Kinda busy out there.

Austin has humidity but nothing like coastal areas.

I once shared a plane ride with a woman from CA on her way to Austin who was lightly complaining about Austin's weather, because she just couldn't take the humidity.  I was thinking "Lady, you have no idea."  

My poor yard.

109 yesterday and tomorrow.  Sun hasn't hardly even been out and it's 100 today.

Went out on the lake Saturday, came in to cook steaks at 1:30 on the Weber kettle.  Pops and daughter both had to seek the AC in the vehicle.  I appreciated the fantastic ribeyes he brought for me to cook, but a cold sammich would have been a more appropriate choice.

Little hot today, but we're getting there...

my yard is dry and hot, not green or growing

gotta be tough on the corn & beans

supposed to get some rain the end of the week and some cooler temps

send that stuff southeast from Western Kansas to Arkansas & Texas

The farmer I worked for all through high school once was talking about having visited Iowa.  He was a bit jealous of their lifestyle, and the rain.

We worked our asses off moving 30 ft joints of irrigation pipe around his 2000 acres, keeping the irrigation motors running and changing the flood gates every 12 hours to crawl across the corn 4 times a season.  Them guys up in Iowa, plant their corn, and then their only chores were mowing ditches and trying to drain the water OFF the corn so it didn't drown.  

This "El Nino" that was supposed to make for a wet summer hasn't been what it was projected to be.  Maybe it'll continue to blow the tops off the potential hurricanes, at least.
