The big story going into the game was Kansas State QB Ell Roberson playing despite a sudden investigation - from Wikie: 2004 Fiesta Bowl controversy: "In the early morning hours of New Year's Day, 2004, police were called to the Kansas State team hotel in Paradise Valley, Arizona, by a woman who accused Roberson of assaulting her. Roberson and the rest of the Kansas State team were in town to play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. Police did not arrest Roberson, and later determined that no crime had been committed and no charges should be filed, but an investigation by the Kansas State athletic department concluded that Roberson and several other players had violated unspecified team rules. As a result, Roberson was stripped of his scholarship by head coach Bill Snyder. Snyder decided this after the bowl game, which the Wildcats lost 35-28."

The old CFN one?  2002?

This board right here was started by Drew in 2017.

The original CFN board was 2001, I believe. I joined in 2002 and we had a group of 7 moderators there.

Then we moved to Scout in 2007 or 2008, when Pete sold CFN to them, and I was the sole admin (247 policy) but was able to make several posters moderators. That was a good run for us.

We were offered, albeit too late, to make the move to 247 with Scout. By the time that was offered to me, Drew had already created this.

So here we are.

Correct about CFB51.com 2017 startup. I do not recall what year the original board opened, or what year I joined. I am sure I got in on the action in its early days while ELA was still, Ann Arbor Adam - which reminds me of a story.
I had a law school classmate in the early 1980s who graduated from MSU, who told me that when the USSR national basketball team did their exhibition tours in the USA playing D-1 college teams in the November exhibition season, he and his MSU classmates would  watch the Soviets play Michigan and cheer for the Soviets.
How ELA ever crossed that divide would constitute a story in and of itself.

I think Fitz was '01 - '02 possibly?  So I'm gonna guess 2002 here.

I would think you would know those were not the ABC graphics in OSUs title year.  I'll say 2003.  I think Fitz was 2003-2004
