Today is 19 years at my company.
I was 32 years with mine, in part because I couldn't leave the county with the kids.

They still send me a Christmas box each year, it's usually pretty decent, and the health insurance is pretty cheap.  Their stock has not done all that well since I departed.

I know of some folks who left their entire retirement in company stock and lived off dividends.

FWIW, here was the trivia I responded to: spot the lie regarding college football:

1) A future Supreme Court justice narrowly missed winning the Heisman trophy. (I asked for clarification about whether state or federal; it is the U.S. Supreme Court.)
2) The first college football game was played during reconstruction.
3) A U.S. president personally ordered college football to address a safety crisis, including directing the legalization of the forward pass.
4) A field goal has, at times, been worth more than a touchdown.

When I got this correct, I was then quizzed about the biggest blowout in college football history. I have this site to thank for knowing the answer to that one as well. No need for framing it in a truth/lie; I just gave the answer.

FYI, that I am aware, at least three supreme court justices (state and federal) were also college football stars who played professional football.

Make it at least four...
;)

Two others are pretty well known--one in legal circles, one in football circles. The third that I was thinking of--a state supreme court justice in a traditional Big Ten state--is less so.

Fair, although this was used in the past tense: as in a college football player narrowly missed out on the Heisman trophy, and was later a federal Supreme Court Justice.

Given that, any further thoughts?

Others? [No google/AI searching, of course]

My work trip is 2 days of leadership training. Which sucks.

But one of our exercises was a group thing where we had to present pretty much off the cuff (15 minutes prep). And my teammates nominated me to lead... "You're marketing. You do it." :57:

So... I got up there. I nailed it. And we won.

The nominated leads for two other teams were sales or marketing people I work with frequently. So in addition to the nominal prize, I won bragging rights :72:

We had various semiannual "training" sessions of this ilk, I can't recall a single one that was useful at all.  Later in my career they were nearly all about Diversity, and even though they were "mandatory" I just stopped attending.  Nobody missed me.  I'd have a nice quiet day at work.

The difference in how old timers handled the sessions and the newer folks was always fun.
