They don't need plutonium and they could get there anyway when they choose.

And they have missile capability of delivering nuclear warheads.

They have  a nuclear weapons program.  This isn't really in doubt.

You should stick with the concern over Israel's nuclear weapons capability.  You're actually on solid ground with that one.

I have not seen credible reporting that Israel has been "heavily damaged" by Iranian missiles and drones.  Obviously some got through, we see images on line of damage, but nothing appears to be widely spread, just point destruction.

Germany fired 500+ V2 rockets at London killing est. 2754 civilians, so about 6 per missile.  The V2 warhead was around 1,000 kg, the largest Iranian warhead is around 750 kg.  

Obviously the large Allied bombing raids were far more lethal, especially when using incendiaries.

Deaths in the Israel-Gaza War
As of June 25, 2025, reports indicate a significant number of deaths on both the Palestinian and Israeli sides as a result of the Israel-Gaza war that began on October 7, 2023.
Palestinian Deaths:
Over 56,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Over half of these reported deaths are women and children, though the ministry does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
Some studies suggest the actual death toll may be even higher.
Israeli Deaths:
1,195 people, including 815 civilians, were killed in the initial Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023.
Over 860 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the war began, with more than 400 of those deaths occurring during fighting in Gaza.
A total of 1,706 Israelis have been reported killed in the Gaza war according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

As of June 26, 2025, during the conflict with Iran, 28 Israelis have died. The vast majority of these were civilians. There were also over 3,000 wounded.

The Palestinian numbers are a little odd. On the one hand, they’re probably not super accurate because they are being compiled by a terrorist organization in a place where it’s probably a nightmare to track anything. On the other, they might’ve stopped counting a while ago because of infrastructure issues?

I don't see any credible evidence that Israel stopped fighting because the damage caused by Iran was too great.

The Iranian leaders have to claim victory, obviously, just as do Israeli leaders.  Neither claim should affect our perceptions here.
