(3) it is also Costco peppermint bark season. Very tasty. And I've managed not to just eat the whole damn box in one sitting (need to have some left when my eldest gets home from college next Saturday).
My food intake and diet over the last couple years has been pretty insane due to some fun health experiences, but that stuff is like crack.. I've always been a huge chocolate and peppermint fan.. So i can't look at it in costo and I can go into a starbucks during peppermint mocha season.

I drove the Jeep in this morning. Overcast/foggy and about 54 degrees. Had some mist accumulating on the windshield but nothing on me, so that was good.

I pass by the chocolate/peppermint bark. That's right up my alley but my wife abhors mint, so I know it'll all be eaten directly by me. I don't need that in my life.

Today is our office holiday cookie exchange / ugly sweater thing.

Normally I don't participate in this type of office BS, but I've got an old family recipe for chocolate snowball cookies, so I decided to participate. And I've got my "I drink and I know things" Christmas sweater, which isn't so much ugly as it is autobiographical...

How long does it take you to ride your bike 18 miles, what time do you have to be at work, and does your deodorant hold up when you get there?
An hour 5 to an hour 10, depending on conditions. I generally like to be in my office by 8:30--dependent on client and internal needs. We have a gym and shower in the building, so no worries about the deodorant--applied when I get here. I tend to leave the house between 6:30 and 6:45, which leaves time to go to the gym for a quick lift a couple of times a week, and cool off and shower before I get to the office (whether lifting or not). Today was not a lifting day, so I left at 6:45, and was in the office about 10 after 8.

That Costco chocolate peppermint bark stuff is delicious.  So delicious that I've now forbidden it in my house.

Wow.. and many days I'm annoyed by my 20 minutes on the Peloton in the morning.. that's seriously awesome!! And honestly inspirational.

Yeah, I keep thinking I should cycle into work... I have a mountain bike I bought and it's basically only gone up and down my street a handful of times in the last several years lol... Never seen a trail.

But then I realize that I'm trying to go into the office as infrequently as possible, and the hassle of riding ~13 miles each way, figuring out a shower, etc... Just seems too much. I'd rather just drive to/from and get my exercise at home on the Peloton.

I applaud your diligence.

I take the train home, which makes it much easier.

When I take the train to work, door-to-door is about 35-40 minutes, so I'm getting an hour plus of exercise, and only adding about 30 minutes to my commute, kind of a 2 for 1. Unfortunately, road biking is pretty efficient, so it's not like it makes me super fit. :-/

I used to do this all the time, but the teen parenting years were hard on me and my exercise routine. It's something I've returned to now that the kids are both in college.

I can imagine. Our local rec center is 11 min drive from the house and I used to get up in the mornings, head there, get a workout in and drive home. The 22 mins of drive time after kids was just not time I could allocate so when we built the new house, a lot of friends and family were questioning the portion of the finished basement that we made a gym. The setup is a perfect space for a movie room, but we did half the room gym, half kid's play area.. Best move ever. Has kept our exercise schedule much easier to keep.. although many days it means having to do it before any of the kids wake up.

Yeah, for me it was less a time/kids thing than a "friction" thing... If I have to drive to the gym, I'm just probably not going to go.

Being able to work out at home removes the friction. Being able to split my workout into chunks if needed due to other time constraints rather than budgeting a bigger block to cover everything at the gym plus r/t drive removes the friction.

So it's easy to just do it, since I don't have to leave the house.

Just got back from a pedicure. I'm happy.
No kidding.

I was worrying about the necessity to do that when I had to struggle to reach my toes.

Now, my wife is a massage therapist (after telling me she is NOT going to answer my phone and talk to assholes anymore), and I did enjoy a 1.5 hour full body therapeutic massage last night.

So I guess a pedicure isn't as completely gay as I might have thought 3 years ago!

Man, I've been doing pedi's for 30+ years. Every time I get one (every 3 weeks) my shoes feel brand new again.
