How do you mean?
(I didn't think it missed, but I was also eating and talking with folks and basically just thought 1. That lady is pregnant, right? and 2. Man, she has a lot of hit songs I know)
She has a
ton of hit songs. Which they teased in 30 second increments. Which in my opinion failed, because it would have been a better use of 15ish minutes to focus on 4-5 of her biggest hits, rather than 30 seconds of everything.
I think the concept to begin was interesting with the high wire act. But everything after that was boring. There seemed to be a concept, but it never progressed from one thing to something else, so it got old 1/3 of the way through it.
And I don't want to throw shade on a pregnant lady, but it seemed that it certainly reduced her mobility, which might be a problem for a show that has a heavy dance influence. But it also seemed like they didn't do anything to work around it. So her performance on the physical level was just flat. Again, I'm not blaming her, because she's pregnant, but they could have found a way to introduce other elements around her to make up for her lack of ability there.

I think we've learned over the years that if you're going to have ONE performer, they sure as hell better knock it out of the park. She didn't.
Last year was a different thing. It was pretty much a lifetime tribute to Dr Dre. Which meant that it included a bunch of artists that he worked with or produced, and you had a very good show with him, Snoop, Eminem, Mary J Blige, 50 Cent, and (although I don't know much about him) Kendrick Lamar.
That show knocked it out of the park.
