As a kid, I got to know cars a bit, there weren't that many of them of course. Our neighbors had an Impala and we had a Belaire, and I envied those who could afford those three tail lights instead of our two, but at least we had a bit of chrome over them, unlike the Biscayne.
I now recall my Dad did have a 1961ish Ford Falcon at some point. Maybe his notion was to have a go to work vehicle. It didn't stay around long. I recall our first car with air conditioning was a 1965 Malibu. That was a real treat back in the day. My 1968 Nova had a Sears AC added, and that two speed transmission (Powerglide) which was pretty much crap.
