When we bought here, we had a Samsung that was very good, so I went with Samsung for my wall oven and induction stove when we remodeled. I've heard good things about LG too.

Mine was an LG. We bought them when we moved in 2017. They worked great and then the fridge died earlier this year and the stove seems intent on dying now. Say a prayer for my dishwasher.

We spent the last 5 days hanging out with my BIL on his property in Frederickburg.  They have a huge, nice, new barndominium with a massive 30' high garage for all of their toys and a really beautifully finished out 3-2 house section.  They fitted their brand new kitchen with top of the line appliances including a really fancy induction cook top.

I absolutely hated it.

I stopped using it and just switched over to my propane range in the RV.

It was really tough to dial in a specific temp and hold it.  I think there must be some hysterisis either in the control mechanism or the induction element, or both.  I find it much easier to establish a precise temp using gas.  Heck, I can actually look at the size of the flames and get a quick understanding of just how hot my pan might be.

Induction is fine for some things, but when you're used to cooking on a Wolf with gas, induction sucks. I don't like it. A lot of times I cook on my Summit burner or pull out the butane infrared.

That said, I'm pretty sure Sam has to choose between traditional electric, which sucks greatly, and induction, which I understands sucks less. 

He said gas isn't an option.

Ah yes, if it's only electric then that limits things.  The first, last, and only time I ever had straight electric was in one of my college apartments.  It really sucked.

But I'm not sure it was substantially worse than my BIL's fancy induction cooktop.  Perhaps some experience in dialing it in would make it better, I dunno.
