The thing I like about most "fact checkers" is they explain their basis and provide some links or references. They aren't always right of course, they make mistakes, but I believe they USUALLY are correct, and at minimum worth considering. One can review such a check and determine if it seems reasonable or not.
The alternative of course is to believe whatever you want to believe in the first place and discount all "fact checks" and counter arguments. That is more comfortable.
