I was never forced to take it, but did, now annually.  The first couple made me tired for a few hours.  Since then, not a thing.

I get mostly told today that the illness is not longer that bad for normal folks.

Vaccine maker stocks fall as Trump chooses RFK Jr. to lead HHS

Shares of vaccine makers fell Thursday as President-elect Donald Trump nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent vaccine skeptic, to lead the Department of Health and Human Services
The stocks fell in the final hour of trading as reports emerged about Trump’s expected pick. Moderna’s stock closed more than 5% lower on Thursday, shares of Novavax fell more than 7% and Pfizer’s stock ended more than 2% lower.

Shares of BioNTech, the German drugmaker that helped develop a Covid vaccine with Pfizer, closed more than 6% lower. British drugmaker GSK, which makes flu shots and several other vaccines, closed roughly 2% lower.
Shares of those companies dipped further in extended trading as Trump confirmed his pick in a post on his platform Truth Social.

Rudy Giuliani lawyers seek to quit defamation claim case

I have thought for quite a while that Rudy has gone senile and then some.

If you wanted to travel, internationally and to many domestic states, you were forced.

I still have my "vaccine passport" as proof.

I remember Florida residents being on Illinois' "no admittance" list.

That state border stuff was such stupid theater. It was when Illinois did it and was in Florida did it.

I have this bit of easily faked paper that shows when I was vaccinated.  I don't think I was forced to get it, except perhaps if I chose to do X or Y.

Some employees were forced if they wanted to keep their job.

I dimly recall MAYBE I had to show the bit of paper for casual inspection twice, maybe three times, in order to do "X".  Aside from that, neither of us had any real reaction to the vaccine, fortunately, beyond being tired a bit.  "Stuff" does happen, at times, and folks maybe blame it on the vaccine when it had other causes, but "we" do know the vaccine did induce some reactions in people, mostly younger males.

I asked my doc about this RSV vaccine last checkup, it was an interesting discussion.  Basically, the message below the lines was "Don't bother", and he says he's a vaccine pomoter.  He said it was maybe needed for folks in poor health.

I was quite glad to hear him provide perspective and not just write me the script.

In other news, my eyesight is better than 20-20 for distance, I have lost my vision inside two feet as expected.  I bought some "bifocal" readers yesterday that work.  The top part has zero correction.  My eyes are a bit "gritty" still, but about like being a few minutes after waking up.  I have to wear a guard at night over the right eye and use some drops in it 4x a day.  Moxifloxacin drops.  This is a pretty facile procedure.

FACT OF THE DAY:

About 50 million years ago, whales walked on land and were about the size of a wolf.

I'm not so sure how "they" can be so sure about whales 50 million years ago

I'm still reading about the Younger Dryas period.  Apparently the planet has had several of these in the past for reasons still debated.

Our climate can change pretty radically in a lifetime apparently.

Who did he leave in place from the Obama administration?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_cabinet_of_Donald_Trump

And do you really think Robert Kennedy Jr. is exciting (in a good way)?
I’m certainly not a RFK Jr super fan, but if you actually listen to what he’s been saying and NOT what the media reports he makes a lot of sense.

He is certainly not anti-vax. He just has the gall to question certain aspects of the entirety of the process , raises serious questions about skyrocketing rates of autism, obesity, and lots of other chronic health issues that plague our country.

I think "skyrocketing cases" of "X" is an indication that we can define and diagnose "X" now, usually, better than in 1950.

Cancer rates overall are down despite better means of detection.

Nobody from the cabinet.  Hundreds of higher and mid-level federal staff.

And especially yes- RFK over the current disaster.

Exactly. The person on the left puts on a dress and thinks it makes him a woman.

The person on the right has the audacity to question the safety of our medicine and food, in a country with sky rocketing rates of obesity, diabetes, autism, and other chronic health problems.

Who is the crazy person in this picture ?
