Now seeing Mac Jones might go #3?

Based on composite rankings, in the 2017 class, Tu'a was the #3 QB, and Mac Jones was #29.

I can concede Alabama just brings in more talent than everyone, but now their backup plan QB is a top 3 pick?  That's unfair.  I think they actually wound up with the top 2 QBs in that class.

  • Davis Mills, Stanford
  • Hunter Johnson, Clemson
  • Tu'a Tagovailoa, Alabama
  • Jake Fromm, Georgia
  • Tate Martell, Ohio State
  • Jack Sears, USC
  • Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
  • Sam Ehlinger, Texas
  • Dylan McCaffrey, Michigan
  • Myles Brennan, LSU
  • Chris Robison, Oklahoma
  • Keytaon Thompson, Mississippi State
  • Sean Clifford, Penn State
  • Shawn Robinson, TCU
  • N'Kosi Perry, Miami
  • Tristan Gebbia, Nebraska
  • Kasim Hill, Maryland
  • Avery Davis, Notre Dame
  • Lowell Narcisse, LSU
  • Bailey Hockman, Florida State
  • Braxton Burmeister, Oregon
  • Chase Garbers, California
  • Tommy DeVito, Syracuse
  • Hendon Hooker, Virginia Tech
  • Ryan Kelley, Arizona State
  • Danny Clark, Kentucky
  • James Blackman, Florida State
  • Chase Brice, Clemson
  • Mac Jones, Alabama
Tua's future in the NFL seems shaky. Doesn't seem like Fins have a ton of faith in him. Mac Jones is even less physically talented than Tua if you ask me.

Bama QB's might just be a product of the talent/system. Tua and Mac Jones both virtually played on All-Star teams. Bama's WR's/OL's/RB's stocked with 1st round picks up the ass the entire time both guys played at Bama.

Boy, everyone seems to want Kyle Pitts.

He's the best TE prospect to come along in ages. If he lands with Dallas- that would be quite the show with Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, and Zeke already there.

Hockenson and Ebron were terrible picks. Ebron scored 7 TD's in his entire 3 year college career. Pitts scored 18 in his 3 years. He was way more productive in the red-zone and on long chunk plays than Ebron could've ever dreamed of being. Ebron was just drafted high because of his freakish combine- and the Lions are a dumb franchise. I at least can see the reach based off the combine- it happens to teams every year. I still to this day don't get the Hockenson pick however.

If the Lions picked Pitts, I wouldn't be too upset about it. I think he'll actually be an elite All-Pro, top tier TE on Sundays. Never thought that about Hockenson or Ebron. Why? Because they never really showed that in college.

I'm not NFL honk at all, but was distracted by some utterance of Edelman being HOF material.   Wut?   He's got a case like a poor man's Robert Horry, or Madison Bumgarner. Count DA Ringz!

Edelman's HoF argument is he won 3sbs and was clutch in SB.   His career marks are completely pedestrian.   Zero pro bowls.   Non current HOFer Roger Craig would like a word with that argument. His 3 rings, 7 sb TDs, not to mention 500+ catches and 8,000 yds rushing have counted for jack. I'm sure there are others too (Ward, Holt, Wayne, etc)

Bob Horry won a pile of rings. Big whoop.  Madison was lights out in his several WS starts but appears headed for a 'nice' career, but not remotely close to HOF.

This is very interesting to me. He's incredibly talented, but he's never remotely come close to living up to the hype or #1 overall status. Garrett has lived up to all the hype and then some- so if Clowney has ANYTHING left in the tank he should be able to thrive on getting pressure off of 1on1 looks. They don't need him to be a sack meister. They just need maybe 7+ sacks and lots of pressures for it to be a good signing. Browns are at least trying to get better. Depending on how they do in the draft and Baker's continued to development- they could make some real noise in 2021. But- they are the Browns- so every time you expect them to take the next jump- means they'll go backwards and probably finish 4-12 this year.

Agree 100%. Eldeman belongs nowhere near the HOF discussion. Very solid, dependable, clutch WR. Billion miles away from a HOF WR. HOF WR? That's Randy Moss, that's TO, that's Megatron, that's Jerry Rice, that's Ike Bruce, that's Cris Carter.
