The dumbassery is in the starting in the first place.  After that it's just following a horrible choice to its inevitabe conclusion.

I reckon sometimes it starts with dumbassery but then you're just stuck.  i.e., you start smoking because you're a dumbass, then later you may no longer be a dumbass, but you still smoke.

I've known a few "serious" smokers who've successfully quit, but I emphasize the "few."  I've known more who can't seem to kick it.  Some go for a long time and think they've got it whipped, but then start again.

Another of the many many many reasons you're a dumbass if you ever start.

Like I said, my parents' generation were still being told by doctors that smoking was good for the lungs.  Obviously there was marketing behind it but the doctors were selling it and it's hard for me to blame anyone for buying.

But every generation thereafter has known better.  So you're a dumbass for starting it.  Super duper extra dumbass.

Happy because our little company just completed phase one of a big job (for us).  Very important step in our company's future.

If you're curious, we drilled a 545 foot well that is to be used for Public Supply, for a new convenience store coming in near here.  It's our biggest project to date, and we were doing some techniques and procedures we weren't completely familiar with.  We worked very hard, in 100+ heat all week, and today we verified that we made a good producing well that makes crystal clear water.  There are several more phases, but this one was the hard one.

I got in 2 good driving instruction opportunities with my deceased friend's daughter this week, in Vegas.  Mom reacts too much for her to stay focused and calm, so my patience came in handy.  First, we went to an empty parking lot and drove around and around.  Getting comfortable, making turns, nascar style.  Second one, we tried parking in a space.  Took a few tries, but she got better at it.  And then driving around her low-traffic neighborhood.  All good, but kind of shut down vs an oncoming car, lol.
She's such a good girl and it was something I've been meaning to do for awhile.  She didn't want to at first, but after each time, she was happy and told mom the highlights.
Proud of her.

I doubt doctors ever told folks smokin was good for their lungs, maybe some dumbass docs
not sure any generation was really smart about starting smoking

obviously, after getting more scientific warnings made more recent generations super dumbasses
