I liked season 1 of Landman. Season 2 just couldn't keep my interest. The actors for the female characters on Taylor Sheridan's shows have to deal with some atrocious writing. I couldn't stand the red headed daughter on Yellowstone and the wife and daughter on Landman were two of the most vapid and ridiculously stereotyped characters I've seen in a while.

Red-headed daughter??

Yes, the wife and daughter on Landman are extreme, but if you wanted to try to give it credit, one could say the wife is what you get when a pretty country gal has undiagnosed bi-polar disorder.  For a sub-culture that might poo-poo that hippy medical stuff, a man has to decide if he wants to wife her up and ride that bull or not.  Because she sure as shit isn't getting medication for it.
And the daughter, well, maybe that's what you get when your daddy never tells you 'no' and you have an undiagnosed bi-polar mother.

But maybe it's just vapid writing.

I guess the character's name was Beth. It's been a while. I got through a couple seasons of Yellowstone before I lost interest.

She's blonde.  And yeah, she's basically full-bore bitch...pretty one-dimensional.  But she pays for it, physically, so that's something.  She doesn't walk through life like that unscathed, which would have been unrealistic.

I think it's probably an easy way to make the female characters matter more than just being window dressing (just having them be extreme).

If you guys think Sheridan only writes vapid stereotype stuff for women, you haven't watched Lioness.  Them are some bad bitches.  Although I, for one, appreciate the gratuitous nudity!

Got a couple more new Prime season drops to watch in between football 5 nights a week and MLB.  If only I had the time...

Mobland Season 2.  Watched the first 7 minutes by myself when wife was in the shower.  I think Pierce Brosnan as a mafia boss is more of a badass than he was as James Bond.

The Terminal List is back for Season 2 in a couple of weeks.  Must have found a cure.  Will have to watch to see.
