Yeah this has the same value to me as Miami of Ohio getting clubbed in the NCAA tourney. We will always have Dayton. Now give me England v. Norway.
During that pee-down-our-leg showing last night, I was watching reels on my phone featuring Haaland.  What a bad MF.  And a good dude at the same time.

Yeah he's great, so much fun to watch.  He's always good but when he turns beast-mode it's a whole different level.

From here on out it's almost nothing but bangers.  England-Norway is going to be fantastic.  Spain-Belgium is also can't miss.  Not sure about Morocco against France but heck, they made it this far.

Absolutely ridiculous use of VAR to overturn an Egyptian goal

Egypt would not be denied a second time.

An Argentine loss in this round would be pretty shocking.

Almost as shocking as their 3 straight goals

Yeah what a rapid turnaround.  They've been my pick to win the whole thing, and there are some reasons why.

Seems unlikely the World Cup's popularity is rooted in U.S. success
Hmm, was I referring to the whole world or us college football fans?  :sign0144:

Yeah, I've followed soccer for decades.  The USMNT has rarely been any good during that time.  The exit of the USMNT was completely expected either during this round or the next.  There's nothing surprising here and soccer fans will continue to be soccer fans.
I doubt that America will ever be great at soccer, three major reasons.

 a) majority of the best athletes in the US play American football and basketball- because that's where the money is in American sports.

b) US has nowhere near the youth academy/farm systems that Europe has to develop young talent.

c) cost of entry way too high for most kids- it's just way too expensive for most families- can wind up costing tens of thousands of dollars a year for one kid to play in youth/travel leagues and go to camps.

Yeah, I heard that too.
I get there's travel expenses and whatever, but if the cost of entry is too high for a sport that requires only a ball and a goal, imagine the others.
