Is that an example of the right way or the wrong way?
They do it right. They flee communism, come here legally, are vetted, and are productive people on a path to become citizens. Many already have.

It works if it's done right.

Lots of question marks on this one.
Maybe on the second-order effects, but not on some things.

The bridge is easily going to be $2B itself, and the federal government and State of Maryland will be in admiralty court to get this out of Lloyd's.

will they? Biden said the US gov't will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge. That's a direct quote from President Shits-His-Diapers.

I would just add immigrants tend to be hard working, more likely to start a business, and less likely to commit crime. Turns out, someone who would risk prison or death just to make things better for their family are good bets for society. A good policy would be to leave people alone who aren't committing crime and spend most of your resources restricting immigration on the idiots. Illegal immigrants aren't getting social security anyhow.
definitely agree. immigrants are the life blood of the US, it's what has made this country the greatest in the world and will continue to make it great.

definitely need to secure the border however and make sure we know who is coming in and out of the country. can't have an open border that is a wild free for all where anyone can just cross.

Rather comical.

Russian State TV Proposes Seizing Alaska and California (msn.com)
that's funny. they have had a hell of a time taking 20% of their tiny little startup fighting with scraps next door neighbor Ukraine over the last 2 years.

now imagine them trying to cross an ocean and taking on a military that has the most advanced weapons systems in the world and spends like a trillion dollars a year. lol.

If you don't replace your population over time, bad things happen.  I think if it's not growing at a decent rate, bad things happen.
yup. which is why China is screwed. One Child policy for decades has lead to an aging rapidly declining population and they don't have millions and millions of immigrants dying to move there (like we do here) to make up the gaps- nor do they really allow much legal immigration- people who think legal immigration is tough here- look into what it takes to legally immigrate to other countries.

Since the federal government is going after the estates of Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to claw back costs, you can be damn sure they will be going after a much, much larger target.

by far the greatest, most important, most significant news publisher of our times, Julian Assange wins a small victory in a UK court yesterday which ruled that a final ruling on his extradition to the US would be delayed three weeks in order to receive assurances from the US pertaining to Assange’s 1st amendment rights and that the US would not seek the death penalty. If the US fails to give these assurances to the UK then Assange would be allowed to appeal his extradition to the US at a hearing in May.

There has been talk floated by the media (WSJ, NYT, Guardian, WaPo) from "anonymous sources" in the DoJ about them offering Assange some kind of plea deal for a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified material and being able to walk free. Gee how generous of them. Here's a better idea, why not go f*ck yourselves and just drop all the bullsh*t charges and stop trying to kill the guy? What a thought.

How many got whacked over the years for opposing CCP policy.Or how many did they trap in Apt. or Condo buildings during Wuhan Flu by blockading or welding entrance/exit doors?

I don't view the Assange story as significant, at all, sorry.  Whatever.

Love this.
