Seems like maybe we should change the system, huh? Maybe take the $$$ out of politics. As long as the RNC and DNC exist as they do, nothing will change.
I'd prefer each candidate gets the same public funding and let the best ideas rise to the top. Speech is speech, speech isn't money. It's a bullshit cop-out and it's created a broken political system.
need to get money out of politics for sure. also need to completely ban foreign lobbying groups like AIPAC from even being allowed to lobby at all in this country and need far tighter restrictions on US based lobby groups.
need to break up the uniparty duopoly. there should be more political parties and choices than: two.
also need max age limits for politicians. term limits would also be a great idea. there are term limits on presidents, why not senators and congressmen? I'd say 4 terms max should be plenty. this thing whole experiment was meant to be a public service- not a fucking 50+ year career to enrich yourself and serve rich donors...looking at you Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi. should also have to take IQ and competency tests to run for federal office imo. we need more smart people in charge and less of the fucking corrupt idiots that we do have.
need to put rules in place to completely ban insider trading and crack down on regulatory capture by banning politicians and bureaucrats by law from jumping from government to private sector for x amount of years. oh and the out of control rouge "intelligence community" nanny spying state and military industrial complex also need to be brought to heel and largely gutted and completely reformed, rethought, and reconstituted and fall back into complete control of the executive branch and congress needs to actually exercise it's oversight powers to ensure those agencies are not breaking the law and punish them when they do so. people who falsified the intelligence to push the Iraq war, ran torture programs, falsified evidence and launched an obvious bullshit investigation on zero evidence into Donald Trump over Russian collusion- need to get prosecuted and go to jail. people in the intelligence community like James Clapper and John Brennan who lie under oath to Congress need to get prosecuted for perjury and....go to fucking jail. What happens to them? Oh nothing at all. They wind up with huge tv contracts on CNN and MSNBC. Lol real news networks there! Way to lick the boot of power instead of you know, actually doing journalism and speaking truth to power.
oh and former presidents and senators like Obama or Clinton going out and giving speeches to Wall Street banks, private equity firms, and hedge funds for $750k for a one hour speech once they get out of office should be banned. these are merely just after the fact bribes. case in point: one of that dickless traitor Barack Obama's final acts in office was to bail out private equity landlords and then soon as he got out of office he was giving speeches to them for $750,000. #SavingDemocracy.
of course absolutely none of this will ever happen because: we can't have nice things and we are royally fucked.
