Atlanta man calls 911 over cat's smelly litter box (fox5atlanta.com)
Atlanta man calls 911 over cat's smelly litter box (fox5atlanta.com)

The Atlanta Police Department shared audio from the call on Facebook.
"The cat got the house smelling bad ma'am," the man told the 911 dispatcher. "She's trying to burn incense in here, but it's not getting better. It's getting worser - the smell."

Officials say while they love Atlanta's feline friends, a lingering odor from a litter box is not something to dial 911 for and can actually make it more difficult for people with serious emergencies to get the help they need.

ok tell us how that fights inflation
I mean, I said it was wild, I didn't say a thing about it's efficacy. (It's an interesting style of government handout, for sure)

But, giving it a closer read, I think the headline implication is that because inflation is making life more expensive, one answer is to move to somewhere with a lower cost of living. I'm not gonna do it, and I imagine the paperwork is going to be a real bear, but WV is nice, and if I was feeling a squeeze and looking for something else, I'd consider it.

I counted five shots fired, but it was rapid, and yes, when the police fire a gun, they are taught to fire until the target is clearly neutralized.

That will generally mean 4-7 rounds.  They don't shoot to wound.

I didnt mean you came up with the idea

Moving to a better place cost of living wise is a great idea but why would the government pay for it

looks like another give away project

A local government might pay folks to move there to increase their tax base especially if the town is drying up.  I read about towns in Italy where one can buy a house for one euro.  I then read varying experiences with folks who do it, usually not great.

If a town is thriving they won't do this obviously.

Rescheduling does not decriminalize marijuana or make it legal for recreational use on the federal level.
Even if marijuana is rescheduled, it would still be a controlled substance that’s subject to federal rules and regulations.
Instead, the change would recognize the medical uses of cannabis and acknowledge it has less potential for abuse than some of the nation’s most dangerous drugs. Becoming a Schedule III drug would make it easier for research to be done on marijuana as well.
It would also potentially cut the federal taxes that companies pay. Under the federal tax code, businesses involved in “trafficking” in marijuana or any other Schedule I or II drug can’t deduct rent, payroll or various other expenses that other businesses can write off. (Yes, at least some cannabis businesses, particularly state-licensed ones, do pay taxes to the federal government, despite its prohibition on marijuana.) Industry groups say the tax rate often ends up at 70% or more.

It perhaps sounds as if the cop tried to grab the door handle and SS took off, not seeing or hearing the cop, and the cop fell down, maybe he couldn't let go right away.

Then the cop got mad.
