Went to the game this afternoon and the Ind(Guard)ians won 4-3 2 outs in the bottom of the tenth vs TB.They are now 66-66 on the year. This after Cleveland lost 10-0 Sat., 5-0 Sun.,9-0 Mon. My record is now 12-0 at Progressive Field since it opened in'94. 😎

I'm enjoying the dichotomy between this thread and the grumpy old man thread. So last night I would have been on the other thread. Did some cleaning in my kids' rooms because we have cleaners coming to do a deep clean, and needed to get their rooms ready for it. (Shocking development: kids did not do a good job cleaning their rooms before leaving for college.) When I finished, I was looking around and moping that these now-clean rooms will be empty most of the time, except during holidays and summers. Which was bumming me out.

BUT, this morning, when reading the grumpy old man thread, I was reminded that there is nothing stopping me from watching college football tonight because I do not have a back to school night, or any other child-related issues to schedule around. And that is making me happy. So BRAD, I'm sorry for your loss, but thank you for sharing because it made me feel better.

I'm doing marching band support work for a high school football game tonight-- and it's not even my kids' school or my kids' band!

But it's my high school alma mater, where my good friend is the volunteer semi-truck driver, and I'm going just because I get to ride around in an 18-wheeler through downtown Austin, and then watch some high school football.  Gonna be a blast!

Tomorrow night on the other hand, I'll be pit-packing for my OWN kids' high school band.  That is going to be a LOT more work.  I might take it to the grumpy thread...

Mine's only 801. It went down when I finally had all my CC debt paid off. I think my problem is that I just don't use credit often enough now for it to go up :57:

You're going to love that cookware...

We use credit cards (mostly the American Airlines one) for everything. as in EVERYTHING. It gets paid off every month.

This gives us a lot of free air travel and very high status with American.

That makes me happy.

This year I switched all business expenses to going on credit that gets paid off every month for this exact reason. There’s a couple we still pay through checking because they have a 5% credit card fee which is excessive, but outside of that there’s no incentive.

and suddenly, I can stomach taking a family of 6 to overpriced Disney because flights and hotels will no longer be an out of pocket expense.
