Name that Year
« on: March 27, 2022, 09:36:27 PM »
A fun off-season thread could be screenshots posted from random seasons and you have to guess what year or share some thoughts about it.
Here's one.
If people like it, we can keep it going.
Youtube has weekly ESPN highlight show footage.

Texas Tech @ Penn St? A season opening game?

1995?

I specifically remember watching this game because it was the first time I ever watched anything Texas Tech. And as a kid living in Texas at the time, it kinda reminds me how coverage for the Aggies and Longhorns, and prime-timing their games, drowned out the other Texas schools. All the local papers from Houston to San Antonio devoted there college coverage to those two, understandably.

From what I remember, Texas Tech moved into the rankings the next week up to 22nd. Even though they lost, the voters were impressed enough with the Red Raiders going toe to toe with a 4th ranked team on the road.

I got it, but will leave it for the Horns

“I’m wearing that “BEAT TEXAS” hat, but I didn’t know I was wearing that son of a b****. ,” he said. “Everybody thought I was wearing it on purpose. But it was raining and the equipment managers handed me a hat. Never told me it was a “BEAT TEXAS” hat.”
