We had quite the weather today in south Phx.  Blaring weather alerts over and over on everyone's phone, with eminent flash-flood warnings, saying it's dangerous and "life-threatening" to be out driving.

Probably got more inches of rain in 3 hours than in the previous year combined.  Monsoon.  Deluge.

I could have done without the 19 Amber alert-style warnings on everyone's phones going off.

Flash floods in a desert are no joke. Glad to hear you're ok.

Yeah, but where they happen is known.  Infrastructure negates much of those locations.  Any roads crossing a wash have permanent signs warning about it.

But thanks.

Apparently it was the most rain in one day in Phoenix in 7 years.

It'd very expensive to design infrastructure for rare events.

Downtown PG a year ago.

That was Helene.

Then Milton came and the water was twice as deep. Maybe more.

Humberto - Bermuda gonna get it.

Nine looks like it will form and then peter out before landfill. Looks like a big rainmaker for the Carolinas.

Humberto is now a Cat 5. Nine should form today and it looks like the path is going to keep it away from making any major impacts to the USA. This makes me happy today.

"Does it appear either of these will hit the US mainland hard?"

"Nein" (the Euro model).
