Israel had apparent air superiority over any part of Iran.  Their work with tankers is remarkable, to me.  They had the tacit approval of Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and Syria and Jordan weren't complaining about over flights by tanker aircraft.

They could be dropping multiple 500 lb dumb bombs on Tehran.  They didn't.

With "insane tyrant from the shadows" are you referring to Robert Moses or some other Democrat Machine politician with whom I am less familiar?

Gentrification comes up as an issue around here fairly often.  There is a lot going on, and areas that once were sketchy, or worse, now are highly prized and expensive.

I see mayors saying things about it, but basically they want it to continue.

They could be dropping multiple 500 lb dumb bombs on Tehran.  They didn't.
And they still failed in their main objectives of getting the US sucked into a direct hot war (for now at least) with Iran and regime change in Iran (for now at least). No one is debating Israel has air superiority- that goes without saying- but that alone cannot win you a war.

And any 500 lb dumb bombs on Tehran would be returned in kind by Iran with ballistic missiles & drones on Tel Aviv. Tehran metro area has a massive population- but Iran has 90+ million people- with a lot of the population spread out and in rural areas. Just under half of Israel's total population lives in Tel Aviv metro area. Iran also is not stretched thin with military resources on 3 other fronts- 4 other fronts actually because Israel maintains military resources in the West Bank- and the cost of Iranian missiles and drones is orders of magnitude cheaper than Israel's "Iron Dome" anti-ballistic missiles and they are also not wholly dependent on a single foreign country (us) for weapons like Israel is.

Just do the math. They couldn't continue this forever- they were going to take too much damage and it costs too much money on an Iron Dome that doesn't work- and they weren't very likely to ever pull off regime change without the US blowing the hell out of Iran from skies and putting boots on the ground.

Whether the attack successfully destroyed the centrifuges and other production equipment or not, I just hope Trump sees it as successful, and we're done with it.

He's currently bloviating and blustering about how it was an amazing attack, really the best attack anyone has ever seen, totally successful, total destruction.

I don't care whether or not that's true, I don't care if he's lying, or being lied to, or just too confused or stubborn to see otherwise-- as long as it means the USA is not involved any further, I'm golden.

Why America's giant bunker-busting bombs may have failed to reach their target : NPR

This NPR "analysis" includes a lot of factors involved which are pretty obvious, and concludes maybe, but who knows?

In my opinion, I don't know, maybe there is enough intel to know what happened, maybe not.  Like utee, I want to be out of it, except perhaps for some yammering.

well the leaks are pointing to....probably not. Trump would never admit it wasn't a complete success so anything coming from him right now is not legit. We'll know when we actually know I guess.

but they knew this was likely to be the case beforehand. according to a report from The Guardian, Pentagon was saying internally that a tactical nuke would be the only thing that they knew for sure could destroy it- but only after it had been penetrated/softened by conventional bombs first.

Great.

It was an amazing strike, it was a beautiful strike, really the best bomb strike in the history of war.  You can really just sit back in awe and wonder at the exquisite grandeur of this amazing strike.

Consequently, there is no need to intervene in the area again.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Agreed.  The more interesting aspect of this for me is the humor that CNN wanted so badly for this strike to be not successful and their willingness to report that even though it came from a top secret Anonymous leak.

Putting their party before country.  Clearly.
