It's nice "we" as a country don't have any significant issues to discuss beyond Epstein.
the crazy thing is- the more Trump tells his base to shut up about Epstein- the bigger the story seems to get. maybe he should stop crashing out about it on social media?

Probably.

He should probably just stay off social media entirely.

Well I dropped out of the ratings over 30 years ago, but apparently somebody was still watching during that time... somebody who no longer is.
A bunch of somebodies, apparently. ;)

A bunch of nobodies, cause I don't know any of them.

The bigger point is that he's somehow managed to piss off Rupert Murdoch.

As for the inevitable lawsuit, I would imagine 'ol Rupert's response to be something along the lines of this:
The falling out happened long ago - before Trump's first term.

like everything else, it's politicized and sensationalized.

CBS is a major for profit corporation who is all about one thing, the bottom line. When your ad revenue from a product goes from $439 million a year to under $220 million a year and is trending downwards ever greater- yeah you're probably just gonna cut bait and kill the product. Between what they were paying Colbert every year to paying the salaries of the hundreds of other staff- they were probably breaking even at best or even losing money. And with basically zero potential of growth and it being a decaying dying market- they were always going to just cut bait and some point and shut everything down and get out of that business.

I saw a post that said it cost CBS $100 million/year to produce the show and it was only making $40 million/year.  That’s a problem.

Heh, I had no idea ratings for late night shows were dropping so rapidly, since I haven't watched any of them since the Letterman on NBC days, but when I went to google and entered "ratin" it immediately auto-populated with "ratings for late night television shows."

Which I thought was pretty funny.  Must be a hot topic for investigation.
It’s kind of wild they still exist as a thing. But I suppose they probably made “enough” money for a while.

Sorry, cost $100 million/year to produce but was losing $40 million/year.
