I don't know much, but I know that is a bunch of BS.

Some of those are big rivalries, but it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. (All of them are big rivalries for their teams/alumni.)

But I'll play, and I'll pick one close to home to start out: the only reason anyone cares about Cal/Stanford is because of "the Play" in 1982. If the band hadn't been on the field, no one (nationally) would care a lick.

Harvard/Yale? Do the Yale-ies and the (???) care about it? Sure. Does anyone else? No. Not a lick. Was Harvard wins 29-29 an all-time college football moment? Sure. But that rivalry has nothing to do with big time college football.

The Florida teams? Those rivalries haven't mattered since the early aughts. And they didn't matter before the 80s.

You could take a look at average TV ratings and figure out which ones are the biggest from a national, all college football fans, perspective.

Michigan-Ohio State pretty much always beats all of the other regular season rivalry games.

What are the worst annual rivalry games?

Kentucky-Louisville is pretty lame, it's only been around since the 90s.

Any P5-G5 rivalry. (remember LSU-Tulane?)

Top rivalries, according to C-Dawg, and therefore "official", considering history, consequence to the national scene, parity, special features (neutral sites),and overall enthusiasm from fans:

OSU-UM  "The Game"  (Dunno why they call it that.)

Auburn - Bama

OU - Texas

UGA-UF

Eastern Michigan - Michigan State
