We always do a chili cookoff between the 4-5 families that we go winter camping with.  Since we're headed out on the 27th, I'll probably make a batch on the 26th and then refrigerate it for a few days.  It's always so much better after a day or three of melding.

Fearless, I think that the beef stew I made last year for the Nebraska game in Minneapolis was much closer to beef bourguignon than normal beef stew, due to a generous slug of red wine instead of just water for the beef stock.

Celebrating with the in-laws. Homemade cinnamon rolls tomorrow morning, stuffed shells and steak tomorrow night, GR Christmas soup next week, and homemade Chicago-style deep dish pizza for NYE.

Merry Christmas to all of you wonderful folks.

for Gophers, you guys can rock a tailgate.  The stew was fabulous as was everything else.  Great hosts.  Merry Christmas!

my daughter's boyfriend works at the new distillery in Lincoln

I have two handles of Tito's sitting on top of the fridge.

this stuff is very good.... a bit sweeter than Tito's..  Corn sugar
I'm hoping a get a bottle of the white whiskey for Xmas tomorrow.

A very white Christmas here in Columbus. Baked a bunch of cookies. The kids are asleep. The embers are dying and I'm sipping some wine. Pretty fine Christmas Eve.

Ya well they said 3-6"s it's at least 6 my big fear is the rookie snow driver who literally makes it worse by slowing down and letting huge slices fall off the plow
