Today is a Federal Holiday (NYD Observed). Not too many of us are working.
I'm never not working

Nope.  Just like the bowl games, when NYD is a Sunday, the Rose Parade shifts to the 2nd.

Quote
That's because the organizer of the parade, the Tournament of Roses Association, has a longstanding tradition to never hold the parade on a Sunday.

The parade began in 1890 and was annually held on New Year's Day. In 1893, when the parade was to fall on a Sunday for the first time, organizers moved it to the next day to avoid interfering with worship services or scaring horses tied up outside the churches.

The tradition has continued since and last happened in 2017.

I really hate that so many bowls are on ESPN.

I don't have cable. Ohio State games are important enough to me that I make arrangements but the rest I would watch if it was convenient. It isn't so I'll watch the Citrus today and that us it.

NYD used to be CFB all day long. Now one game. Go Purdue, Boiler up!

It's not just that NYD (or the day after in this case) isn't as important as it used to be-- it's also that every weekend during the college football season now has games from 11 AM to 2 AM.  That wasn't true 30 years ago.

NYD always felt more special, because there was simply MORE football being played, all day long.  Now, even if every game were on a different channel and not ESPN, there'd still be less to watch, than any average Saturday in the Fall.

I did not count on Caleb Williams showing up ready to rock.

Good for him.

I tend to make fun of people who complain of uncalled holds, but on Tulane’s 3rd and 4th down plays the LT got away with two pretty egregious holds.

And, yeah, that’s a catch. Tulane is going to win the game.
