My Gen Z kids are pretty awesome.

Each generation probably overstates the issues of the youths. And each younger one probably over-resents the complaints of the older folks.

(I’m hoping that if I start a family in the mid-life crisis years, I’ll be too tired to fall too deep in it)

It's finally gotten hot enough that I have to use the A/C. Judging by the price of gas / natural gas, I'm guessing the electricity bill in my drafty old house is going to hurt.

At least it seems like a temporary wave--daily highs should drop back into the 70s by the middle of next week.

Repair place was supposed to be done with my truck today, but now they've tentatively moved the date back to next Tuesday.  This rental car is eating my lunch in cost (insurance no help thanks to no police report......thanks sheriff dept. for not showing up to a VEHICLE ACCIDENT called in!!!) not to mention my spine, trying to shove my lanky frame into this glorified go-cart.  Apparently there's a national back-order on the parts they need, with no ETA.

I've got a couple of dr. appts. next week I have to have a vehicle to leave work for and get back, but after that, if they're still not done with my truck, I need to turn the rental in and the wife and stepson are gonna have to figure out between them how to get me to and from work along with them.  Will be inconvenient for one or both of them.....oh well.  Not too convenient not having my ride either.

Grr.

Grumpy.

My older Gen-Z kid is unlikely to make a lot of money in their chosen profession, but I think they will be appreciated for their contribution to the field. My younger one will likely generate more taxable income. Both of them are awesome, as are most, but certainly not all, of their friends...and most of the kids I've coached in sports over the years, too. I think Gen-Z is just as capable and just as incapable as its forebearer generations. If I had to complain about any particular generation, it would be the Baby Boomers. So my grumpy old man rant is that the Boomers have taken more from the US than anyone before or since, and seem to think it's their birthright to weigh the rest of us down. But I'll stop there.

I'm really not a very grumpy old (middle aged) man. Except for people who use one space after a period and omit the Oxford comma. Those are bad habits--and also often attributes of Boomers.

Please elaborate.    What have the boomers “ taken”?
