better quickness and moves than top end speed, but he's not slow

special talent - easily the most talented player on the Husker roster

Purdue was on Robinson hard in the recruiting process... Indiana is a lot closer to Kentucky than Nebraska... Rondale Moore is leaving for the NFL...

Possible match?

He should play for the Bearcats over Kentucky or Louisville.

Another couple MSU transfers land in the MAC.  Pretty damning that not one departing MSU player has landed in the P5

... I'd argue that might be a smart move.

Washing out of one P5 and going to another always struck me as a not great idea.

Previously, yes.

Between the portal and the waivers, it seems more kids are seeking lateral moves.  MSU has brought in three kids from P5 schools this year.

That’s fair and true. But chances are, those transfers, on average, will help your team in smaller roles that showcase them less. Or, they’ll get beat out by other power five recruits.

And now 2 today do land at P5 schools, but both with a little bit of a caveat (one left for scheme change, one wasn't welcomed back due to off-field issues)

FB Max Rosenthal lands at Illinois.  Good for him, he was recruited by the old regime, and didn't have a fit in the new scheme.  Bielema got a goof FB here IMO.

LB Luke Fulton lands at Kentucky.  He was suspended from the team indefinitely following an assault arrest.  I don't think he actually played this year.  I was really high on him as a recruit.

Nebraska football added another big commitment from the transfer portal on Tuesday, as USC running back Markese Stepp committed to the Big Red.

The redshirt sophomore battled multiple injuries this year for the Trojans, but played in five of the Trojans' six games. He finished as the team's third-leading rusher with 165 yards on 45 carries, for an average of 3.67 yards a carry.

Stepp was on track for a breakout season in 2019 before suffering a season-ending ankle injury against Arizona. He had slowly earned more touches as the season progressed and hit his stride against Notre Dame. Though USC didn’t get the win, the Indiana native finished with a career-high 82 yards on 10 carries for a touchdown. Injuries sidelined Stepp later that season, and Stepp tried to return before the end of the season, but his rehab went through multiple setbacks before it was finally determined his season was over. The running back finished the season with 307 yards on 48 carries and three touchdowns in 2019.

The 6-foot, 228-pound Stepp, a native of Indianapolis, was the No. 14 running back in the country in the 2018 class according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, which rated Stepp a four-star prospect with an overall rating of 0.8991. He chose the Trojans over Notre Dame, Georgia, Miami and others as a prospect.

Stepp, who was a redshirt sophomore at USC last season, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining in Lincoln.

Haven’t been paying attention comrade.

Lots of transfers in P5 that go on to do big things. OSU’s stud national championship game starting QB and RB both from the portal.

The portal has changed the game- and that one time transfer with no sit rule is going to change it even further.

I wouldn’t call Fields a wash out. Sermon was kinda a numbers situation, and then delivered a weird year. He goes for 68.8 yards a game backing up OSU’s worst tailback in a while through the regular season, then goes supernova. Shoot, if Teague doesn’t get hurt, Sermon might’ve been a part-time back all the way through.

Now, having that backup is good for OSU, but if one hit goes differently, might have been just OK for Sermon. And most kids ain’t Sermon.

Former Nebraska star Wan'Dale Robinson  has announced his transfer to Kentucky. After a late push from Purdue, Robinson ultimately decided to return to his home state
