The years seem to skip around a lot, some odd numbered years omitted.  I dunno why.

They're not omitted. It's based on weeks, and with the width of the chart, each row spans multiple years. 

But as the seasons have extended with more games (12), then CCGs, then post-bowl rankings, you get fewer years represented by each row as you progress downwards on the chart.

So the top rows (1930s/40s) are ~4 years per row, while the bottom rows are ~2 years per row.

We took a wine class in Tuscany, one in Rome and one in Sicily.

We're good.

Italy has such a huge variety of wines I have no ambition to master half of them.  I do generally enjoy barolos a lot.

The nice thing about French wines is their varietals are pretty much the same as ours, so it's a lot easier to understand.

We can thank Jefferson for some of that.

Zinfandel is our oddball, I used to like zins a lot, have fallen out of the habit though when I have a nice one I like it.

Zins went through phase and I didn't, I moved on.  Cline makes pretty good value wines, so does Josh I think.  

I went to Cooper's Hawk once in Cincy for some birthday event.

We're trying a wine tasting dinner at Fogo du Chao next month featuring Daou wines.  It's a bit pricey, the dinner, but my wife likes the place.

Yeah, we don't go there.

I've been a couple of times in the last 10 years.  I like it but it's a little over the top for me, for regular dining and consumption.

For daily drinkers, I think it's hard to beat Costco's wines. Another nod to my Costco obsession. I don't really drink much of them, because we're trying to drink less, but better wine, which is going pretty well. For a nice, reasonably priced Cab, it's hard to beat Honig and Jordan. Beltane Ranch is a little winery out here that makes really good, reasonably priced zins and roses.

NOTE: sorry for the alcohol post right after your request, Riffraft. Hang in there: I just finished 12 dry weeks--wasn't that bad. Wish it was as easy to give up refined sugars.
