Hopefully he ditches all of that “enemy within” bullshit
In other news, don't expect me to opine about anything political any more. I don't want to make it on "the list".

This was a feature, not a bug.

I got nothing today. Be nice to everyone. Protect those in need of protection. And get rest.
Eh, I don't see any different rhetoric coming from the Democrats.  Acting as if a Trump presidency marks the end of the world and is an existential threat to humanity is no less divisive, and no less fantastical.

I didn't vote for him and I don't like him but there are no heroes or good guys when it comes to the current bullshit identity politics war being waged in this country.

For the second part I completely agree.   And I'd add-- take your local voting seriously, that's what matters most to your day to day lives, that's where you can really make an impact for yourselves and your families.

His own party solved that problem for him with a coup. They all knew what he was, and so did you.

Trump is too old, IMO, but he's not senile and frail and he doesn't need a teleprompter at all times.

Big difference.

How about

Nobody over 70 can run. Nobody over 74 can serve.
He is senile and frail. People who don't want to see it seemingly just choose not to.

And he doesn't need a teleprompter because no one expects him to say anything coherent. He just babbles and has for a while.

I am again finding it notable how we choose our government on such slim margins overall.  An elected President generally wins key states by 51-48 or so.

A LOT of people voted for the loser.  Usually a new President reaches out to them at least verbally (initially), and then we fall back into the old enemies way of thinking.  I doubt Trump makes much of an effort.  Even though the votes were close in many states, "we" are very polarized about Trump.

I think he's been pretty clear on his intentions.  Whether or not he's successful, or can even possibly have a chance at being successful, remains to be seen.  But it's clear he wants to put stronger controls on illegal immigration, he wants to influence the end of wars in Ukraine and Israel/Palestine, and he wants a "better economy" whatever that might mean.  And I also expect him to attempt to continue some of his policy from the first term, like being stronger on incenting/forcing further decoupling of American manufacturing from Chinese state-controlled firms.
So the immigration part is a policy.

Ending wars and having a good economy are goals of basically every president. The how is the policy, and that is what there isn't much to track.

The decoupling would also mean short-term (and maybe medium term) slowdowns for the economy. So in the end, that's a nice grab bag of big things, but those last parts are mostly just the positive vibes part of his platform.

I wish I was as senile and frail as Trump, and I'm only 49.

I just don't see evidence. He doesn't fall down on stage (unless he's shot at), doesn't fall down steps, doesn't need anyone to tell him where to go on a stage, etc. He seems sharp in every interview I've bothered to watch.

When I do start seeing that, and I expect to, I'll call it out just the same. Trust me.

My lasting conclusion as well. In just the past week:

1) A guest on Joe Scarborough warned me that a Trump win would result in a "presidency of retribution" where he will "literally shoot his detractors in the streets" and "use the military against us."

2) Someone on both the View and MSCNBC (maybe Maddow?) said that a Trump win would "mean the last election America ever has" before becoming a singular dictatorship.

To me, hysterics like these sabotaged rational reasons for voting against Trump.

I would add to that some kind of reduction in the Federal workforce, he may try and eliminate some cabinet departments.

And of course, he wants to usurp total control of government and eliminate Democrats in Congress and SCOTUS ...

Didn't OBAMA create a bunch of Federal Jobs in Washington? So why not remove them if so - just another added burden like the border - all IMHO of course

In the last month, he nearly fell off a truck, struggled to open the door of that truck, seem to forget what state he was in or Who he was supposed to be talking about and made his staff set something up where he could play McDonald’s.

Maybe a Democrat could do all that and republicans would say he is just peachy, but I’m pretty doubtful.

I wouldn't call Trump "frail", but I am inclined to think his mind "wanders" a lot.  Is that a sign of something more important?  Maybe.

Frail, to me, is someone who basically can't walk 20 steps without a walker.

I'm sure folks will keep a sharp eye on any verbal "issues" in speeches and whatnot.

Brandon walked right past doors the Secret Service pointed to and shuffled off into the lawn at Camp David in 2021.That's not a frailty, where were your objections?
