Well, in an update to the dryer saga, the motor didn't fix it. I thought it did for a bit, and then it wouldn't turn on (although wouldn't trip the breaker). Between toggling the breaker myself (and then the motor turning on--for a moment), I ended up replacing the breaker this morning. No difference. Means that there's probably some gremlin in the control board or power distribution board. The costs of those subcomponents are high enough I don't want to mess with replacing them.
So a new dryer is on the way, to be delivered Thursday.
Lasted 7 years. And only because I managed to revive it from the dead 3 other times. Not impressed what those quality metrics...
