my father was like that - didn't try any exotic food until later in life

mid to late 50s when he started dating after my mother passed

therefore, I wasn't exposed to many foods until I left for college - Lincoln wasn't great for ethnic foods back on the early 80s but there were some.

that wasn't a factor - my mother was 100% German - cooked meat & potatoes - only midwestern food

well, we did get some pizza and spaghetti once in a while - Chef Boyardee

Neither was mine until he left the radio station and sold the restaurant.  

It's one of the reasons I've never aspired to become a Director or VP at my company-- I like spending time with my family.  Even with the kids' extracurriculars we still eat a home-cooked dinner together at least 4 days per week.

Our main meal was lunch*, which has carried over in my life. We rarely eat after 4-5PM.

*Back in the day, schools used to let kids go home for lunch.

this is a chain that is mostly pretty meh imo. went to the one in delray beach once and never went again. looked very promising, but then thought it was just OK, nothing special.

I really wish there was some marker or notifier at every restaurant to label the places with frozen/bagged food vs made-from-scratch.  Just a color-coded dot on their sign or something.  Akin to when they had to reveal calorie data some years back.  

I think a huge percentage of places used to be fresh, but are no longer.

Most places around here are generally fresh. It's easy to tell when something comes out of a bag - and then you never go back if you don't want that.

I had not realized it was such a large chain, usually a warning sign for me.  Some larger chains are "OK" though, I guess.

yeah I googled it for shits n gigs. 

it's a big multi-national conglomerate out of....South Korea. So not even a French or American company slanging croissants in America. Crazy.
