My Dad liked GM products, mostly Chevys, but he had a Pontian "LeMans" and that Buick Apollo thing once.  I didn't buy cars nearly as often as he did.  I ran a couple to high mileage before getting more comfortable and able to buy something earlier.  Obviously cars are sinkholes for wealth.

Families back in the day were known for their cars, dentists had Buicks and Doctors had Caddies.

My dad was always GM. Were I to get a truck it would GM or Toyota.

John Rahm is my player to watch right now, but he's been kinda hurt lately. I also like Scheffler. Calm, cool, collected.

As a kid, I got to know cars a bit, there weren't that many of them of course.  Our neighbors had an Impala and we had a Belaire, and I envied those who could afford those three tail lights instead of our two, but at least we had a bit of chrome over them, unlike the Biscayne.

I now recall my Dad did have a 1961ish Ford Falcon at some point.  Maybe his notion was to have a go to work vehicle.  It didn't stay around long.  I recall our first car with air conditioning was a 1965 Malibu.  That was a real treat back in the day.  My 1968 Nova had a Sears AC added, and that two speed transmission (Powerglide) which was pretty much crap.

During my early childhood my Dad was the general manager at a successful radio station and he got a new company car every year as a free promotional deal from the local dealers who were trying to curry favor.  He grew up without much money and was enamored with the idea of the luxury of Cadillac so that's what he typically got, but he mixed it up too.  One year he got a Thunderbird, like this one.

Near us, two large projects in the background and another one just getting started foreground, said to be the tallest new building in the city in over 20 years and would be fifth tallest in city when finished, condos and apts and some office space on first ten floors or so, I personally wouldn't be building office space.  The ground is red clay covering granite not far below the surface, good for foundations I reckon.

Ford and Chevy.  Coke and Pepsi.  It's all the same stuff.

I have not had a Pepsi in ages, they always seemed too sweet to me.  I avoid soft drinks in general, but I will have a Coke a couple times in summer.

The "World of Coca Cola" is modestly entertaining.  The CFB HoF is pretty well done I thought, even my wife enjoyed it.  (She thinks I'm a nut about CFB ...).

Years ago I did a tour of CNN that was quite interesting, at that time.  I did it again a bit later with friends and it was meh.  I read that CNN has moved from that area to up nearer me.  I don't know what's going on with their old building.

It's funny how our tastes change over time.

“From a long view of the history of mankind, seen from, say, ten thousand years from now, there can be little doubt that the most significant event of the 19th century will be judged as Maxwell's discovery of the laws of electrodynamics. The American Civil War will pale into provincial insignificance in comparison with this important scientific event of the same decade.”

― Richard Feynman

Maxwell's equations have been termed as the second great unification since Newton combining mathematically for the first time electricity and magnetism into a classical theory of electromagnetism;

1)∇.D = ρ
2)∇.B = 0
3)∇xE = -∂B/∂t
4)∇xH = J +∂D/∂t

Happy birthday to one of the brilliant minds in history, mathematician James Clerk Maxwell who was born on this day, 13th June 1831 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
