Who paid how much and to whom? When? Then do the same research for Big Ten teams.
The butthurt is strong with this one.
No butt hurt, you simply suffer from anal-cerebral inversion. They went down south as the conference games concluded by the end of November they'd break for a week and go back for final exams of fall semester. Then leave for the Holidays. When were they going to schedule games involving Student-Athletes - unlike today?
Originally bowl committees and host cities paid massive cash guarantees directly to the schools to convince them to make the long trip across the country. The early bowl game system was actually invented as a tourist trap and real estate marketing scheme.
Cities like Pasadena (Rose Bowl), Miami (Orange Bowl), and New Orleans (Sugar Bowl) realized that winter weather was their greatest asset. They used cash to lure Midwestern and East Coast universities down to play a game, knowing that thousands of wealthy fans would buy train tickets, rent hotel rooms, and buy local real estate.
So that's who paid whom and why,how much? - look it up yourself fauntleroy
