Yeah, it relates to confirmation bias. Some thing we like gets "five stars", so we feel justified in liking it, I guess. Same with wine of course, where it's probably worse than for other things.
"We" like confirmation of what we want to believe in the first place, by "experts". If the "experts" predict our team will lose, well, they were never really experts now were they?
If our team is ranked 18th, we think they should be at least 13th.
Watch the "news" that tells you what you want to hear, and ignore anything that is contrary as "fake news".
