How are things where you live, generally speaking?
Here everything is open, even the Symphony now is not requiring masks or vaccine cards. Grocery stores seem well stocked, prices of course, well you know. Gas is hovering around $4 for regular, the gas tax was dropped temporarily. The state is sending everyone who paid taxes checks apparently, $500 I think. They are running a large surplus now, oddly enough. New construction around us is going like crazy, some proposed projects have yet to break ground. I'm keeping an eye out for projects being abandoned. Weather is fantastic though some rain today with wind. Traffic has been back to normal. We had maybe 5 restaurants that closed during COVID. More than that have opened in the past year, especially around Colony Square, I had problems getting a dinner reservation Saturday. The new Persian restaurant is excellent, our favorite French place closed. Filming is back close to what it was, this occasionally closes streets etc. Sometimes I get to watch from our balcony. There is a large group in the park right now filming something about a purple crayon.
I get conflicting reports about rents not going up, but with all the new buildings just on the market, I suspect they haven't as places compete for new renters giving out freebies to get you to sign. Real estate is not lasting long on the market esp. single family.
