In the grand scheme of things, the Epstein “files” are way down the list of important, practical issues.  Yes, some in the Trump circle hyped this up too much but I never thought there was anything really newsworthy since as noted before the names of people allegedly involved has been known for sometime (see reference to Epstein’s Rolodex, we already know who went to the island).

This tweet and the others in the thread provide one explanation for why there’s nothing there -

“Anyone who rapes kids deserves the death penalty.

Here's the problem with the Eipstein mess:

The FBI doesn't have the evidence many thought it did.

There are not tapes with powerful men raping kids.

There is not a list.

(Eipstein's rolodex is already public.)

And the file is largely unreleasable, for many reasons including:

1. Grand-jury materials

2. Court records under seal

3. Child pornography

4. Protection of victims

5. Unsubstantiated, even double- or triple-hearsay, bogus claims (like we saw during the Kavanaugh proceedings), which would permanently destroy the reputation of innocent people if released

Does anyone really believe Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, or Dan Bongino would cover up for the likes of Bill Clinton or Bill Gates--if they had that evidence?

The Trump Justice Department wanted to be fully transparent. But it can't, for the reasons above. This is a case of no good deed goes unpunished.

This is no doubt unsatisfying to many. But that's the hard truth.”

Good stuff.

but come on man.  Hurricane?  Trumps fault.  Flood?  Trumps fault.  War in zimbabwherever ?

Trumps fault.  Now you have people in here who are making up conspiracy theories about Trump, with absolutely zero shreds of evidence.

it’s so stale and so yesterday.  95% of the crap he has been accused of has been debunked, but it is lost on those with TDS.  And as a reminder- I don’t like the guy at all.

I think the nature of being into politics means people are perpetually deranged. We had four years on here where I learned the former president was to blame for a great many things. Wars, train crashes, hurricane response, etc.

On the Epstein front, that's been going for a while, they were friends, it's always a space for assuming this and that, owing to it being a conspiracy theory (especially with the dog catching the car element).

I can see the argument Trump is surrounded by more derangement. Is some of that liberals being over screechy? For sure. But he's also a guy who acts in a perpetually norm-defying way, a way we'd consider uncivil. And I honestly think if a liberal president said the kinds of things he often does, the comments from people on the right who get into this stuff wouldn't sound worlds different.

Two sides, same coin, similar experience.

The Epstein thing was pretty obviously mishandled, at least by Bondi.  I don't see any other explanation for that.

This was a mostly sleeping dog.

Someone was - but not him.

FEMA's response to the train crash and to the major hurricanes was a joke. Trust me. That organization needed to be gutted.

Now responders (who are mostly local and will be even more so moving forward) who actually care - they won't skip houses with political signs or flags.

I think the Epstein crap is now just a distraction from Biden allowing his staff to pardon people like Fauci.

I THINK what we hear a lot that "people say" are the extremes on both sides (or the famous, which can mean the same thing).  We hear little from some Democratic Congressman from say Colorado, who might well be a pretty rational person, or some Republican from Alabama, same thing.  We do hear a lot form zealots, extremists, folks who have worked hard to appear often in the media, and of course officials in higher office, which makes sense, but even for them, we hear more from the folks who like to say ... weird things, than other comparable leaders who sound pretty rational.

Political moderates don't post political stuff on social media, or if they do, nobody pays them any mind.  Same with many politicians.

The Epstein crap was surfaced by Bondi.  Without her, this is not a news story at all.

The people here, North Carolina, and New Palestine definitely had/have something to be mad about.

And you just proved that it makes a good distraction from other stories that should be news.

Who impacted YOUR life more - Epstein or Fauci?

Neither one impacted my life that I know of.  I do know Trump have Fauci a Presidential Commendation.  Maybe it was the autopen that did it.

President Trump Awards Presidential Commendations to Operation Warp Speed Team – The White House

My simple point is Bondi is the individual most responsible for turning Epstein into a current story with rumors and innuendo and speculation now running amuck.

I don't really care much about Epstein now, but I find all the furor today to be "interesting".  Democrats think  the "list" is being withheld because Trump is on the "list".  I've even read somewhere that "the list" was already made public, somewhere.  If so, this is a lot of entertainment about something being withheld from the public that was already made public.
