I would argue that some of what's in them are highly addictive. When you go through weird brain trauma like I did, you start researching every part of food and drink that goes into your body. If you really want to raise an eyebrow, look into what Chick-fil-A puts on their food and it will also help you understand that "fad" as well.

Eventually, food and drink places will face similar consequences to what the cigarette industries faced, but we're probably decades away from people facing that reality
TRUTH,talking today to a bank rep,she has a 1yr old boy who has been in/out of ICU 3/4 times for heart/lung problems. She related to me how bad canola oil was even the organic stuff - I never knew that. Her pediatrician warned her against using it,no corn oil either, dayum

I assume it's only 6/7 the amount of MSG that every other fast food joint uses in their chicken

This.
They knowingly put things in the food that exploits our physiologies.  Everything in the middle aisles of the grocery store is either slow-motion poison and/or a physiological manipulation.
Same with fast food.
.
It's cheap.  Makes sure to hit the pleasing stimuli of the tongue.  Gets you hooked young.
Every single company that produces it knows it.  And they rake in the money.  Especially from the poor.
.
It's as bad as cigarettes or worse, and far more widespread.
All for greed.

Spot on. For me I was forced with a life change to face that reality, but now every single meal is cooked fresh, i buy nothing that can sit on shelves, make my own bread, pasta, etc and anything with an emulsifier or sugar can go to hell.

sugar is one of the greatest toxic chemicals out there. Every day for 3 years I started my day with a cliff bar before my workout and a pedialyte during my workout and by 8 am I had already surpassed approved daily sugar consumption.

I thought the concerns over MSG were completely unfounded...
The FDA says it’s “safe in moderation.” Over the last year I’ve connected with neurosurgeons, neurologists and a group of people that have also suffered from cavernous malformations and across the board the feedback is avoid msg as much as you can.

with a year under my belt of ensuring chemicals are nowhere near my food, my body outside of recovery issues from surgery feels like I’m 20 years old again. Too many times we get stuck with the word “diet” when we should focus on our way of life.

Fuck the FDA and the USDA, the classic food pyramid, and honestly, fuck 3 meals a day.
It's all born of greed and bullshit.

Soda shouldn't exist.  Neither should soda-burger-fry kid's meals with a toy.  It's mental warfare with the masses.
It's another broken industry that kills untold scores of people with no consequences.
No one needs 3 square meals a day, unless you're like a construction worker or outdoor laborer.

I think a good part of the issue is misinformation and "fads".  "I heard from Joe's cousin's GF on FB that gluten is bad, so I'm avoiding it in food now.  I feel so much better."

I eat 5-6 times per day. Only when I'm hungry, and almost never after about 6PM.

This apparent notion that "greed" is some new thing sort of amuses me.  Our entire economic system is based on greed, which is inherent in human beings.

Communism is the perfect system for perfect people.

We're not.

If humans were perfect, communism would be great.  We wouldn't even need any economic system or government at all.

Exactly. If humans were different, communism might work. But we are what we are. Capitalism is a system that takes our human nature and channels it into a [mostly] productive and [mostly] positive direction. The "flaws" of capitalism are merely a reflection of the "flaws" of humanity.
