My Dad is a collector and wearer of random non P5 t-shirts and sweatshirts.  I think he has about 40 here at his house.  The other night he opened a gift which was a Tulane Tshirt which he wore today.

I really hate that so many bowls are on ESPN.

I don't have cable. Ohio State games are important enough to me that I make arrangements but the rest I would watch if it was convenient. It isn't so I'll watch the Citrus today and that us it.

NYD used to be CFB all day long. Now one game. Go Purdue, Boiler up!
Are you a dinosaur?  You don't need "cable."
Get youtube TV for $70/mo and you get all the channels.  Cox, Spectrum, DirecTV, etc are charging like $200/mo for similar content, AND THEY ONLY STAY IN BUSINESS BY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE ELDERLY.

You can't pull youtube TV out of thin air with an antenna so you still need an ISP.  Mine charges me $80/month.  Add YoutubeTV or some other streaming service on top and it's $150/month-- which is exactly the same as what the cable provider (Spectrum) charges for a basic cable package with ESPN.

So?  Since the only available ISP is also the only available cable provider in my area, it's a wash.

Yeah, no.  Basic cable in my area through the only provider, is also around 150.  That's a bundle with the internet, since the internet bandwidth also comes in on the cable.

You can choose not to have cable television, but then you'd have to replace it with Youtube TV or some other streaming TV content provider.  So it costs the same either way.  Which is exactly why they've priced it this way.

The only way to actually save money would be to cut the cord entirely and just get television over the air.  Then I'd only be paying for the ISP which, as FF pointed out, I'd be paying for either way.

But of course, then I wouldn't have access to ESPN, which was the entire point of this discussion.
