You don't know BO untill you've stood in line with Menonites who have been farming all day with no deodorant.

Don't act like you never had any Anabaptist experiences in rural Indiana

The multicultural experience of taking the elevator in the elctrical engineering building at UT rated fairly high on the scale of olfactory offense.  I don't know if it's Menonite-farmer bad, but suffice to say I had extra incentive to take the stairs daily.

Went to an Amish restaurant in PA some decades ago called Good and Plenty.  Very aptly named.  The food was good, but holy cow was there a lot of it.  They just kept feeding you and endless variety of home-style dishes.  It was like an all-you-can-eat buffet except you don't get up to go to the buffet, they just keep bringing you stuff.

Come to think of it, that made me happy that day.

I haven't been to a lot of places in rural Indiana. I generally didn't veer far off I-94/I-65 between the Illinois border and West Lafayette.

Yeah, the Amish eat Thanksgiving dinner for every meal, only with fried chicken instead of turkey.

Aw, yeah. Kind of a dead zone.

In Columbus you didn't have to venture very far out into the country. I grew up in the outermost suburb, and the next town over had two Mennonite restaurants, a cheese barn and a farmer's market.

Interesting. I know when I lived in at least one southern state. There was a little cluster of Mennonites nearby. Owned a couple of restaurants.
