Yeah I didn't respond because I didn't want to get into it- and I was trying to heed your warnings of no more political talk- but his post was pretty naive- at best.
1) I'm not deleting any political talk on this thread or really anywhere other than the Corona thread. But I don't speak for the ownership of this site, if they want to shut this down, they can, will, and should. And I'm absolutely serious when I tell you (and others) to knock it off on the Corona thread. That thread has value to the users of this message board, and protecting it is something the owners/investors of this site have explicitly told me they support. But it's not personal, I promise you that much.
2) I don't consider bwar's post naive at all. He's consistently among the most well-reasoned and thoughtful posters on this site. I do think his take and his response are a little one-sided, as it doesn't represent what average rank and file Americans were hearing on a regular basis from their Democrat friends and from the media that fuels the talk of those people. I also think bwar was quick to dismiss these people as "the worst" of that group, when from my experience it was pretty much the average-- smart, educated, passionate people, that desperately wanted to believe that an asshole blowhard like Trump stole the election using all nefarious means available.
That wasn't true, at least not in the way they insisted it was.
But being honest and critical, over the past 3.8 years Trump has certainly resorted to other nefarious means to achieve his objectives, and it wouldn't be out of character for him to hatch some super-devious plot, rather than just let the DNC eat itself up and have the Russians expose it, which is mostly what appeared to have happened.
