybe Thee Top.And Clowney is no slouch Malik McDowell is playing good also.Fields won't being seeing that every week but many a prospect got buried before ever getting a real chance because the surrounding cast was - MEH.
Chicago Bears just bought 326 acres of land from Churchill Downs Inc. for $197 million in Arlington Heights about an hour outside of Chicago. Looks like Solider Field no more as the Bears gearing up to move to the 'burbs. Can they just use whatever technology came with the alien spaceship and move it there, and then restore Soldier Field to its historic state?
Yeah, soldier field to that town is 28 miles, and it takes 1 hour, 6 minutes. :oshould change the name to the Arlington Heights Bears.
should change the name to the Arlington Heights Bears.LOL I'm pretty sure they all went to Florida.
Chicago is a weird ass town to me. It's a megacity smackdab in the midwest. It's like the place where all the lonely midwest farmer boys and farmer gals dreaming for something more flocked to. Weird accents, weird food, and weirdos.
LOL I'm pretty sure they all went to Florida.I went to California at least. But if you want weirdos... They refer to "Florida man" for a reason...
LOL I'm pretty sure they all went to Florida.Nah. Not that many people from Chicago in South Florida, thankfully. Haven't seen any of those weird ass hotdog places or disgusting casserole places they refer to as pizza, nor run into any disgusting Chicago accents. Maybe they all frequent the West Coast of Florida? They don't call Tampa the armpit of Florida for no reason.
I went to California at least. But if you want weirdos... They refer to "Florida man" for a reason...Which Florida Man? There are a couple of live wires on this board,"live" being a flexible adjective
I went to California at least. But if you want weirdos... They refer to "Florida man" for a reason...Yeah, there are a shit-ton of Florida Crackers. Thankfully South Florida has been built up so much and become so expensive to live in, they are mostly gone from this area and moved into other parts of the state. Go north or west of South Florida, and you definitely run the risk of running into "Florida Man".
Well he is doing Subway ads. That's really down market and lowbrow for Brady.guy doesn't eat anything, and he's schilling disgusting processed food for Subway. Subway just got hit with a lawsuit because their "tuna" was found to have zero traces of DNA from...well....tuna. Cash money homie.
should change the name to the Arlington Heights Bears.midwest farmer boys and girls don't dream of Chitown

Why is Brady just now doing ads and stuff after all these years? Seems kind of strange that he's had ~20 years to do this and all of a sudden he's pimping stuff? Don't tell me he needs the money, I won't believe it.He has done ads for a while, but they were for clothes and cologne. Not sandwiches that he wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, and cell service.

I was a waiter in college. I was actually impressed on how little regard chain restaurants had for their employees.Waiting is a better insider take of a job than Office Space.

The Jets are off the schneid.
Weren't Brown and Julio both out? Granted that doesn't explain Wilson shredding them
This is why I NEVER bet on the NFL. It’s too unpredictable. Picked the Titans for this week’s survivor pool pick and wouldn’t you know, Zach Wilson had a coming out party. 2 TDs and just shy of 300 yds passing.
On the other side of the ball Titan’s offense is boom or bust. If they don’t come up with the big play they stutter out because despite having the right parts they’ve had no success establishing a rhythm.
You did know that both starting WRs were out? Julio Jones and A.J. Brown I looked that game over and went with Buffalo.Just saw ELAs comment we have until 8 PM thursday to get our picks in so plenty of time to look over the injury reports

Bucs just need to get 7 yards to basically end the game. And what does Arians call? Deep pass to the end-zone to Brown on 2nd down and then the exact same play next down- deep pass to end-zone to Brown on 3rd down. Like seriously, WTF did I just watch? You watched a reciever (Brown) who you like drop a ball in the end zone. That 2nd pass couldn't have been hand delivered any better.Arians used the element of surprise and it should of worked displaying confidence in his offense - go for the jugular, nothing ventured - nothing gained
One reason I dislike the NFL, a lesser reason, if the Falcons would be my "home team".Try following the Browns for decades. Two seasons where they went 1-31.In the late '80s 2 seasons where they were stopped on the door step of the Super Bowl TWICE losing B2B AFC Championships in the last minute
Hapless, hopeless, and horrific, able to blow even safe leads.
Try following the Browns for decades. Two seasons where they went 1-31.In the late '80s 2 seasons where they were stopped on the door step of the Super Bowl TWICE losing B2B AFC Championships in the last minuteReally?
Really?Yes. When the folks I meet down here in Florida find out that I came from Michigan and assume I am a Lions fan, They actually laugh but also have sincere pity for me.
We are doing this?
The Lions have won one playoff game in my lifetime, in the entire Super Bowl era, and it was 30 years ago
Really? That's what they deserve after moving the team from Portsmouth

Ummm...try again?I should have included ;D,sheesh ya think ya know someone
LOL. For real.I agree Millen was horrific as a GM,but not to be out done in ineptitude the Browns did go 1-15 & 0-16 B2B.The former owner takes the team and leaves and gets a Championship,Belichick leaves gets multiples.Hell when BB cut Kozar for Todd Philcox he was picked up by the Cowboys and won a SB THAT YEAR in Dallas.Snake bit and cursed no doubt about it
Not to mention....
0-16.
Matt Millen.
How much Los Angeles cares about the Chargers: 75% of the crowd was pro-Raiders tonight...That is going to be the annual reminder of how badly the NFL screwed that up
The Lions last won the NFC Central in 1993.The Cleveland Browns have not won the AFC North since the NFL realigned its divisions in 2002. Cleveland won the AFC Central, the precursor to the AFC North, six times. The Browns earned the division title in 1971, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1989.
That is going to be the annual reminder of how badly the NFL screwed that upOh, my favorite thing about the Chargers is that by coming to LA they blocked the Raiders from returning.
If the Broncos didn't want that to happen, perhaps they shouldn't have put themselves into that position. It was stupid by the Ravens, but I also don't get complaining about it
I might be sympathetic to that argument in HS sports, but the NFL? GTFO of here with that whining.
I get going for the record but a freak injury sure as hell negates that with a win already in the bag.Is it a record?
what a drive by Burrow and clutch 4th down conversion with his legs and 2 pt conversion throw. wow.I don't think he was too happy to go to the Bengals as owner incompetence could leave him w/ a Rivers like career/frequently injured. Tho he might have softened as at the very least got good skill pos guys. They better offer him 45-50M/yr the year before he hits FA. Because 1/2 the teams in the league would gladly pay 2 No.1s and all the money for him.
just turned on the Cowboys - Giants. They had shots of Saquon Barkley on the sideline with his ankle the size of an elephants foot. Looked like a nasty ankle injury.that was Tyrod Taylor levels of bad luck there
I think the guy is a hell of a player with HOF level talent, but he's not going to make it there if he's always injured. It's like he's made out of glass or something.
The Browns picking up the back and carrying him into the end zone is an all timerBeen sweating my fantasy matchup all afternoon looking like it was tight because I had Ekeler and my opponent had Waller, and then in the 4th Ekeler gets three TDs, including the one he was actively trying NOT to score.
Gruden gone.Isn't he still owed like $60 million? I'd say there are a lot more
Sounds like there were a lot more emails than that from the context...
Gruden gone.Apparently he was emailing former GM of Redskins who is his friend, and was critical of Goodell saying things like Goodell should stop pressuring teams to draft “queers” (Michael Sam saga) and also making fun of Goodell calling him a “faggot”.
Sounds like there were a lot more emails than that from the context...

Bills smoke the Chiefs 38-20. Chiefs now 2-3. The beginning of the end of a dynasty that never was?Chiefs still really good. Mahomes isn't really on a cap killer deal either they are gonna be around for a long time. they might be just a wild card/divisional round team this year tho.
Is all that confirmed ?I knew about the centerOnly one that might return is Cephus (#1 WR). He has a broken collarbone. Other three are all season ending
Season ending surgery for Ragnow.Corral isn't even a 1st round pick imo. Not sure I'd take him anywhere higher than the 4th rd to be honest.
0-17 is truly in play. You take a bad team; then take out their best OL, their best pass rusher, their #1 WR, and their #1 CB for the season.
Big yikes.
Of course it's not in a year with a generational QB at the top. Not sold on Matt Corral as a sure fire pro.
His comments about Roger Goodell explain this coordinated takedown by the NFL HQ.1000%.
Good old fashioned vengeance.
Goodell may well have opened a can of worms he didn't expect would open.awesome. I hope it gets out and it's really bad and he gets accused of trying to cover it up and it just blows up in his face and Goodell is forced to resign. I hate the stupid smug prick.

Roger Goodell- the biggest assclown in sports- in those emails- and everything Jon Gruden related leaks out for some odd reason but nothing else.My blood boils at the mention or sight of him. This is what is wrong IMHO with pro sports.A shit stain like this pulls in North of 50 mil.,yet cash stapped cities communities have been bullied/bullshitted into thinking they'll lose out $$$$$ when their franchise is moved because they won't build sports complexes/meccas for these corporate pirates.
Goodell had it in for him. He's a petty little cuck.
Maybe Tennessee and Gruden always needed each other

and just how would you know so much about searches on pornhub???
I'm calling BS. Droopy balls? Boats? Bosm? Goth hospital? Skin?
Nobody searches these terms on Pornhub, let alone the vast majority of searches from an entire state.
Most of the others are somewhat believable, but these ones totally blow their cover.
and just how would you know so much about searches on pornhub???he's done his fair share of "research" on the platform. haven't we all?
What a game, what an ending.hopefully the drama with Urbz dies down a little now.
Jacksonville gets the win!
Incredible
I have had this entire game on.That's an understatement.
The officiating has been…….interesting.
Boys win it!
That's an understatement.I just feel like if the officiating has been more fair and balanced the game would not have been all that close and Dallas would’ve won by at least a couple of touchdowns. And I have no dog in the fight.
Amen brutha. That was a heck of a ballgame. Glad the good guys won.
And I have no dog in the fight.Nor did I seems neither the officials or meteor show up.And the Browns keep getting rolled like a Cheech and Chong blunt.Their injury report is celebrating Halloween early
I just feel like if the officiating has been more fair and balanced the game would not have been all that close and Dallas would’ve won by at least a couple of touchdowns. And I have no dog in the fight.Oh I agree. But if I say anything, then it's "whining about the refs."
Lot of people prolly went out on Jacksonville last week endActually, a lot of people went out on Tennessee in my pool. I saw that the Jags game was in London and stayed away.
Lot of people prolly went out on Jacksonville last week endI dunno... The 0-5 Jags were playing the 1-4 Dolphins. Someone picking the Dolphins would be going out on a pretty giant limb there.
Derrick Henry is throwing touchdown passes now?he's the best non-QB offensive player in the game. I love watching the guy play football. He's like the Calvin Johnson of RB's- if that makes any sense. He just doesn't make sense- guys like him should not exist. He's so big, so fast, so strong, so powerful, and so fluid that it's scary.
what the heck happened in Kansas City?not the first dynasty that never was to buy into their own hype and fall apart at the seams.
My neighbors told me this was the next dynasty
not the first dynasty that never was to buy into their own hype and fall apart at the seams. Not so fast my friend,ya there's a drop off but that's still a young talented squad getting seasoned with adversity. They could run the table or come back like gang busters
Looks like they are going the way of the Greatest Show on Turf and Legion of Boom.
what the heck happened in Kansas City?Defense got worse
My neighbors told me this was the next dynasty
Thought the Bengals were stupid for picking Chase over Sewell. I was crazy wrong.me too. only because I didn't want Burrow to get his brains battered in, broken in half and his career cut short by injury. In retrospect- it's probably A LOT harder to find a truly elite WR than it is to rebuild a bad OL.
7 targets, 7 rec, 174yards 1TD. Crazy he's 41st in targets and might be as high as #3 on the yardage list after today.
so if the Chiefs dynasty really does die off before it ever got started....anybody else find it crazy that Tom Brady will have had a hand in ending 3 dynasties before they ever began?C'mon winning One and returning for another is impressive but hardly a dynasty
Greatest Show on Turf - 2001 Super Bowl
Legion of Boom - 2014 Super Bowl
The Super Duper Mahomes - 2020 Super Bowl
C'mon winning One and returning for another is impressive but hardly a dynastyYeah, that's what I'm saying.....
Justin Fields taking a beating, 4 sacks, 1 INT, and 3 Fumbles while Chicago is down 35-3 at the half to Tampa Bay.I completely agree with you on this one. The worst thing that happened to him was getting drafted by the Bears.
If I'm Bears owners, I am sitting Fields for the 2nd half and sitting him all year to make sure he doesn't get injured, firing Matt Nagy effective immediately, and looking for a coach that is all-in on developing Justin Fields in 2022 and beyond. Joe Brady?
Unless you call me a p****, and I want to prove you correct, nothing else will be releasedLmao. Wow.

Roger Goodell is exactly what Jon Gruden said he is in those emails.
F#ck Roger Goodell.
depending on the air tempRBs like it cold and rainy. They get the ball on just about every play, and no one wants to tackle them.
probably didn't need to worry in Florida
RBs like it cold and rainy. They get the ball on just about every play, and no one wants to tackle them.Yup. The big switch has been how so much of the NFL's passing game is timing related. The best quarterbacks I think enjoy playing in the snow, because their timing routes still work, but the DBs can't adjust. Brady and Rodgers are nearly unbeatable in the snow
Brady and Rodgers are nearly unbeatable in the snowBrady's been pretty good in Florida also
I watched the MNF with Peyton and Eli calling the game on ESPN2, and I gotta say I think that's my preferred format from now on.This. Other broadcasts are just unwatchable to me in comparison.
And a little Marshawn Lynch F-bomb live on the air was fun too.
Cards upended and Rodgers didn't have his starting WR's because of covid.Cards exciting but predictable,72 Dolphins are smilingI think even they would rather delay it by a week than see the Packers win
IMHO both Kyler and Lamar are on a similiar trajectory. They can run like the wind and are exciting but have to develop a throwers mindset..Those teams are good enough that they won't be drafting high and have to develop roster if they're getting to and winning Conference ChampionshipsKyler is a hell of a passer. He's far ahead of where Lamar is at the moment imo.
if the WR gets his head around, it very well may have been the game winnerExactly. That ball was thrown to where only his player would have a chance at it. AJG was blocking out the defender and was between him and the QB.

Exactly. That ball was thrown to where only his player would have a chance at it. AJG was blocking out the defender and was between him and the QB.that was like a corner route back shoulder throw to back of end-zone- and it was a really low throw. NOT the throw you make in that situation imo.
Only problem was that he wasn't paying attention. He let it go right by him.
Roger Goodell out there doing god's work, for a small $64 million a year stipendThe fact that he makes this much money per year blows my mind. Literally anyone can do that job.

Goodell is in power because he’s a willing and effective FIXER for Billionaires. This is exactly it,our economy is going south and these uber rich shit stains are pumping sunshine up the publics ass.The meager paying jobs their venues provide doesn't balance out the tax money put into them.I've voted against 3 "Sin Taxes" for the Browns/Beisbol/Cavaliers .They have hood winked the masses and the political shills that are worried about their jobs instead of allocating many, many millions in tax revenue appropriately. This has been a problem with these Pirates for decades
The NFL has at least 7 or 8 soulless owners at any given time. It often takes cold ruthlessness to be a Billionaire. And because the NFL needs owners it needs whatever few Billionaires it can get,

Rams are finalizing a deal to trade for Denver Broncos All-Pro OLB Von Miller. They had the #1 overall pick and drafted Jared Goff. So they are perhaps correct to not want them
I guess the Rams are like...who the hell needs draft picks these days? They won't have a 1st round draft pick til 2040 at this rate.

They are 1st in the AFC West. For now.

Thursday night NFL is the worst thing to happen to football. They completely killed what had been a fun night of college football, because it couldn't compete with the ratings of what is generally an unwatchable NFL game. Louisville should have been storming the field after upsetting Wake Forest last night.
When it comes to getting the VAX, turns out Aaron Rodgers' "double check" really is "discount."
As for last night's Thursday game between the Jets and the Colts, I tried dutifully watching but only lasted halfway into the third quarter.
With Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco both looking like Planet Fitness trainers in gym clothes on the Jets sideline, I've never heard of Mike White, presumably from the NFL's Backup QB Central Casting, who was trotted out in their place. Had to look up that White played his college ball at South Florida and Western Kentucky.
Quarterbacking on the other side was Carson Wentz whose stat line (22/30 272yds 3tds) bettered a 90 QBR for the Colts. It's almost a relief to watch Carson Wentz now that the announcers calling his games have fully moved on from endlessly hyping Wentz up in a way that holds him to unreasonable, HOF level expectations on every play. And Wentz looks a lot better for getting out from under the radar of the Eagles obsessive media and fans.
Browns release OBJ. Odell gave up 20% of his guaranteed salary to leave the Browns. He structured his deal in a way he could get out but be too expensive to be claimed off waivers. This guaranteeing he goes into FA and can choose his team.
He structured his deal in a way he could get out but be too expensive to be claimed off waivers. This guaranteeing he goes into FA and can choose his team.Oh I know, and he's probably got plenty of money if he didn't spend it all at the club, on cars, jewelry, and bitches- but I don't know if I give up 20% of whatever they owe me. That's got to be a couple million dollars in cash he's giving up this year. I'd be like- PAY ME BITCH.
And the Browns will have to cover the difference between his salary at the new team and what they owe him, so he's "cheap" enough to his new team to be paid the vet minimum. Same thing Lev Bell did a few years ago.
Savvy, not desperate.
understatement of the monthunderstatement of the century.

OK,shut up and play bitch could he do that?that's always been his problem. he's a freaking diva. NY Giants were like- we good- and now the Browns are like- nah we good too bro- see ya!
He structured his deal in a way he could get out but be too expensive to be claimed off waivers. This guaranteeing he goes into FA and can choose his team.He got a ton of mileage off one catch. He's good, but even at his peak, he was overrated. And now? DPJ > OBJ

Naturally when I bet Baltimore, Kirk Cousins engineers a 2 minute game tying driveThe Vikings were involved. Naturally, they soil themselves at the end.

With big favorites losing, survivor pools might be over this week, unless everyone gets beat, whereupon everyone gets a mulligan.
What game was it last year where OBJ ran a reverse for a game winning TD?Cowboys Game
Steelers Crap 2021:
Thinking the Steelers bottom out and finish as the AFC North’s worst team. Big Ben is ready to collapse. They’re depending their league worst rushing attack on a rookie, Najee Harris. Which is somehow less of a worry than who might effectively block for him.
In the off season Pittsburgh lost FOUR serviceable starters – Matt Feiler, Alejandro Villanueva, and Pro Bowlers Maurkice Pouncey and David DeCastro. Their replacements, if not rookies, are inexperienced depth players, and to make matters worse, projected starter Zach Banner is out next month with knee injuries.
So along with Big Ben past his shelf life, it’s looking like he’ll be passing behind the worst OL he’s ever taken snaps from. And that could render the already overrated WRs almost useless.
Refs were probably distracted by all the stupid penalties the Bears committed. Complete lack of discipline.
Lots of bitter reaction on homer Bears radio re Justin Fields not drawing late hit penalties. Fields played great in the 4th Q. Nagy acts like a buffoon on the sideline – not sure how much longer the sad chap keeps his gig.
I thought he got a bad rap in Cleveland. Also, the video his dad released showing him open was set to Everybody Hurts, which I found really funny.Yeah, gonna have to disagree. He was a malcontent who did not want to be there, despite having his BFF Jarvis already there.
Bad rap? He wasn't or isn't a team player, watch Nick Chubb - that's what professionals do.The punk didn't like NYC,evidently ELI and his two rings were not good enough. The Diva got more press from one catch than anyone in the league.Just shut up and play, not a coincidence they rolled both last year and last sunday when he didn't figure inDid he say anything? I don't remember making a single statement about anything while in Cleveland. He was the embodiment of shut up and play. From what I've heard the biggest problem is Mayfield sucks throwing the routes OBJ is best at, which is why it looked so wonky all the time.

From what I've heard the biggest problem is Mayfield sucks throwing the routes OBJ is best at, which is why it looked so wonky all the time. There were rumblings about what was said in the locker room/huddle not privy to the air waves. But OBJ was notorious for not running routes and free lancing on the field. The QB looks in a spot expecting a reciever after check offs and walla,no reciever.Kind of kills timing patterns or confidence to do as the play designs.Listened to this stuff quite a bit on 850/92.3 talk.Just disruptive enough that he thought the rules didn't pertain to him.
This is why any discussion of him taking the LSU or USC job is hilarious. You don't leave the NFL for college, even before the transfer portal, if staying in the NFL is an option. And if he wants to stay in the NFL, he can. He and the Steelers may reach an amicable breakup after this year, just because he's been there for so long and they are ready for a rebuild, but if he wants to coach next year, it sure is hell won't be in college, and any NFL team with an opening would be happy to have him
Before it got wild with the Bears last night, Mike Tomlin is proving my preseason reports of the Steelers’ demise as greatly exaggerated. Pittsburgh, in controlling much of the game against the Bears displayed a well-coached formula of winning ugly with dependable defense and scoring points when you can while working around Big Ben's age inflicted limitations. Pittsburgh’s offensive line has developed much better than expected and Najee Harris is able to churn out the tougher third-n-short yards. Steelers 5-3 and keeping pace in the AFC playoff race.
Lots of bitter reaction on homer Bears radio re Justin Fields not drawing late hit penalties. Fields played great in the 4th Q. Nagy acts like a buffoon on the sideline – not sure how much longer the sad chap keeps his gig.

Most people that carry water for Krapperdick wouldn't know a football from their arse.Kapernick career completion % is 58.9%. This is GOD awful in the modern game. If you're not completing at least 60% today- you absolutely suck at throwing the football.
top 5 QB's in NFL history imo;In your life
Tom Brady
Joe Montana
Peyton Manning
John Elway
Aaron Rodgers
Kapernick career completion % is 58.9%. This is GOD awful in the modern game. If you're not completing at least 60% today- you absolutely suck at throwing the football. You are assuming that they have the ability to form opinions of their own, that haven't been spoon fed to them by the MSM.
Rodgers? His career completion % is 65%. His TD to INT ratio is a MIND-BOGGLING 4.66 to 1 and is by far the best in NFL history. Rodgers has thrown for 429 TD's to 92 INT's. At the rate Rodgers throws INT's- he'll have a legit shot to hit 500 TD's before he hits 100 INT's. His MVP season last year he completed 70% of his passes- this year he's completing just shy of 68%.
If Kapernick was anywhere near as good at playing football as Aaron Rodgers is- he'd have a job right now.
Newsflash: Kapernick was not good at football. Aaron Rodgers is legitimately arguably the most talented Quarterback to ever play in the NFL- and he is one of the 5 or 10 greatest QB's to ever play in the history of the NFL. I'd argue top 5. Kapernick is not in the same universe as Aaron Rodgers. IF he was, he could've taken a knee, refused a vaccine, clubbed a baby seal, kicked a dog, and taken 3 shits on the field while he was taking a knee and he'd have an NFL job TODAY.Take that back about the dog
In your lifehe's been told stories about Joe Montana

Every Thanksgiving, as soon as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade gets turned on, it feels more and more antiquated by the year. As do the Lions who play next, made all the worse this year by matching Detroit against lifeless Chicago. Why won’t the Bears go ahead a fire Nagy already? I’ve seen this sentiment penned by a number of Chicago’s beat writers – “In its more than 100-year history, the team has never fired a coach midseason” – as though some moral virtue is boldly upheld by waiting for Nagy to ungraciously finish the season. Maintaining a sense of decency doesn’t/shouldn’t count for crap in sports, speaking of antiquated.I've never liked it, but the kids actually do. They've leaned more into the musical acts, and away from just showing floats. It's one of those things I don't mind putting on while I'm cooking, cleaning, prepping, in the morning. Feels like Thanksgiving.
Lions-Bears tied at 0.
Rogers is a whiny sissy boy - selfish crybaby pee pantsdon't disagree with you on his personality- he seems like a major league bitch and he's shrunk in a lot of big moments in the post-season. having said that- he is still to this day the best thrower of the football I have ever seen. Never thought I'd see someone better at throwing the football than Dan Marino- but this guy just is.
hopefully keeps him off the list
I think Chicago should think long and hard about making a play for Ryan Day- think that'd have to be appealing to reunite their young 1st round QB with Day.You're just trying to get him out of Columbus...
I think Chicago should think long and hard about making a play for Ryan DayI think you should shut your whore mouth. Here's hoping Saturday's game is close enough for a Harbaugh extension
I think you should shut your whore mouth. Here's hoping Saturday's game is close enough for a Harbaugh extensionjust sayin' man....Cardinals went with Kliff to develop Kyler- and that's working like gangbusters. Cardinals are 9-2 and first seed right now in the NFC. Bears might want to think about doing something similar to develop Fields.
:cheer:
If this were to happen, I think Fick could still keep the recruiting going, but I just can't see how the offensive play calling would stay at is current level. Perhaps the defense would improve, but this brand of Buckeye football with Day has been so fun to watch. I think he will eventually hit the league, but hopefully we will get a few more years.Nagy has to be fired. No way the Bears are keeping him. If you're the Bears- what better guy to groom your 1st round QB pick than Ryan Day?

Fickell just needs to make the right hire. He's not touching that offense.Nagy might be available and may be pretty much relegated to a college OC job...
Jackson has just thrown like 3 int's in 6 minutes. Not to be outdone in the christmas spirit the Browns throw a pick and fumble it away once. Not sure i can take it anymore
why go for 2 there? To win?
To win?go to ot and win it there
go to ot and win it thereIt's a coin flip either way. Save your team the wear and tear
Wasn't she throwing food at 49ers fans a couple weeks ago?yeah she threw a pretzel at a 49ers fan.
I believe the correct word for someone like her is, Karen.No- her looks take her out of that category.
Nah, Karens are the HOA tattle-tales that rat you out if your garbage can stays on the curb past 6 PM on trash day.And……. Don’t leave us hanging lol.
People misuse "Karen" all the time.
This chick sounds more like an Angie, who was the craziest girl I ever dated. Stole all my stuff when we broke up, then called the cops when I really politely told her I'd like it back. Finally gave it back about a year later when she just randomly called me and told me I could come over and get it. And when I did, not only did she give me back all my stuff, but she also wanted to get freaky right then and there.
Yup, this chick is definitely an Angie.

She was crazy-hot, and happy to do pretty much anything. I didn't pass up the opportunity. Many years later it became known as "pulling a utee."After reading the addendum,Slick would approve of that also 😎 .You Dog - got her so worked up she forgot to steal your kidneys
My wife was asking "why doesn't Matt Stafford tell her to just shut up?"LMAO,reminds me of the time myself and 5 buddies came back from a Cavaliers game at the old Richfield Coloseum. We stopped at some dive bar on the way before going home - something out of starwars. At the end of this long bar there was this huge typical biker, complete with beard, bandana, leather, colors, chains getting popped continuously by his testy, pixie, pest of a GF.She keeps cracking him,"I told you this,(crack)I told you that(crack)" and on and on it went. And he's like "gosh I'm sorry Honey".
My response, "uhh, she seems like the type of woman who you don't tell things she doesn't want to hear, lest she turn on you next."
-Been really impressed w/ Allen this year, I think he's been better this season over last year. Teams are just teeing off on him because their RBs are terrible and its only a matter of time before he gets horribly injured. Yea he's big and can take the punishment but if you've noticed over the years its the big QBs who scramble who get broken at a young age.
Poor Bills are playing the either conference's arguably best teams in matter of six days, but it sounds like a lot of Bills Mafia has made the trip to Tampa en masse. Who's to blame them given Buffalo's winters?
Just running at almost full speed while dragging a 330lb professional athlete along and throwing him into the QB.Nah. There's no argument. Just like with Barry. Barry is the best RB ever. It's not close. Aaron Donald is the best DT ever. It's not close.
https://twitter.com/Pitt_FB/status/1470564703286046720
He's the Barry Sanders of DTs, sure like Barry you could make an argument that so and so was better, and I may not even disagree. Like Barry tho, he just does stuff that makes your jaw drop and we'll probably never see anything like him again.
Nah. There's no argument. Just like with Barry. Barry is the best RB ever. It's not close. Aaron Donald is the best DT ever. It's not close.you're so 2021 ;)
Nah. There's no argument. Just like with Barry. Barry is the best RB ever. It's not close. Aaron Donald is the best DT ever. It's not close.
also: Kyler Murray is too small. I don't think he will last long.
More bullshit FACTnope. certain opinions might as well be fact.
Barry Sanders was fun to watch. I always got a big kick out of seeing him scramble around for 80 yards (4 or 5 of them actually going forward) while Emmitt Smith was setting TD records and winning Superbowls.Emmitt was a great player- but if we're being honest- this a stupid comparison. Emmitt Smith played for a Hall of Fame coach. Barry Sanders played bulk of his career for Wayne Fontes. Emmitt Smith ran behind arguably the greatest OL in NFL history. Barry Sanders had a few years with an above average OL- but for probably north of 60-70% of his career he played behind terrible OL's. Emmitt Smith played with Troy Aikman. Who was a stud #1 overall NFL draft pick and is in the NFL Hall of Fame on the 1st ballot. Barry Sanders played with Rodney Peete, Andre Ware, Eric Hipple, Bob Gagliano, Dave Krieg, Erik Kramer, Frank Reich, Don Majkowski, and Charlie Batch. Emmitt Smith played with Michael Irvin, an NFL Hall of Fame WR and was the 2nd best WR in the 90s behind only...Jerry Rice. You know, the greatest WR to ever play the game of football. Barry Sanders played with Herman Moore. Who was actually a very good WR- but still not on the same level as Michael Irvin.
nope. certain opinions might as well be fact.Bullcrap,we already had this discussion,Great back, great attitude also, lot to like but in your stroll thru the land of make believe you do get creative.Sanders led the league in rushing 4 times, quick and agile for sure.Brown did it 8 of his 9 seasons.Barry got a ton of yards playing on artificial turf where he could stop on a dime.He also lost more yards from scrimmage than anyone else.Payton,Brown,Tomlinson,Dickerson and Campbell were right there.Sayers is even with his shortened career.I saw Campbell in person 4x at old Cleveland Stadium he moved piles and punished people - the only guy I ever saw send Jack Tatem in the other direction. If he made the corner some one was going to pay.Brown played in 12 games for 4 yrs and 14 games for 5.Never missed a game in 9 seasons unanimous all-NFL 8 times. The only back in NFL history to average over 5 YPC and 100 YPG for a career retiring at age 30.And Dallas wouldn't have one another SB unless Jimmy stayed, drugs, lack of discipline, and Jerry made sure of that
anybody with a brain or set of eye balls can look at Barry Sanders and go...THAT'S NOT NORMAL. WHO THE F CAN DO THAT. WTF AM I SEEING. Ditto with Aaron Donald. Somethings, are just facts. Like LT being the best LB and defensive player ever as well.
You will never see a RB capable of doing the things Barry Sanders did, ever again. You will never see a LB or defensive player capable of doing the things LT did, ever again. You will never see a DT capable of doing the things Aaron Donald is doing right now ever again. These are 1 of 1's. Glitches in the matrix.
So it's just Mighty Ducks but instead of a fictional DUI it's a well known true life scheme to pay defensive player to injure opposing players?took out Farve in the NFC champ game

Should have won the Hypesman. His problem was Kyler Murray and then Joe Burrow had the #2 and #1 best seasons ever in P5 for QBs.
Against Arizona, what the hey, they just climed out of locking on to the very 1st pick. LION PRIDEThis is definitely the year to not care about the #1 pick
This is definitely the year to not care about the #1 pickThere has to be a keeper in there somewhere. And if the law of averages is a thing the Lions could see it show up.I have to pull for someone seems the Browns couldn't stand even 15 minutes of Warhol's fame
Buccaneers need to figure out how to avoid the Saints in the playoffsit is insane to me how the Saints both last year and this year can lose to crap teams and barely make playoffs but when they face the Bucs they just destroy them in the regular season. Every. Single. Time. Idk what they are doing that other teams can't do vs the Bucs- but my guess is Payton & his staff just have Arians figured out.
This is definitely the year to not care about the #1 pickthis. there is no franchise QB out there. there's no Trevor Lawerence or Andrew Luck this draft, which means you probably want to trade the #1 pick and acquire picks anyways.
There has to be a keeper in there somewhere. And if the law of averages is a thing the Lions could see it show up.I have to pull for someone seems the Browns couldn't stand even 15 minutes of Warhol's fameOh, I'm sure there will be. But it's not obvious who it will be, so I'm not overly concerned about getting the first crack at it
WTF,forgot they're playing how the hell did that happen?Raiders about to get sacked, threw a long bomb towards a guy - Brownie DB was in the way, didn't let the receiver just catch the ball. Though I do enjoy a five o'oclock tip. Already dark out - feels like a night game anyway.
Oh, I'm sure there will be. But it's not obvious who it will be, so I'm not overly concerned about getting the first crack at itJags already have a QB of the future and since there isn't a QB out there teams will die to get at #1, they aren't going to get a ransom for that #1 pick.
Another catch by DPJ nice run by Chubb then 4th and goal TD to DPJ ;DUrbs was right. Kid had top 10 NFL draft pick talent and Harbaugh turned him into a 6th rounder. Lol.
Ugh, ClevelandCoach should have kicked the kicker before the game
Coach should have kicked the kicker before the game(https://memegenerator.net/img/instances/64252711/i-see-what-you-did-there.jpg)
Watching Dalvin Cook tonight, Walker reminds me a lot of him. Great vision in the box in a zone blocking scheme, with sneaky, but not elite, speedGood comparison.
Your QB goes 26/39, 285 yards, 1 TD, no picks and a passer rating of 96Da Bears!
You hold the other QB to 87 yards and a passer rating of 69, and 193 yards of total offense.
But you lose 3 fumbles, commit 8 penalties and miss 2 FGs, and never even threaten to win.
🤮
It's been 35 yrs for the Bears so they're due.Browns/Lions fans can expect to wait another 3 decadesthey can expect to wait an eternity. never gonna happen.
Bucs WR Chris Godwin out til late next year with an ACL...now it comes out RB Leonard Fournette has been placed on IR and is on crutches because of a hamstring injury. His status for the playoffs probably up in doubt. They are saying Fournette should be fine for the playoffs.
Two huge pieces for that offense- gone. At least they still have Mike Evans and a Gronk that's probably 60-70% of what he used to be- which is still freaking amazing. Antonio Brown suppose to come back from his suspension this week.
Tampa was looking much better at going back to back just a week or so ago.
Russell Wilson looks like he got old out of nowherethat Seattle OL will do it to ya. They neglected the OL for years and his contract ate up so much cap space they were never able to get around to fixing it.
may be time for Browns to move on from Baker Mayfield. That 4 INT game vs the Packers was awful. Just decent QB play and that team is elite. The last one was literally pass interence, the announcers agreed,as bad as he played the NFL has no freakin' right to spoon feed their darlings. The DB pulled DPJ shirt slowing him then sliding in front.Every one saw it the fans, the offense, the defense, the hot dog venders, just evidently not the zebras.THE NFL is nothing more than the WWF
may be time for Browns to move on from Baker Mayfield. That 4 INT game vs the Packers was awful. Just decent QB play and that team is elite.2 of those interceptions came from non-called DPI. Not saying Baker had a good game, but get those calls right and the game is different.
Anyone see this, hard to tell if he's looking for attention or just that whackI'll say it again, he went from eccentric fun receiver to legit nuts after he took that helmet to the face from Vonteze (who already should have been out of the league) in that playoff game.

There were others but Burfict made him appear as a crash test dummy.Thru the years I've seen some just as dirty, the old Raiders and Steelers, amongst others.Yet a complete 2 full years afterwards he led the League with 1500 + recieving yds.I remember Brown (before Burfict) kicked one of the Browns in the face saying he was hurling over him.Saw Ward and i think JuJu do some shyt, blind side crap, wonder if they teach it.Burfict should have got at least a year off w/o payWell that's why I qualified with once they actually acknowledged concussions were bad. I'm disqualifying hits from 15 plus years ago
He anticipated that the punter would go low, he didn't, aaaaaand he's hanging in the air. It looks awful, but he obviously didn't set out to do that. He got stuck.Bullshit,he diliberately did it just as Burfict,he had smacked around a girl friend prior.Burfict couldn't plan where a player would be at in time and space - only you are that smart
Anyone see this, hard to tell if he's looking for attention or just that whackcraziest ish I've ever seen. Brown has serious mental health issues. Who just quits mid game, on a team that is still in the hunt for the #1 seed in the NFC and trying to repeat as Super Bowl champs?

Crazy stat they announced last night during the Steelers - Browns game. Ben Roethlisberger has only played in 2 games his entire NFL career where he was already eliminated from the playoffs. It is insane.
I know some don't care for the guy, but that's an insane stat.
It is insane.Brady was in New England 20 seasons. His rookie year was 2000. He didn't play. We all know the story in 2001- Bledsoe goes down- Brady goes in. Rest is history. The only other year in New England he didn't really play was 2008, when he tore his ACL in the first QTR of the 1st game of that season.
Granted, that has multiple things to unpack.
- While the QB is a huge part of whether a team makes playoffs, a QB is not the only thing controlling whether a team makes the playoffs. Team quality also makes a difference.
- Were there any years where the Steelers didn't make the playoffs, but Ben was benched after they were out of contention due to non-injury reasons? If you know you're eliminated in game 16, do you just start your backup to get him experience?
Interestingly, I looked at Brady. A Brady team has only not made the playoffs in 2002 and 2008. In 2008 it was due to a Brady injury; he only played one game. In 2002 he started all 16 games, and the Pats went 9-7. So it's entirely possible that they weren't eliminated at any point during that season (although they won the last game to go from 8-7 to 9-7, so it would be more likely they were eliminated than if they were 9-6 and lost the last one).
So it's possible Brady has never started a game while eliminated from playoff contention. Which is partly an insane and positive stat about Brady, but also partly an insane and positive stat about the Patriots org as a whole, given that they only missed playoffs twice while he was there and one of the two times they played his backup all season.
The Arizona Cardinals crapping away a late game Vs the Seahawks, giving a productive outing from Murray zero help from the defense, who just gave up a long TD run from Seattle's Rashard Penney that put the Seahawks up 38-27 in crunch time. Top that off with the announcers emphasizing how the Cardinals haven't won a HOME game in SEVENTY SEVEN days. Another late season fade for the Cardinals thanks to Kliff Kingsbury. They won't be happy until they are stepping on Opening day's toes
It's weird watching regular season NFL this deep into January. Feels out of place and even stale like the really late minor bowls I never got used to watching, like last Tuesday's Texas Bowl.
The last regular season games can have more opt-outs than the college bowl games, depending on the playoff picture.and no one seems to mind
It's weird watching regular season NFL this deep into January. Feels out of place and even stale like the really late minor bowls I never got used to watching, like last Tuesday's Texas Bowl. It's like watching MLB or NBA games at ANY point during the regular season. Long, boring seasons full of meaningless games.
Watt ties the single season sack record. He should be in sole possession of the record. Strahan's last sack was staged, Farve admitted it himself.perhaps, but it still happened
perhaps, but it still happenedMichael Strahan also went to space, but I'm not calling him an astronaut
Wonder if Saban inquires about the Dolphins job?You know who would be a good coach in Miami? The guy Miami just fired for no reason
Good for the Bengals for ending a 31 season drought without a playoff win, but man that was anticlimactic with Cincinnati defaulting on so many chances to break open the game. They coasted that second half with timid play calling that went away from Jamar Chase and focused on too many short passes.Buddy, I have absolutely zero complaints about winning a danged playoff game for the first time since I was 11.
Good for Cincy, but no way the outmatched Raiders should’ve been able to hang with a chance at a tying TD to close regulation.
Yeah, complaining about HOW you win a playoff game is some privileged stuff that this Lions fan cannot relate toThe BROWNS dabbled in delusion last year, just can't stand prosperity
Hell was Randy Gregory doing?Just inexplicably dumb and Dallas has done that all day. False starts, defensive holds on linemen, hands to the face. Just dumb stuff all day.
The Steelers' front 7 is mostly B1G guys and their back 4 are SEC guys. And their offense shouldn't be NFL guys
Welp. That was a fitting ending for one of the dumbest games I've seen. The hiring of Mike McCarthy as the head coach of the Cowboys was bewildering at the time, and he has done nothing to change that perception.
Dallas with 14 penalties and each one was dumber than the previous one. They absolutely deserved to lose this game.Yup. So many of them pre-snap. Just undisciplined, bad football.
LA Rams taking it to the Cardinals so far, up 21-0 approaching halftime. Game so dull I'm flipping over to the Manning Brothers on ESPN2. Feels like one of those bootleg YouTube livestreams with Eli really needing some sort of talent coach to keep from appearing as facially disengaged and unsettled as he often does. That chain was a gift from Snoop, tho.

Cowboys coaches and players pretending NFL refs have it out for them is adorable.Does that include Super Bowl games? Because that adds a few to Brady's tally...
Also saw a stat that after the win on Sunday, Brady and Rodgers have the same number of playoff wins against NFC teams. One has played in the conference for 14 years, the other for 2
Does that include Super Bowl games? Because that adds a few to Brady's tally...Yeah, that's the point
Cowboys coaches and players pretending NFL refs have it out for them is adorable.Brady has some fun facts. For instance, he has more TD passes after the age of 40 (168) than Troy Aikman had for his entire career (165).

Brady has some fun facts. For instance, he has more TD passes after the age of 40 (168) than Troy Aikman had for his entire career (165).it's a whole different ball-game now. Hard to compare eras. When Aikman came into the league in '89 it was a running league. The rule changes have made it pass happy today and everyone is putting up inflated stats. And not only was it a running league when Aikman came into it, but he was on the worst team- teams earn the #1 pick by sucking. Aikman got beaten to hell his first couple years in the league on a bad team with a bad o-line. It took Jimmy a few years but he restocked the cupboards via drafts and trades and then they took off like a rocket.
Not everyone had an Emmitt to hand it off to.wasn't just Emmitt. That entire team was stocked, locked, and loaded. Michael Irvin was probably the 2nd best WR of that entire era. Really only Jerry Rice was better imo. Maybe Sterling Sharpe would've been better if not for the career ending injury. Maybe Cris Carter was as good. But that's it. The OL was massive and talented and the best in the entire league for a good 5-6 year run. The TE's were pretty solid with Jay Novacek. Not to mention their 90s defenses were the #1 defenses in the league for like 3 years in a row from '92 to '94. In the 90s they were a top 5 defense unit every single year during their Super Bowl runs. And then they went and added Deion Sanders- the greatest CB ever in '95.
It's a team sport. Emmitt might not be in the HOF without Troy and that o-line.this.
One thing is certain-- the trench ponies never get enough accolades.

Aikman is to this day one of the most gifted passers I've ever seen. The guy could really just throw the shit out of the football- they just didn't ask him to throw it that often and in that era it was a running league. The only guy from the 80s and 90s that was putting up stupid #'s was Marino- but he's arguably the most gifted passer the league has ever seen.
It's a team sport. Emmitt might not be in the HOF without Troy and that o-line.They always seem to when people talk about Emmitt.

That was an All-Star super team.
They always seem to when people talk about Emmitt. You don't have to convince me, I'm a huge fan of Emmitt Smith.
They ignore Emmitt was great in HS and college.
They ignore any and all backup RBs in Dallas sucked during the Emmitt years, running behind the same OL.
.
He wasn't as flashy as Barry Sanders, so we have to slight him by complimenting his OL every chance we get.
well, most folks agree that Emmitt's O-line was vastly superior to Barry's O-lineEh, there's a difference between giving credit to Emmitt's o-line, and replying to any and all compliments toward Emmitt with "yes, but..."-- which is a LOT of what goes on when discussing Emmitt's relative success.
most folks that know football also think that Emmitt's O-line was one of the best of all-time in the NFL
Perhaps Emmitt made the O-line look very good and helped earn them the accolades they seem to get?
and, perhaps giving credit to a great O-line isn't a slight to the running back
Thanks, Vikings.damn you
You don't have to convince me, I'm a huge fan of Emmitt Smith.I’d take a look at how they were honored during their playing careers. Allen, Newton, Stepnoski, and Williams not only received multiple Pro Bowl nods but multiple All Pro nods, which are much harder to come by. I don’t think Williams will ever be a HOF because he has too much off the field baggage and his career wasn’t so impressive that you just can’t leave him out.
But I was talking more about individual accolades at the pro level. Emmitt, Michael, and Troy were easy HOF selections. The linemen get talked about a lot, but only LArry Allen has been inducted to the HOF. If that o-line was so otherworldly-good that it's the main reason Emmitt and Troy were successful-- as a lot of folks like to imply-- then I'd expect more of them to be in there...
Thanks, Vikings.yeah, dumbest trade ever. Vikings gave away the farm.
You don't have to convince me, I'm a huge fan of Emmitt Smith.Well having a great O-line certainly doesn't hurt. I agree 100% that Emmitt, Michael, and Troy were no-brainer HOF selections. They are all elite talents and were at the very top of the league at their positions during their era. I mean who was better than Emmitt? Barry Sanders. That's it. Who was better than Michael? Jerry Rice. That's it. They were both literally better than every other player in the league at their position except one.
But I was talking more about individual accolades at the pro level. Emmitt, Michael, and Troy were easy HOF selections. Everyone shits on the Lions' OL, but they had 2 multiple-Pro Bowlers in C Rich Glover and T Lomas Brown.yeah, their OL sucked. And their QB's sucked even worse.
Jolly Rogers 0-4 vs Niners in the P.O.she also just lost a home playoff game. again.
Have to give Jimmy Johnson a ton of credit for cashing in on the picks though. Lots of teams could've bungled that package. No doubt in my mind the Detroit Lions would've. Jimmy nailed the freaking draft like no other coach I've ever seen except for maybe Bill Walsh. That dude nailed draft picks too. Not a coincidence that one guy had the dynasty of the 80s and the other guy had the dynasty of the 90s.No one hates the Squeelers as much as I but Noll made a deal with the Devil on Draft Day aslo
No one hates the Squeelers as much as I but Noll made a deal with the Devil on Draft Day asloLegendary draft master. Got Bradshaw on a coin flip with Halas. Halas then traded the pick to the Fackers.
damn youMike Lynn is my hero.
but, true
thanks for nuttin Herchel
he also just lost a home playoff game. again.well, he's a douche so..
There's one stat you left out - kind of a biggyA lot goes into that one though, right? Not just how well the QB played.
A lot goes into that one though, right? Not just how well the QB played. But over 20 years, and multiple roster constructions, and you have one through line...
Rodgersnuff saidcan beis a douche
Rodgers can be a douche so it’s easy to pile on him when he loses, but he’s actually been a really good postseason QB. It’s easy to look at W-L records and assign labels like clutch or choke. It’s a lazy take. It's not a lazy take,60 he didn't deliver after a couple of drives. The intagibles are huge with him, negatively so,he simply comes across like meh,he's got his coin and acts contemptible if demands/requests aren't catered to.Brady could make his own breaks when in crunch time,Rodgers sporadically.I hope he does leave, doubt if he gets another ring.Wasn’t this the Green Bay Packers’ criticism of Aaron? He’s not really a team guy. He’s an Aaron guy.
Brady has been undeniably great but he’s gotten help too. Brady’s teams on average have given up 20.03 points per game in the playoffs. Rodgers’ teams about 26.8. An extra TD to overcome per game makes a difference in playoff success.
But over 20 years, and multiple roster constructions, and you have one through line...That strike me as a bit of an overstatement.
And FTR, I have said I think Rodgers is the most physically talented QB in NFL history. But a million dollar arm and a 2 cent head only gets you so far. I've never seen a whinier on field/court/ice player than him, and I think that mentality is why we are where we are with him. The Patriots "culture" was Brady. Say what you want about him, but players respect him. All different kinds of players. He has a way of figuring out the Gronks of the world, and the Antonio Browns, and the Randy Mosses.

I agree in the game last night Rodgers wasn’t particularly great but he wasn’t particularly bad either.
Rodgers is taking a beating. I like it.Pretty clear that COVID wasn't the only thing he failed to get immunized from.
What do you mean Brady makes his own breaks? That’s just things people say that have no substance. I agree in the game last night Rodgers wasn’t particularly great but he wasn’t particularly bad either.I respect him more really,so hurl away 🤮 he's a gamer,He does he takes the big bucks and and earns it.What did Rodgers do in the 2nd half? the great ones have what he lacks - moxie, the Packers caved into practically every demand he's made.ELA's right, million dollar talent and a 10 cent head. His ridiculous crap last off season - did you pay attention? Then earlier this seaon giving the team and reporters the impression he was immunized when he wasn't.Not dialed in and a Diva
The biggest difference between Brady and Rodgers is when he has a meh game like that his team seems to bail him out more than Rodgers. And please, if somebody tries to tell me that’s because they like him or respect him more I’ll puke. Brady’s teams don’t play better defense out of some sense of loyalty to him. They play better because they are better, or coached better, or whatever. Green Bay didn’t have special teams breakdowns because Rodgers is moody.
Narratives get created and people just sort of blindly accept them. I like to look deeper into those sometimes.

I’m talking about over the course of his career. But yeah, Rodgers was 20-29 for 225 yards. No TD’s. No picks. Pretty meh game for the most part. Not terrible, but not great. I could probably find half a dozen playoff games Brady has played worse in and won. Hell, both of the Super Bowl wins against the Rams come to mind right off the top of my head
Pretty clear that COVID wasn't the only thing he failed to get immunized from.https://twitter.com/edsbs/status/1485102287936704516?s=20
Garrapolo was 11-19 for 131 yards no TDS and a pick. Did he make his own breaks and show moxie or did his defense and special teams play great? Hint. It’s the latter.Has anyone praised him today?
You keep focusing on just the Niner game last night. No you piped up when it was pointed out he was 0-4 vs niners and 7-9 in the Play oFfs since he last won the hardware in 2010. How many guys have collected more money in the last 12 years? It's all about the benjamins - Just Win Baby
His defense didn't give him the ball back enough times?
But we look at the winning QB and assign a clutch narrative and the losing one assign a choke narrative. It’s lazy. Garrapolo was 11-19 for 131 yards no TDS and a pick. Did he make his own breaks and show moxie or did his defense and special teams play great? Hint. It’s the latter.

How many guys have collected more money in the last 12 years? It's all about the benjamins - Just Win BabyI wasn’t piping up about games against the Niners specifically. I was piping up about the narrative that Rodgers has been a choke artist in the playoffs. He hasn’t. He’s actually been pretty damn good.
His defense didn't give him the ball back enough times?
Has anyone praised him today? It goes to support my earlier point about a team can win or lose outside of how the QB plays.
It's not like this is the first time for him
Statistically, Rodgers has been a better postseason QB than Brady.
Completion percentage
TD/INT ratio
TD pass %
INT %
YPA
QB rating
All Rodgers.
The bolded part is almost certianly incorrect, FYI
Notice the one pass for six yards to Allen Lazard. His only catch from the slot position came on a 3rd-n-short to set up a 1st-n-goal on a 14 play drive that finished with a FG to put Green Bay up 10-3 early in the 4th Q. Lazard was matched with a LB, as he had been for most of the game, because the Niners were instead assigning so much manpower to covering and Adams and guiding him toward the sideline with double coverage.
So why, if an LB was usually matched on Lazard at Slot WR, didn’t Rodgers exploit this match up more? It’s especially questionable given how banged up the Niners secondary was. If Rodgers wasn’t going use the rest of the field, as the Niners must’ve realized, they only needed to keep Rodgers shorter passes to Adam or Jones from resulting in YAC.
So he plays to protect his passer rating and not win? Lol. Some of the things people pull out of their ass amaze me.This.
Oh FFS with this game.this game is playing out like a vintage Tom Brady game. if he ties it up and it goes to OT, Bucs are a lock to win.
this game is playing out like a vintage Tom Brady game. if he ties it up and it goes to OT, Bucs are a lock to win.Well, Kupp made sure OT didn't happen lol.
Well, Kupp made sure OT didn't happen lol.he's been the best WR in the league this year. That was an insane play to win the game. And I'd say Todd Bowles did that moreso than Cooper Kupp. That was horrible defensive play-calling on the last drive. They had no timeouts and 30 seconds. Put everyone back.
So he plays to protect his passer rating and not win? Lol. Some of the things people pull out of their ass amaze me.
this game is playing out like a vintage Tom Brady game. if he ties it up and it goes to OT, Bucs are a lock to win.Ha Stafford only needed 42 seconds to pull off his “Brady”.
So he plays to protect his passer rating and not win? Lol. Some of the things people pull out of their ass amaze me.I wouldn't go that far. But I do think Rodgers goes through long stretches where he just gets too conservative. Sometimes he's a little resistant to just let it rip. Which, I can't say I blame him. He does a great job of not turning it over and hurting his team, but come playoff time you have to take more chances and just cut it loose.
Ha Stafford only needed 42 seconds to pull off his “Brady”.Stafford has always been great in the clutch in Detroit. The guy has ice in his veins. Tampa DC f'ed up royally with his defensive play calls on the final drive and Stafford made them pay. Happy for Stafford that he's going to the NFC Championship. Hopefully he wins that and goes to the Super Bowl and wins that. No one deserves it more after playing for a dogshit franchise like the Lions for over a decade.
TB couldn’t luck into this one- although the Rams sure tried to help them with their constant fumbles.

Well, yeah, it looks like if he waits an extra second he has Lazard. I would guess that if someone wanted to they could isolate a play in literally every football game ever played and say, “Watch the QB miss an open receiver right here.”
A better wording would be that Rodgers’ overly conservative performances resulting playoff losses end up protecting certain passing stats that his supporters trumpet. If you’re Rodgers in another upset playoff loss and getting unexplainably outlasted by Jimmy G at home, it invites absurdist overreactions searching for answers.
Lazard is lined up against an LB on this play:
https://twitter.com/proftblculture/status/1485091897978888196
And here’s Lazard wide open and ignored on 3rd down of Green Bay’s last possession (3rd & 11 w/ 3:40 left):

So he plays to protect his passer rating and not win? Lol. Some of the things people pull out of their ass amaze me.What was Brady down 27-3,what was Diva up?7-0,10-3,Biggest stage, biggest position, biggest performance?
What was Brady down 27-3,what was Diva up?7-0,10-3,Biggest stage, biggest position, biggest performance?Lol. Yeah, I was actually hoping Brady would win. It would have been a perfect example of a QB not playing that well but getting breaks that had nothing to do with him and winning anyway. The Rams lost four fumbles. If I believed what I read on here those were caused by Brady’s moxie and will to win. Oh, and because his teammates respect him so much. When Brady’s will to win caused the Rams center to snap it over Stafford’s head and I came out of my seat and applauded.
I wouldn't go that far. But I do think Rodgers goes through long stretches where he just gets too conservative. Sometimes he's a little resistant to just let it rip. Which, I can't say I blame him. He does a great job of not turning it over and hurting his team, but come playoff time you have to take more chances and just cut it loose. This is exactly wrong.
I guess Brady didn’t have enough moxie to keep the Bucs from blowing their coverage on the last drive though.27pts is usually enough to grab a W,not sure about the other HOF effort
Might be the best week end of NFL Playoffs....EVERok, I'm in
don't like the outcome of OT???Read a little bit closer next time.
you've got 60 minutes to prove you have the better team
tough titty
if you couldn't care less, why bring it upHow much do you drink during these games?😂
the team on the short side of the outcome knew well before hand the unfair rules of overtime
they did toss a coin to award one team the opportunity to have the ball first
if you're not up for the 50/50 shot of a coin toss, play to win in regulation
__________________________
other than that, go to the rules committee in the off-season
there's no crying in baseball
all I did was ask the question: is it the best process in postseason NFL games to allow one team to have a possession and not the other team?Agreed perhaps they should clip the way the OT is done during the season. It goes back/forth like ping pong, both these squads are deserving. After 4 months of pounding the snot out of each other, they deserve better than a coin flip, maybe an 8-9-10 minute Qtr?
I drink plenty during gamesWell I think we do agree fearless.
I don't need a game to drink & post
is the process they are using the best way to Determine a winner?
usually, the powers that be just keep changing the process to try to appease folks that came out on the wrong end of the stick
no, it's probably not the best way, but nothing is perfect
it could be better, not going to argue that
heck, I guess we agree :86:
Well they use to play an extra QTR back in the day.But in recent years during the season the LEAGUE implements this short, abridged version that has turned into a bastardized format of the Arena League. It should not hold court in the POs,IMHOWhen?
When?Yes that's the earliest OT rules I can remember for the NFL, but Mr. N is considerably older than both you and me. Perhaps he's talking about the leather helmet days... ;)
They played 15 minutes, but it was total sudden death, so that KC could have just won it with a FG. At least they had to score a TD now

After all the star power in these playoffs, I will find it hilarious if we get a SF/Cincy Super Bowl.Last time we got it, it sure as hell delivered.

When?Ya,Ya - dat's da TICKET.Forgive me i spent half the weekend huffing/puffing behind a 40 yr old Toro Blower belching exhaust - and trying to keep up with it

After all the star power in these playoffs, I will find it hilarious if we get a SF/Cincy Super Bowl.Long time Bengal fans probably don’t want to see the Niners in SB again. 0-2 against them. Of course, Joe Montana ain’t walking through the door anymore either.
Last time we got it, it sure as hell delivered.(https://i.insider.com/5e32fd8e5bc79c288e381159?width=600&format=jpeg&auto=webp)
A 4-seed vs a 6-seed would be the NFL in a nutshell.Yeah. The NFL would be WAY more fun to watch without a salary cap where 4 teams were allowed to amass SO much talent that no other team could typically remain within 30 points of them on any given Sunday. Then we can just let those 4 duke it out every year.
A couple of 10-7 teams duking it out to claim they're the champs.
Brilliant.

Exciting.
A 4-seed vs a 6-seed would be the NFL in a nutshell.No...the NFL in a nutshell is man the f up, sack up and play ball. Winner takes all. Loser goes home.
A couple of 10-7 teams duking it out to claim they're the champs.

I prefer the Stanley cup playoffs to any other. What sport is that... cricket? Jai alai?
I prefer the Stanley cup playoffs to any other.I hate best of. I love one game elimination. Stakes are so much higher.
Nah. Cat is out of the bag with NIL. Limit to 65 and you'll be amazed at how many 5* "walk-ons" go to 'Bama, OSU, etc.
I think they need to drastically limit scholarships to like 65. This way top teams can't just take all the top talent. Leave some talent for everyone else.
Last time we got it, it sure as hell delivered.Delivered a lot of tears to little 9 year old me
XXIII, that was a Michael Jackson halftime and 3 D glasses. Joe Robbie Stadium was shiny and new.https://youtu.be/C2ZryL4ljZQ
Delivered a lot of tears to little 9 year old meDelivered $5 to 11-year old me.
on the bright side i have no money on itThat TD by Kelce at the end made me $1,200. That said I would have lost that to see the chiefs go down in defeat.
XXIII, that was a Michael Jackson halftime and 3 D glasses. Joe Robbie Stadium was shiny and new.No, that Michael Jackson half-time was show was the first Cowboys-Bills Super Bowl in the '92 season. And it was a hell of a show, probably still the best half-time show ever. That was back before the child molestation accusations, when Michael Jackson was still the biggest star on planet earth. It's hard to put into words just how big that guy f**king was, and we'll probably never see someone that famous or huge again. He really turned the Super Bowl half-time show into the entertainment spectacle it is now. Before him, the half-time shows were high school or college marching bands or complete has-been washed up acts. It was a real joke.
That Sharika show was something. That Shakira show was borderline inappropriate. We had the kids that year and my wife was thinking it might not be the right thing for my going-on-teenage son to see, and CERTAINLY not for my young daughter.
That Shakira show was borderline inappropriate. We had the kids that year and my wife was thinking it might not be the right thing for my going-on-teenage son to see, and CERTAINLY not for my young daughter.I thought the old bud light ads made sure the Super Bowl was not agreeable to parents prone to covering their kids‘ eyes.
I certainly had no complaints about that one though. ;)
I remember the ~2004 "wardrobe malfunction" show. This was before I started brewing or had a kegerator, but I had people over so I had a keg of Miller Lite on the patio. I knew it was pretty much a "you've got a day and a half before this goes bad and anything you don't drink is wasted", so I was, well, close to wasted by halftime. I just remember seeing that and my brain just couldn't comprehend that I had just actually seen what I thought I saw.
I thought the old bud light ads made sure the Super Bowl was not agreeable to parents prone to covering their kids‘ eyes.I'd rather have those Bud Light ads than the ones from Nationwide that, when paraphrased, said "Insure with us or your kids die."
Yeah. The NFL would be WAY more fun to watch without a salary cap where 4 teams were allowed to amass SO much talent that no other team could typically remain within 30 points of them on any given Sunday. Then we can just let those 4 duke it out every year.Uhhh, when has the NFL suffered from its dynasties? The 70s was the Steelers/Raiders winner vs Dallas half the time. The 49ers in the 80s, Dallas in the 90s and then the Pats with Brady.
Exciting.
Uhhh, when has the NFL suffered from its dynasties? The 70s was the Steelers/Raiders winner vs Dallas half the time. The 49ers in the 80s, Dallas in the 90s and then the Pats with Brady. It's all about coaching, management, and maximizing the talent you can acquire.
The NFL and its fans love dynasties or love to hate them. It's historically been a lot like the playoff era of college football.
Gee whiz, I wonder if that's a coincidence?!?
That Sharika show was something.anything with Shakira is something. I can't stand her voice or her music, but I've seen a lot of videos/performances she's done on mute. She is one of the best looking women of all-time if you ask me lol.
Any discussion of Super Bowl halftime shows begin with U2 and end with Prince. Then it's a long way back to anyone else.disagree with you on U2. Definitely agree with you on Prince. Actually forgot about that one. I'd vote that as the best ever. By far.
U2 was amazing. Prince was better. The best, in fact.This.
anything with Shakira is something. I can't stand her voice or her music, but I've seen a lot of videos/performances she's done on mute. She is one of the best looking women of all-time if you ask me lol.I'm surprised to hear you say that... She's only Colombian, not Brazilian!
Uhhh, when has the NFL suffered from its dynasties? The 70s was the Steelers/Raiders winner vs Dallas half the time. The 49ers in the 80s, Dallas in the 90s and then the Pats with Brady. You mean the NFL had dynasties in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s- when there was no free agency or hard salary cap. That was the entire point of introducing a hard salary cap and free agency in 1994. Dallas was the last dynasty of the old NFL and once the cap kicked in and free agency kicked in, Dallas wasn't able to maintain. They won exactly 1 more Super Bowl, in 1995, after the cap and free agency kicked in. And it wasn't exactly like Aikman, Emmitt, and Michael were old in 1996. They were still relatively young, in their prime players. Now Jimmy leaving had a lot to do with the fall off, but it's all the other guys they lost in free agency that they weren't able to just keep because of the cap restrictions and other teams over-paying for key contributing starters on a great team as is the norm now.
The NFL and its fans love dynasties or love to hate them. It's historically been a lot like the playoff era of college football.
Gee whiz, I wonder if that's a coincidence?!?
I'm surprised to hear you say that... She's only Colombian, not Brazilian!I might like Colombians more than Brazilians lol. Venezuelans and Argentinians look great too. South America has maybe the hottest women in the entire world. I believe a worldwide survey/poll actually named Colombian women as the best looking women in the world. Don't quote me on that though. That Sofia Vergara is something else.
It's funny that Sofia Vergara wasnt mainstream until like 10-12 years after she was all over those Maxim-type magazines. Maybe she was learning English or something, but she wasn't widely known until after her peak years.I knew about her back then :)
I do think LA needs a team. I would have been fine with it being the Rams (although I would have preferred the Jaguars).this.
It was everything beyond that which was dumb. Why did you move a 2nd team? Why did you move a team with actual fan following to Vegas?
If they had just moved the Jags to LA and Chargers to Vegas, I'd get that
Well, Las Vegas was already full of Raiders... They're called casinos.Between all the moves the Rams, Raiders, and now Chargers have made, I honestly get confused and don't remember which city any of them are in, anymore. That's no joke.
I don't get the idea of moving the Chargers to LA. San Diego loved them. Now San Diego hates them and Los Angeles views them as the second tier team in this market and doesn't care.
SD just wasn't caving into the extortion, wish nation wide the citizenry would draw a line that has long ago been breechedthis. that city told the owner of the billion dollar plus NFL franchise/asset- pay for your own god damn stadium. You'll get no free land, tax breaks, or money from us.
Any body watching the No Fun League, they're in O.T.F'n yes I am
Tom Brady calling itNo he just suits up in Cinci
Another great game. I'm really enjoying just watching the 4th quarters/OT.Bungles 3-0 against the top two seeds in the AFC
And the Super Bowl, to determine the champion of the league, will be between two 4-seeds or a 4 and a 6. No teams with the top 8 W-L records will be involved. World Champions!!!
entertainment >>>>>>> competition
Bungles 3-0 against the top two seeds in the AFCSo they were a .500 team against worse teams?
Bengals with Burrow at QB as a 3+ dog this season? 6-0 outright.Rams look pretty good
Give me the Bengals. Burrow is a special player and leader.
So they were a .500 team against worse teams?Luckily they don't give trophies based on whether you beat the Browns
Ya I agree on Stafford but unfortunately he's throwing to a butt hurt malcontent OBJ that got his daddy to do his bidding. He better study routes instead of his free lancing or it could be a long day for StaffordHe's seemed to be a solid asset so far in LA. It's it possible the Browns were the problem?
He's seemed to be a solid asset so far in LA. It's it possible the Browns were the problem?well, he's only been with the Rams for 8 games and they are in the Super Bowl. Odell is a front-runner who goes in the tank if things aren't going in his way. For 8 games plus the post-season, things have been going his way. And I'm sure he knows this is his 3rd chance and might be his last if he doesn't walk the straight and narrow and actually produce. There is no question he was a malcontent of the highest order in both New York and Cleveland.

In 7 seasons prior to this, he's only played in 1 playoff game. If he'd stayed on the Browns, he'd be 1 playoff in 8 seasons at this point.
He's seemed to be a solid asset so far in LA. It's it possible the Browns were the problem?Like with everything, the answer is usually both and winning cures all.
He's spent his entire career on crappy teams with mediocre QB play. In 7 seasons prior to this, he's only played in 1 playoff game. If he'd stayed on the Browns, he'd be 1 playoff in 8 seasons at this point. It's nutty that the Browns straight up just cut the dude and now have no receivers. Now all I hear on sports radio is about Baker Mayfield's feelings but supposedly OBJ was the real problem.
He's now played in 3 playoff games and he's going to the Super Bowl.
Perhaps he was a malcontent because his talents were completely wasted on teams with bad management and no shot at a title.
It's nutty that the Browns straight up just cut the dude and now have no receivers. Now all I hear on sports radio is about Baker Mayfield's feelings but supposedly OBJ was the real problem.Browns didn't really have much choice. OBJ saw to it.
His powers are unlike anything we've ever seen.I'm the biggest Joe Burrow lover there is outside of the city of Cincy. But...ever heard of a guy named Tom Brady?
It's nutty that the Browns straight up just cut the dude and now have no receivers. Now all I hear on sports radio is about Baker Mayfield's feelings but supposedly OBJ was the real problem.Baker kinda sucks. That's the real problem. He's never going to be a franchise QB. He's a JAG. Just another guy.
Joe Burrow came to LSU, a QB graveyard, won a NC and had the greatest passing season in college football history. Now the Bengals, who haven't won a playoff game in 31 years and never won one on the road have won three, two on the road against the 1 and 2 seed, and will go to a SuperBowl.ABSOLUTELY,during his days in C-Bus,many off us who actually attended games made the argument to play him in 2016.On the old CFN Board and on Buckeye Boards at that time but there is a loathing Lizard Choad that assures me I was mistaken
He's spent his entire career on crappy teams with mediocre QB play. In 7 seasons prior to this, he's only played in 1 playoff game. If he'd stayed on the Browns, he'd be 1 playoff in 8 seasons at this point.Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, and Matt Stafford played longer on much crappier franchises and teams than the whiny little bitch OBJ did. None of them ever became distractions, never pointed blame at others, were always the consummate teammates and professionals, were always the first to take all the blame when things went wrong and were always the first to give the credit to their teammates when things when right.
He's now played in 3 playoff games and he's going to the Super Bowl.
Perhaps he was a malcontent because his talents were completely wasted on teams with bad management and no shot at a title.
Baker kinda sucks. That's the real problem. He's never going to be a franchise QB. He's a JAG. Just another guy.2020 he had a very good season and the Browns still had a decent passing game as DPJ definately stepped up Landry ,Njoku,Hooper even Higgins.Having a ripped up left shouder coudn't have helped. He'll be pedestrian, the O-Line had many holes to,winning cures everything
He's now played in 3 playoff games and he's going to the Super Bowl.Hindsight is a beautiful thing.Maybe if injuries to the QB and the O-Line don't happen he would have kept his mouth shut and run his routes as assigned. He was popping off behind the scenes and many times running his own routes.Off course he'll behave now at least until he's not getting the throws or buried on the depth charts
Perhaps he was a malcontent because his talents were completely wasted on teams with bad management and no shot at a title.
I'm the biggest Joe Burrow lover there is outside of the city of Cincy. But...ever heard of a guy named Tom Brady?
Also....a Michigan fan is the biggest Burrow fan outside of Cincy?absolutely love his game and everything he stands for. ice in his veins, clutch, tremendous leader. he's the next closest thing we've got to Tom Brady imo and wouldn't take any QB over him in the NFL right now for the next decade plus. Not even Mahomes.
Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, and Matt Stafford played longer on much crappier franchises and teams than the whiny little bitch OBJ did. None of them ever became distractions, never pointed blame at others, were always the consummate teammates and professionals, were always the first to take all the blame when things went wrong and were always the first to give the credit to their teammates when things when right.I'm not defending OBJ as a person.
I don't have a whole lot of respect for OBJ. He's a diva in the mold of Terrell Owens or Randy Moss, but he's never been and never will nowhere near as good as either of those guys. He's not even in the same universe talent or production wise as those guys.
Hmm....some serious OBJ haters here.Joe Thomas.
I don't keep up with him nearly as much since leaving us, but he sure holds a lot of NFL records for a guy who's not good.
On a related subject, pointing to championship rings--for anybody--is about as dumb as anything you can contrive. Take a guy like Tom Brady...obviously a great case to be made for being the best ever. But the margin that separates him and contemporaries like Manning and Brees are not that great, yet they only got 2 and 1 rings respectively. There are so many other factors that it's not worth considering. Andrew Whitworth has been perhaps the best OT in the league for 18 years, and this is the first he's ever sniffed a ring. By this logic, Robert Horry is a greater basketball player than Michael Jordan. More rings, bruh!
He's a diva, sure. Maybe if Barry, Calvin, or Stafford were a little more diva, they'd have more than a combined zero super bowl appearances between them. Stafford is getting his first shot, in his 13th season, because he's not stuck on a dumpster fire team.says a lot about those guys that they never threw in the towel, became a distraction or a malcontent when they didn't get what they want and kept on doing their jobs and not being a problem while they were getting paid millions and millions of dollars to play a game. They aren't saving lives, they aren't making breakthrough discoveries in the sciences. They are playing a game.
I'm not defending OBJ as a person. Also, Sanders and Johnson just straight up quit. OBJ just had his father cut a tape showing he was open because somehow he was getting blamed for the Browns not being good.
But the nature of the NFL is that you often have little control over your future. You get drafted to whatever team picks you, and you're stuck with them 4 years. 5 if they exercise the 5th year contract option. Perhaps he shouldn't have signed a contract extension with the Giants, but he did, and then he got traded to the Browns.

Also, Sanders and Johnson just straight up quit. OBJ just had his father cut a tape showing he was open because somehow he was getting blamed for the Browns not being good.I wouldn't say they just straight up quit. They retired. There's a difference. Can't play the game forever. Barry played 10 years, Calvin 9. Barry's passion for the game was gone, he just couldn't play anymore. Calvin's body was breaking down and he lost his passion on top of that.
But....ever heard of hyperbole, humor, and fandom? To be fair that's what these 😎🤣😜 are for,so i can see taking you at your word there.
Also, Sanders and Johnson just straight up quit. OBJ just had his father cut a tape showing he was open because somehow he was getting blamed for the Browns not being good.He wasn't getting blamed for the Browns problems,he just creates them. It's my understanding from listening to local sporsts talk that he broke off his routes enough to be disruptive.the QB can't rely on timing patterns when some aren't sticking to the script.I really believe he was trying to over compensate for sitting out injured as the team had a better year w/o him.Mdot's right, crazy but right the diva should have to go to a real job for a while
Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, and Matt Stafford played longer on much crappier franchises and teams than the whiny little bitch OBJ did. None of them ever became distractions, never pointed blame at others, were always the consummate teammates and professionals, were always the first to take all the blame when things went wrong and were always the first to give the credit to their teammates when things when right.
Stafford’s immediate success with the Rams is widening the conversation around the Detroit Lions perpetual ineptitude. Detroit as a sort of black hole and wasteful of its best talent is such a known reality at this point that I’m wondering if potentially high draft picks will vocally refuse to be drafted to Detroit from now on.I've been saying that for years lol. If I was a top pick, I'd refuse to play for the Lions. I'd make them trade me or I'd just sit out and wait til the next draft.
We’ve seen guys like Eli Manning reject potentially playing for the Chargers along with John Elway similarly reject the Colts, but those were case by case one-offs. The Lions are so incompetent and squandering for so long I’m wondering if they risk becoming a league-wide franchise non grata to more than a few potential draftees who can leverage plans elsewhere before their drafting.
The GOAT retired today.so weird to not be able to watch him play football next year. he's been a staple and pillar of the NFL for the last 20+ years.
I've been saying that for years lol. If I was a top pick, I'd refuse to play for the Lions. I'd make them trade me or I'd just sit out and wait til the next draft.Oh c'mon you were just railing about the divas.I'd be a dick Owner if I had the coin and draft their ass .let them sit for a year - that rarely works out for them
Oh c'mon you were just railing about the divas.I'd be a dick Owner if I had the coin and draft their ass .let them sit for a year - that rarely works out for themthere is a huge difference to me in signing a $100 mil contract and being a diva vs being a young kid just entering the draft who is being up front that he doesn't want to play for your team. huge difference. don't sign the dotted line, take the $100 million and then be a huge jerkoff when you don't get exactly what you want or things aren't going your way.
Everyone the Browns draft seems to be a bust. The Lions have had talent...and just keep wastingYour right they have been crappy evaluators of talent.I wasn't kidding we could scrape together a pretty good scouting Dept from this forum.I can honestly say when ass wipe Haslem drafted Johhny Football or even Brandon Weedon not one of us were pumping our fists screaming Hell ya.More like Oh No Weeden turned 29 his rookie season. It really makes one question how these people got to where they were.Sad thing is Belichick wasn't much better
there is a huge difference to me in signing a $100 mil contract and being a diva vs being a young kid just entering the draft who is being up front that he doesn't want to play for your team. huge difference.Bull jive same diva - go work for a living, the league has rules to keep balance or at least a chance of it.Fine you don't want to play by the rules - sit out bitch, can't let the tail wag the dog. It's usually the Elways,Mannings - let them sit and no coin might change their minds
Joe Thomas.
To be fair that's what these 😎🤣😜 are for,so i can see taking you at your word there.
Shame he didn't get to play on a winner.
Yeah, but there are those of us who look at things differently. Hopefully the players themselves do too. Joe Thomas is a winner, period, end of discussion. Doesn't matter to me if he ever got a ring. Many players fit that category. You give it your all, become elite at your position, that's all you can ask. Everything else is out of your control. And I'm sure we don't need to pity someone who probably isn't crying into his beer in his solid gold and diamond-encrusted pint glass over it anyway :57:
It's not funny when you have to use emojis.Jebis don't get an MC for a whole yr and half and you go to pieces
What's up with Eli Apple?what's up with Eli Apple? he stinks. I still don't know how he was a top 10 pick just 5 seasons ago. He's already on his 4th team.
ETA: And if you dis NOLA's food, then you've left "douche" and crossed into "dumb" territory.
Now this is some bad textingMight take Ross down with him. Granted that guy seems to be Teflon with how many allegations have failed to stick over the years

(https://i.imgur.com/IiwcVby.jpg)this is terrific. wow lmao.
Man I need to make a trip to NOLA soon, it's now been 4 or 5 years and we normally get there at least once per year. So much great good.amen. one of my all-time favorite cities. love it to death. haven't been since 2015 and I used to go almost every year as well.
Might take Ross down with him. Granted that guy seems to be Teflon with how many allegations have failed to stick over the yearsas far as any implication of trying to tank because Stephen Ross may have invested in part of a $17.5 million round of funding - seems incredibly stupid for this guy to even bring this up. It's a complete non-starter. Stephen Ross is worth probably close to $10 billion. Maybe even more. Hard to quantify his wealth- as it's mostly privately held. Put it this way- he's so rich- he's donated $500 million to the University of Michigan. You have to have a FUCKTON of money to donate $500 million to anyone. You have to be obscenely wealthy. A relatively small investment in a gambling company for someone of his stature is virtually meaningless - like it doesn't even track. Makes no sense to me that it's even brought up. The money he's invested in the Dolphins and the money he makes from the Dolphins winning is infinitely greater than the little check (by his standards) he wrote to participate in a round of funding for a gambling startup.

I don't think OBJ's time with the Giants was contentious, whatever his preferences. He routinely seemed to be fine there when interviewed. Who knows what's going on in his head, but OBJ was always a loud personality. Nobody ever wondered what was on his mind when he was in college. He wasn't a problem, but he wasn't a quiet guy who blended in either.Have to take what he says a bit tongue in cheek
What's up with Eli Apple? Dude roasted the Giants and Saints, then insulted the fans, and then went a step further to trash the city of New Orleans and then say the food is horrible. Now he's trolled the Chiefs players, offering them tickets to the SB. All I really know about him was watching him with the Saints and the playoff games with the Bengals. Nobody should be a douche, but when you're not even good enough to earn some passes, you really should try harder to do the bare minimum. And by "bare minimum" I mean....you know....not insulting and picking fights with fans and insulting their cities.
Guys who quarrel with their peers within the league or management may have some growing up to do. When you can't stop yourself from blasting the fans who make your career possible, you have major character flaws.
ETA: And if you dis NOLA's food, then you've left "douche" and crossed into "dumb" territory.
You mean convincing UM to take money in exchange for helping him in a tax evasion scheme?not really evasion....more like off-setting or lowering his tax burden. legally. not that i'm thrilled with it. but he did donate $500 million to a public university of higher learning. tax evasion schemes to me are more like what Bezos and Musk do - getting 0% interest loans and borrowing against paper assets (stock) for an eternity to fund their lifestyles which means they never have to declare income or pay tax - unless they sell stock - or setting up shell companies overseas and hiding/laundering money in real estate to avoid paying taxes- the kind of shit we saw in the Pandora Papers.

I also don't blame Flores - getting canned after willing a terrible team to a winning record is awful enough, and then to get kicked in the teeth that they already picked their coach before your interview is doubly insulting.
If Flores is alleging that Ross wanted him to tank to get the #1 pick - I'm sure he's not the first owner nor will he be the last. If Miami had tanked and got Joe Burrow instead of Tua - Miami might be in the Super Bowl right now and not the Bengals. He's going to have to prove this allegation in court - that Ross offered him $100k to lose games to get the #1 pick - so good luck. Unless he's got emails or texts showing this - it's impossible to prove.
Flores is coming across like a major league asshole, jilted ex throwing a bunch of shit to the wall seeing if anything sticks - and the billionaire boys club ain't going to forget any time soon. This guy is killing any chance he's ever had at getting another NFL head coaching job again. I can see why the Dolphins fired him.

Rooney rule strikes me as a dumb rule. It’s entire purpose was to pander, buy good PR.I just enjoy that it's Belichick who might cause the NFL to lose millions
NFL billionaire owners are gonna hire who they damn well please. They didn’t become billionaires by following rules, taking orders, or being told what to do. These are literally all trust fund douches who inherited money or type a personality captain of industry types who are egotistical maniacs.
Flores suing the NFL just going to enhance the rep he has as difficult to work with. He’s still have a job in Miami if he wasn’t at war with the GM and had he bought into Tua as the QB of the future even a little bit. Dude never wanted Tua and he never kept that a secret within the organization.
I just enjoy that it's Belichick who might cause the NFL to lose millionsBelichik has more than a few bones to pick with the NFL and Goodell. Wouldn't surprise me if he sent those texts on purpose.
You mean convincing UM to take money in exchange for helping him in a tax evasion scheme?Fill me in got a link
Belichik has more than a few bones to pick with the NFL and Goodell. Wouldn't surprise me if he sent those texts on purpose. Not to mention the Giants
So, it's the Washington Commanders now.I think Commies is the preferred name
Good name.
Where we dine in NOLA was mediocre at best. We were with a lady who claimed she knew the place and where to eat. I think they were all tourist spots. I didn't enjoy the visit at all and don't plan to return ever. I'm sure I could have had a better experience on my on, but I did not enjoy the place. My wife had the same thoughts. She had been before years back before I knew her. It was my first and only visit.Only been to NOLA once, Was taking a cruise out of the port. Didn't know it at the time I booked, but it was right in the middle of Mardi Gras.
Every city has good places to eat and plenty of mediocre places (and chains). It's something of a mystery how to find the former, unless you're in France.

He's got a rep as being difficult to work with, and now the dude is suing the NFL, the Giants, the Broncos, and the Dolphins. Apparently he's never heard of not biting the hand that feeds you. He better get a fat settlement or win that lawsuit - because no one in the NFL will probably ever hire him again.
Only been to NOLA once, Was taking a cruise out of the port. Didn't know it at the time I booked, but it was right in the middle of Mardi Gras.
It took forever to get from the airport to our hotel. It took 2 hours to get from hotel to a place close to Bourbon St (less than 3 miles). Ate at a restaurant near Bourbon street, the food was fantastic. Walked over to the street, in one block, I saw a man sliced with a knife, I saw a fist fight and my daughter-in-law was groped by a man. Got off the street after one block and went back to the hotel.
At the hotel, at 3am I have someone pounding on my door and yelling Jeremy open the door. It so happened that my step-son is named Jeremy and was in the room across the hall. Go to the door there are 3 police officers with guns drawn. Turns out they had the wrong room. Starting pounding on the room next door. They pounded and yelled at the door for about an hour before the guy in there finally answered came out. All this because the person in the room locked his friends out and kept their stuff in the room. Why the police has to be involved and why it was necessary to do this at 3am I will never know. Hotel ended up comping our room.
Then it took us 2 hours to go the 5 miles to get to the port.
They only thing I like about NOLA was the restaurant, It was the best Jambalaya that I have ever had. Nothing has been close to it. Can honestly say, I don't think I will ever go to NOLA again.
Dude, no offense, but every single person you associate with in other cities, just absolutely sucks. It's uncanny. You get the worst hosts and worst advice of all time, every time.
If he couldn't find something delicious to eat in NOLA, he's just not trying. He had the exact same story for his visit to Austin. I genuinely feel sorry for him, he either has the worst luck, or just knows the worst people.
I have no sympathy.
I guess taste has something to do with it, although it's incredible how many people worldwide love Louisiana food, NOLA in particular.Sounds like you, too, were going to the wrong places.
I had about a six-month adjustment period when I moved to Austin. It wasn't that the food was bad, but it was different, and I didn't care for it. After a while I got used to it, my palate adjusted, and there were so many great places. I still miss them. They key was not the food being sub-par, it was my taste buds lacking an appreciation for what I was eating.
If he couldn't find something delicious to eat in NOLA, he's just not trying.this. that place has so many amazing places to eat you have to try to eat somewhere that sucks lol.
I have no sympathy.
He had the exact same story for his visit to Austin. I genuinely feel sorry for him, he either has the worst luck, or just knows the worst people.I've never even been to Austin and even I know Franklin's is the place to go. Is it as good as they say? Heard wait times can be hours long.
I've never even been to Austin and even I know Franklin's is the place to go. Is it as good as they say? Heard wait times can be hours long.Franklin is great. It's the best commercial brisket I've ever had. You can also skip the line by preordering, and picking up from the to-go window, but then of course you need a plan for a nearby place to eat it, because it's always best fresh-sliced.
Harbaugh will fail in the NFL imo. It's moved EVEN MORE towards a passing league in the nearly 10 years since he's been there - and he just has NO f***king clue how to do that.
Dude just has no f***king clue when it comes to the pass game - and that's not going to fly in todays NFL.
I went to Boston for a 2-day event. I had no idea it was St. Patrick's Day. It was impossible to get anywhere, everyone was drunk and mean and fighting, and it was a miserable experience.None taken, that is exactly what it is. Cities get only one chance with me :)
Boston is terrible and I'll never go back again.
(is what your post sounds like to me. No offense :) )
Someone explain why the match-fixing angle isn't dominating this. Jerry Richardson was forced to sell the Panthers for a lot less than what Flores is claiming.I don't think he was forced to sell, I think he sold because he was old as dirt, probably wanted to make all the drama go away. And he cashed out to the tune of $2.3 billion - which is a far cry from what he paid to get an expansion team - I think the cost to get the team back in the 90s was like $150 million. Even accounting for inflation that's a staggering gain in a very short timespan. Hard to feel bad for the guy. I believe that he was accused of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and making racist comments to a scout - which to me - probably worse than saying pssssst coach tank so we can get the #1 pick. Colts openly "Suck for Luck" if you ask me. No one will convince me they weren't tanking games to get Luck.
Officially Super Bowl weekmaybe - maybe not - after the hitting starts it falls back to who can do what in real time.IMO Cinci went thru the tougher play off opponents.I don't think LA presents the same HFA as say KC specially in a mixture like the the SB. And as good as Stafford is I'd still say Mahomes presents more problems to a defense.Hopefully this contest falls in line with the excitement displayed in the rest of this post season
I'm predicting one of those impossibly boring, closer-that-the-score-shows 27-16 games. Rams hold the critical mass of advantages over the Bengals. With much of LA’s roster and coaching staff having played for the Rams in a Super Bowl three seasons ago, they’re less likely to blink under the stage lights. Much less in their home stadium. The Bengals are likely “taking it all in” and content to be in the Super Bowl at all. And on the field it’s pretty clear the Rams have the better roster, position by position.

Damn, dunking on the Lions. Way to avoid the low hanging fruit. Tht must have been created by an SNL writerI saw it a couple days ago and it referenced the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Internet memes, are they ever NOT hilarious? :)
Gotta love SD giving the finger to the NFL sure be nice if the mayors in cities would wake up and see how they are getting played. The millions spent on disgusting slimy ass hole owners could actually go into the infrastructure and our country would be a hell of a lot better off"We" prefer shiny new stadia to infrastructure. I was astonished that the Braves got a new one, really, the "old" one was actually quite nice, and centrally located.
Where is SDSU going to play?
This being the first year in, ahem, quite some time where I am invested in the actual game, I thought I would enjoy the pregame coverage. Not so much.It is not watchable.
Wow. OPI wasn't called when it involved the receiver making a blatant facemask...Ramsey got away with blatant pass interference earlier...
I got out of the halftime show by opting for a second shower that I didn't even need.It was a good show for people who came of age in the late 90s lol...
Refs have been consistent. Letting them play.I mean, you grab a guy by the facemask and throw him down, even the most old school of us. If a DB did that, he would have been tossed
It was a good show for people who came of age in the late 90s lol...I think it was perhaps the best halftime show ever
I think it was perhaps the best halftime show everI liked most of it. Blyge, Snoop. But Lemar and Eminem sucked.
The refs with two phantom calls on the Bengals hereHave to agree. They let a lot of major stuff go by both sides all night. Then they call that? Weird.
Alright, now Lions management knows what they need to surround a QB with. Let's go!😂😂.
I liked most of it. Blyge, Snoop. But Lemar and Eminem sucked.I know nothing about Kendrick, but he can sure spit it...
I know nothing about Kendrick, but he can sure spit it...All of this
Eminem was so-so. Thought Mary could have stuck to her first song.
I did like how it was all kinda a tribute to Dre. He was responsible for so much of that genre.
I think it was perhaps the best halftime show everEh. It was a sheepish nod to a wonderful era. I do know it was viewed as a total dud by the 10-16yr old contingency at the party i was at.
I think it was perhaps the best halftime show everFor me, Prince was the best halftime show ever, by a pretty hefty margin.
For me, Prince was the best halftime show ever, by a pretty hefty margin.I know a lot of people feel that way. Prince might be the best example of an artist I completely appreciate, without actually liking.
This one was fine, I was into NWA when it first came out so it was good to see Dr. Dre. The others were all a little newer and got big after I'd mostly left rap and hip hop behind.
The individual sets were pretty good, but I wanted a lot more out of the team-up at the end. I felt like it all sort of built up and then there was no payoff.
Eh. It was a sheepish nod to a wonderful era. I do know it was viewed as a total dud by the 10-16yr old contingency at the party i was at.Yeah, the 10-16 demo wouldn't appreciate it. That is the only reason Kendrick Lamar was there... Because all the others are "old people rap" at this point...
Refs have been consistent. Letting them play.
Yeah, the end of that last drive weren't bad or wrong calls... Just seemed they started calling things tighter than they had the rest of the game.I feel like at least one of those was a make-up call for the blatant uncalled OPI-facemask that resulted in a Cincy touchdown. I don't agree with the idea of make-up calls, but the refs are only human and all it took was one brief glance at the replay screens to understand that was a bad and potentially game-deciding missed call.
One person on FB has announced he won't recognize the outcome, which amused me.
The Rams really couldn't run the ball at all could they? Not the usual recipe for a win.Bengals D stuffed the run. It was impressive to see.
Burrow is a fabulous QB, he had the best college year I've ever seen and I'm glad he's working out at the next level.
Yup, he might be as exceptional in the NFL as he was in college, which would be incredible, worth seeing.I pretty much just watch the nfl playoffs and during the season if there’s a big time matchup like Brady vs Peyton or Brady vs Rodgers - definitely watch that. I gave up watching the Lions regularly so I just pretty much watched most Brady games during the regular season and then of course the playoffs. NFL still has by far the best post-season of any sport imo. Stakes are so high, winner takes all, loser goes home- makes for some crazy dramatic moments.
And I don't watch the NFL, I'd probably start, some.
Yeah, the end of that last drive weren't bad or wrong calls... Just seemed they started calling things tighter than they had the rest of the game.Disagree with that. Two of the calls were bad and wrong, which is doubly annoying after they let stuff go for most of the game. And the one they got right they literally didn't call on Ramsey earlier in the game, which kept the Bengals out of the end zone.
Like anything else with a relatively long and often meaningless regular season, I watch the NFL when it gets to the playoffs.16, well now 17 games isn't that long compared to the other sports.
Disagree with that. Two of the calls were bad and wrong, which is doubly annoying after they let stuff go for most of the game. And the one they got right they literally didn't call on Ramsey earlier in the game, which kept the Bengals out of the end zone.well one of the TD's that Bengals got was a seriously flagrant OPI that the refs missed. Hard to blame the refs when the Bengals OL got utterly destroyed in the 2nd half. Burrow is literally going to die if that shit-sandwich of an OL isn't fixed ASAP. Dude got sacked 71 times this year including playoffs.
The defensive holding that started the penalty parade was absolutely correct. Two hand shove by a defender not playing the ball.shoot that's a great point. NFC has Russell Wilson- he's better than Dak. Basically just Rodgers, Stafford, and Wilson. Rodgers might retire and Wilson is stuck on a pretty bad team.
Also, just about all of the best QBs are in the AFC. Mahomes, Herbert, Allen, Burrow, Mac Jones with an excellent situation for a rookie, Lamar Jackson.
The QB situation in the NFC is dreadful. Rodgers, Stafford if he doesn't retire, maybe Dak, and 11 rotten tomato cans.

Everyone went on and on about the missed facemask, which the refs didn't call because they didn't see it. But when they call two things that didn't happen, suddenly it's a tough job. Whatever, as a Bengals fan I've seen them lose in every way imaginable. It would have been nice to not have the game gifted away.

Rodgers might retire and Wilson is stuck on a pretty bad team.Russell Wilson has played himself into one of the 11 tomato cans. When the Packers trade Rodgers, he needs to demand a trade to the Niners. That might get them over the hump.

It would have been nice to not have the game gifted away.hear what you're saying, but I'm typically against blaming the refs. OL has been a major issue for the Bengals for last two years with Burrow. He practically got killed last year because of the shitty OL, which is why he missed a chunk of the season with the ACL. They didn't fix the OL the past off-season, and it reared it's ugly head in the most important game of the year. That OL got killed 2nd half and Burrow took an ass-whooping.
16, well now 17 games isn't that long compared to the other sports.17 games = 4+ months on the calendar which is plenty long enough to lose interest, when so many of them are meaningless.
MLB, NHL, and NBA are nuts. 162 games in MLB and 82 in NBA and NHL. WTF? And then the playoffs are best of 7 series. Gtfo with that bullshit.
17 games = 4+ months on the calendar which is plenty long enough to lose interest, when so many of them are meaningless.hear what you're saying and I mostly agree. I'll watch maybe 8-9-10 games of an NFL team. Or at least I used to.
So like other sports with largely meaningless regular seasons, I don't really tune in until the playoffs.
Disagree with that. Two of the calls were bad and wrong, which is doubly annoying after they let stuff go for most of the game. And the one they got right they literally didn't call on Ramsey earlier in the game, which kept the Bengals out of the end zone.
Congrats to St. Louis, I mean the team stolen from St. Louis. Why are you congratulating the Cardinals?
Congrats to St. Louis, I mean the team stolen from St. Louis.
yeah, but they sucked ass in LA for most of the 80s and 90s. At least in St. Louis they became a mini-dynasty and the most exciting offense to watch maybe ever with Marshall Faulk, Issac Bruce, Torry Holt, and Az-Hakim. Talk about serious speed and explosiveness at the skill positions.
You mean the team that St. Louis first stole away from Los Angeles?
I feel like at least one of those was a make-up call for the blatant uncalled OPI-facemask that resulted in a Cincy touchdown. I don't agree with the idea of make-up calls, but the refs are only human and all it took was one brief glance at the replay screens to understand that was a bad and potentially game-deciding missed call.maybe I am naïve but in all my years of officiating, I have never made a make-up call nor have have I known as single other official who have done it.
maybe I am naïve but in all my years of officiating, I have never made a make-up call nor have have I known as single other official who have done it.I see what look like make-up calls fairly frequently, several times per season at various levels.
You make a bad call and you move on and do your best not to have it happen again.
The Cardinals were stolen from Chicago (actually, Halas ran them out of town) when they played in Comiskey Park.Yeah it's not really "stealing" if they leave willingly because nobody gives a crap about them and they're not making any money. They were failing at trying to compete with the Bears, and so moved to a place they thought they could become profitable.
They were in St. Louis, and now Arizona.
What was the back story behind the Oilers moving to Tennessee?Houston didn't agree to build owner Bud Adams a new stadium on their own dime.
Houston didn't agree to build owner Bud Adams a new stadium on their own dime.isn't that the backstory on every franchise moving? One city tells the rich owner- pay for your own shiny new stadium you rich prick, you're rich as f**k. Rich owner cries and moans- then finds another city that is stupid and desperate enough for an NFL franchise, and that new city says...psssst rich guy owner - we'll give you all sorts of tax breaks and build your shiny new stadium for you if you move here.

David Carr has been sacked the most by a quarterback in a season, with 76 sacks in his rookie season in 2002.I'm talking strictly post-season. I think Carr has most in a single season- but Texans were so bad they never made the post-season. That's a hell of a beating though- 76 sacks in 16 games. Holy shit.
I was not a fan of the halftime showOh, the way Glenn Miller played... Songs that made the Hit Parade...
To me Hip Hop is what you do trying to get to the bathroom
I was not a fan of the halftime showWow.
Oh, the way Glenn Miller played... Songs that made the Hit Parade...get off my lawn you little shit
...Those were the days!
So like other sports with largely meaningless regular seasons, I don't really tune in until the playoffs.Let's expand the CFP!!!! Let's eliminate big regular-season games altogether!
I was not a fan of the halftime showI will not argue against this. I have to respect someone who all-but-announces to the world that he has some nice hard caramels for when his grandkids come over and he doesn't care who knows.
To me Hip Hop is what you do trying to get to the bathroom
Yeah Longhorn. How dare you have your own taste in music, you horrible person.Out or respect, I will censor my extremely, extremely lame jokes.
You deserve to have these thought police all over you ! Your not conforming!!!
Assholes.
Out or respect, I will censor my extremely, extremely lame jokes.Wasn’t referring to your joke- I laughed at that.

Wow.did you like it?
I'm stunned.
actually I have a very wide range of music I likeWell you certainly shouldn’t need to defend the music that you do or don’t like. That’s a very personal thing and we all don’t like the same things. It’s just sad that there are those here who will grab onto that to try to make you feel inferior.
just dont like hip hop cause I really dont think it takes much talent to do it
you dont have to be able to sing cause you just speak the words
if youre quick at putting sentences together that rhyme and you have a radical subject youre there
I dont condemn those that do its just not my cup of tea

actually I have a very wide range of music I likeI guess songwriters grow on trees.
just dont like hip hop cause I really dont think it takes much talent to do it
I guess songwriters grow on trees.yeah that was just a stupid take.
In defending against something you weren't being criticized about, you made a dummy.
hes ok but Id much rath listen to thisso would I but I prefer Robert's version
I'm fine with Apple stumble-bumbling their way into a mere $340M/day of profit, no need for them to be any stronger than they already are.Ha. True. It's pretty obvious to me though that Apple is not really innovating however. Seems to be just continuations and slight improvements of already wildly popular products. Their money makers are obviously the iPhone and iPads - which have insane margins and are insanely popular. Their biggest hit since Jobs died has been wireless headphones. What innovation! The watch was a huge flop at first, but has come around in the last few years to become a huge success for them.
Dr. Dre is cool. I'd have enjoyed a halftime show of nothing but him, better than the one that actually occurred.
Better yet, have Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and Eazy-E all get out there at the same time. Seems like a grouping of those guys might be pretty good...
My step son works for Apple. He thinks they are still innovating, but he won't talk about what his group is doing. He showed me a photo of him and Wozniak over Christmas.Great stock to own, they freaking print money. I'm not sure they are really innovating anymore. If they are- not really seeing it- and I am one of the idiots who always buys a lot of their overpriced products.
They are my largest individual stock holding by a good measure. I had been selling some to keep some semblance of balance and finally figured I'd just keep it all as it kept going up, I should have not sold, but I was trying to diversify.
Microsoft is doing remarkably well these days, it's a bit of a surprise to me.

Microsoft is killing it in large part because of their Azure cloud infrastructure service, which is the 2nd largest in the world behind Amazon's AWS. Microsoft is also killing it with that Surface- probably the best product they've ever made.
I think Microsoft is going to make huge strides in gaming with their Game Pass thing. They are buying up all these game studios in order to build a moat around a "Netflix of gaming" that Sony is way behind on them- maybe years- and Nintendo isn't really interested in. That game pass is like $15 a month and with it you can download or flat out stream all kinds of old and new games for PC/Xbox that cost $60-$70 individually. Has a potential to be a real game changer for them- and they just bought Activision for $70 billion - maker of wildly popular Call of Duty games.
so would I but I prefer Robert's versionZEPPELIN,M-A-A-A-N
