I agree with sfbadger.  I have found good and bad everywhere.

I don't like cold long winters.  I lived in the suburbs all my life until 2+ years ago except for my college years.

Life in a fairly big city is quite different of course, but more varied and interesting.  And there are "suburbs" just north of us, regular residential areas with large houses, and small shopping mall in walking distance with a Kroger and  a Publix and a wine store (I don't go there any more) and some other places.  I like being able to walk to restaurants, the symphony, the art museum, the botanical garden, the park.

We have one car now and it's plenty.

There is a park in Paris I've always admired, Parc Monceau, that has midrise apartments overlooking it.  The wife says they run well into the millions of euros.  This place reminds me a bit of that, sans the millions of euros.  So, I'm happy here.

The property and sales taxes are a bite though.

Some of the construction going up near us.  I wonder how the COVID situation is going to change office space permanently of course.

I like watching these things get built, it is rather amazing to me what humans can do, when they build instead of destroy.

A lot of effort for something that'll only stand five years :57:

It now appears Georgia will have TWO US Senate runoffs in January.  TWO.

Holy cow.

Those elections will also be very close.   This state is officially Purple now.  I moved here to get away from a battle ground state.

I came here for the waters.

It's another glorious day here, 61°F at the moment, blue skies, some cirrus out there.  No rain forecast until Tuesday, highs in the low 70s each day.  I can tolerate TV advertising because I don't watch network TV unless the wife turns on the news (which she likes to do, but she has a TV in the bedroom and in her office.

I had asked the manager of Silverlake Ramen if I could buy one of their shirts because they are KA, and he gave me one when last we dined there.  They opened at a bad time and are struggling to get going now, they do quite a bit of take out.  I'm told their locations in LA are often mobbed with people.

Awesome weather in Columbus. Should be in 70s all weekend. Might get to watch some football outside tomorrow. What should I grill?

The wife loves lobster.  I'm rather indifferent to it, it's fine, but expensive generally.  I do like snow crab a lot.

Kroger has these frozen lobster tails, two for $6, so I buy two (x 2) for $12 and grill them, and they turn out pretty well, she liked them.  They were OK to me, but I can eat almost anything (not liver).

I could probably get better lobster at Costco, perhaps, and certainly in Boston.  We have a Legal Seafood around here somewhere I see.

Interesting idea.

Always laugh at the open border idiots.

Can’t have a country if you don’t have strong borders.

Maybe if the US and it’s NATO puppets- of which France is one- would stop destabilizing and destroying these countries in the Middle East, there wouldn’t be any refugees fleeing to Europe in the first place? Gee, what a novel concept.
