I decided a while back I couldn't vote for someone I didn't think was "OK". Basically, I stopped voting. And you know what? The lack of my vote impacted zero election outcomes even at the local level. Give me a candidate who is at least "OK" and maybe I'll vote for the person. My wife wants to vote this time around, so I'll probably go with her and write someone in for President, and then look at all the judges and dogcatchers on the ballot and just guess.
A very liberal person would likely opine Harris is pretty conservative, or moderate at most, it's normal. The frame of reference is different. And she has made an effort to appear to be more moderate by changing a number of her positions and being silent about others, which is typical. Most politicians, I think, are "I'll say anything to get elected."
Incidentally, I sent a small contribution to sfbadger's wife's campaign for the House a while back. I know she has integrity and would make a serious effort to "do good". Whether she is liberal or conservative for me pales in importance.
