Lots more information coming out. I'm gonna bet that all charges will be dropped. Read this elsewhere, and I agree:

If I'm Scottie, I'm telling the City of Louisville to get that checkbook ready.... and you can all but guarantee this will be the last time the PGA will ever be in Louisville again.
Good for L'ville if the duffers think they can drive on the course and not on the road - guess again. Misunderstanding? Somebody died earlier and douche nozzle's worried about a T-Time? Evidently the officers felt that traffic laws apply to the PGA,also regardless of the excuse.

You don't have the straight story on this one. If anyone is in for trouble, it's the cop.

Scheffler’s attorney, Steve Romines, released a statement on the incident.

"In the early hours of the morning in advance of his tee time Scottie was going to the course to begin his pre round preparation," he said, via Sports Illustrated. "Due to the combination of event traffic and a traffic fatality in the area it was a very chaotic situation He was proceeding as directed by another traffic officer and driving a marked player’s vehicle with credentials visible. In the confusion, Scottie is alleged to have disregarded a different officer’s traffic signals resulting in these charges.

"Multiple eyewitnesses have confirmed that he did not do anything wrong but was simply proceeding as directed. He stopped immediately upon being directed to and never at any point assaulted any officer with his vehicle. We will litigate this matter as needed and he will be completely exonerated."

My guess is they both made mistakes, the cop APPEARS in my view to have over reacted.  They do at times.  SS probably should have paid more attention, but he did have stuff on his mind, not an excuse.

They'll drop the charges down to some simple misD and move on.

ESPN reported that Scheffler drove past a police officer in his SUV with markings on the door indicating it was a PGA Championship vehicle. The officer screamed at him to stop and then attached himself to the car until Scheffler stopped his vehicle about 10 yards later. ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington characterized it as a "misunderstanding with traffic flow" as authorities were investigating a traffic fatality earlier in the morning.

"Scheffler was then walked over to the police car, placed in the back, in handcuffs, very stunned about what was happening, looked toward me as he was in those handcuffs and said, ‘Please help me,’" Darlington said on ESPN’s "SportsCenter." "He very clearly did not know what was happening in the situation. It moved very quickly, very rapidly, very aggressively."

"Right now, he’s going to jail," one officer at the scene told Darlington. "He’s going to jail and there ain’t nothing you can do about it."

Picking up the "cheese" discussion from the other thread-- I'm thinking about making my own cheese.  I looked it up and it doesn't look particularly difficult, though it does look rather time-consuming.

Any of y'all ever make your own cheese?
As you can imagine...

...of course I have!

Amazon says I ordered this kit all the way back in 2015. I've only tried mozzarella, not the ricotta. I know I haven't done it since I met my wife, so it would only be in 2015 that I actually tried it. I maybe only made about 3 attempts at it.

The process was easy, and the cheese tasted good, but I didn't really ever get the really nice soft consistency that I wanted. It always ended up as a harder mozzarella.

I'd say go for it!

I have a feeling the charges will be dropped. I don't see Scottie suing; it's not his style.

Scheffler’s attorney, Steve Romines, released a statement on the incident.
This from USAToday 50 minutes ago
The officer, dressed in a reflective rain jacket, stopped Scheffler and attempted to give him instructions, but the subject "refused to comply and accelerated forward," dragging the officer to the ground, damaging his $80 uniform pants "beyond repair." The officer, who was identified as Detective Bryan Gillis, was taken to the hospital for further treatment and "suffered pain, swelling to abrasions to his left wrist and knee."

“The police officer attempted to attach himself to Scheffler’s car, and Scheffler then stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla,” Darlington wrote on X. “The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs.”

“At which point (Scheffler) - seeing me behind him - said ‘can you help?’ The police officers instructed me to step back,” Darlington told audiences on air shortly after.

In a video posted on X an hour later, Darlington follows the police officers as they lead Scheffler away. Several police officers tell him to step back.

“Right now he’s going to jail. He’s going to jail and there’s nothing you can do about it.” one officer told Darlington, referring to Scheffler. Darlington clarifies that he’s a member of the media, and the police reiterate that he needs to step back.

“The police officers around the patrol car in which Scottie Scheffler was in had no idea he was even Scottie Scheffler,” Darlington clarified on air. “I say that because one police officer came up to me with his pad and said…can you tell me the name of the person who was just arrested.”

Darlington said that players were told they were allowed to enter the facility, and that Scheffler said that he kept driving past the police vehicle because he “didn’t know that he was a police officer.”

There were a lot of people directing traffic, and the detective's instructions did not mirror the instructions of others.

Maybe the detective should detect. Louisville has a lot of problems bigger than this one.
