The easiest way to lessen the impact of the Electoral College is a sizable increase in the size of the House of Representatives.
I don't think that would be any easier than just doing away with the EC.  Both have very high hurdles.  And that wouldn't impact Presidential elections (unless there was a tie).

The "Compact of the States" is the most innovative way of eliminating the influence of the EC, but I think if it ever happened, folks would find they don't like it either.  And, it MAY be unconstitutional.

Nah. No need.

Every ten years it rolls around. NY loses two. Cali loses two. Illinois loses two.

Gains in states that do things right.

That is what works. The people choose.

Yup.  As long as the Constitutionally-mandated system of federalism remains intact, people can vote with their feet.

When the Federal government overreaches and usurps powers that should remain with the states and municipalities, the purpose of federalism is defeated (as is the Constitution).

It's much easier to expand the House than eliminate the Electoral College. The House is only set at 435 by a 1911 law and can be changed whenever Congress so chooses. Changes to the EC require a full constitutional amendment.

As for size, the population of Great Britain is ~1/6 that of the US, yet there are 650 seats in the Commons.

More people trying to come to a consensus is not a better way. Less is more.

I've watched plenty of television clips from Parliament's House of Commons.  Whilst it can be a hilarious way to pass a few minutes, I can't say I recommend it as a system of government.

I watch Churchill's speech from time to time, the movie about it, it gives me chills.

According to officials, between March 14 and April 7, over 7.6 million passengers are expected to pass through the Atlanta airport.

Why do so many people not understand this?
They do. But most people are absolutely incensed that other people behave differently from how they want them to. They must either be forbidden from doing something they want or forced to do something they don't want.

If you want power over other people, why settle for only getting power over 1-2M (small state), or 10-20M (large state), or 40M (CA), when you can just do it in Washington DC and you get power over 340M?

It's just more efficient to control other people when you buy in bulk.

My guess is if Democrats benefitted from the EC, they'd be for it, and vice versa.

and the reason the Dems dont benefit from the EC is that a vast majority of Dems is located in large cities which means fewer states then the Repubs

doing away with the EC would destroy the idea of state rights and destroy the constitution as well
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.
